Galaxy S6 Edge :: Why Do Have Random Black Images In Gallery
Jun 20, 2015
I have the samsung s6 edge and I keep finding random black/blank images saved in my gallery. There are are usually about 10-20 each day. At first i thought it might be a security feature that takes a photo when someone attempts to unlock the phone using the fingerprint scan but i tested this and it didn't work. I'm not sure why this is happening and i cant find any other mentions on this issue online.
I'm trying to save picture messages from my default Samsung text messaging app and Google Chrome and they aren't showing in my album.. Instead going to download folder and once they are their I can't even share them. I got to screen shot It.. This wasn't happening before
My Galaxy S2 has started to add random black pictures to my gallery. I cannot browse them from the outside - only from the gallery application. They have no size or resolution and they do not show up in the camera application. They appear to be related to pictures in the gallery (by name). how they appear and what I can do to get rid of them.
i did something wrong while transferring images via samsung kies. Now my gallery is displaying images / textures from games etc that i have installed on the phone. Is there any way to fix this to not show these extra images in the gallery?
Today I have been getting ads popping up randomly. I open fb, an ad will pop up. I open Instagram an ad pops up.. Hasn't happened before. I've ran lookout and malware bytes and everything shows clean.
is there a way to sync all my contacts with facebook and use their images on the contact. I've tried going into accounts and sync with facebook but that just brings all my fb friends into my contacts list. i do not want this.I just want my current contacts to be linked to fb and not export my entire fb list onto my phone.
I have a Galaxy S6 Edge (Verizon) that I just updated to 5.1.1. It has now started randomly rebooting a few times a day. It seems to do this whenever it is on a charger (wireless or wired) and when it reaches 100%, but I have not yet seen it reboot while I've been holding it. This is not the problem where it then starts optimizing apps after rebooting. It just reboots. Any solutions to this (last resort is factory reset)?
Since lollipop update any images I save from google go directly to my download folder.. Why? Any other images I save from. Twitter or Facebook or chat save into my gallery.. Wallpapers I save from google when I open them in download folder it won't let me set as wallpaper, is their any way around this or do I need to stop using chrome..
So if I open messenger, or send pictures through it, etc., all the pictures I have been sent/have sent are in my phone gallery again. Is there any way I can stop this? It's very annoying. I just opened my gallery and there were 29 photos from messenger that I had previously deleted from my phones memory.
Earlier this week I updated my edge to 5.1.1. Ever since I randomly get the error message "unfortunately hangouts has stopped". I have never used hangouts and it has been disabled since the day I got my phone. I tried clearing the cache and it still happens. I use the stock texting app and have never even looked at hangouts. I tried to diagnose what was causing this, but it happens at random times.
Every day I seem to be getting the Spotify icon saved as an image (low res) in my Gallery. I delete it, and then it comes back the next day. I had a quick online search and I see that I am not alone. My phone is running standard launcher so I haven't changed anything on the phone, apart from usual wallpapers and personalisations.
I've had my S6 Edge for about 2 weeks now and have loved every moment of its ownership.I came from a HTC M8 where I could go into the gallery and hide albums from not being seen !? After transferring everything from my M8 to the S6 I for the life me cannot hide any albums. Of course each time a friend or buddy wants to see my new phone I'm so paranoid of them going into the gallery to see " pictures " they shouldn't be seeing !?
Is it me os there no way to hide this unlike my old M8 you can just click a tab here or there and its hidden ?? Oh by the way don't bother asking what pictures wink wink !??
Goal: When plugging the phone into my PC it will downloads all the pictures in the “Gallery”(only) to a designated folder of my choosing via Windows 7’s “import pictures and video”.
I have not been able to accomplish this simple task. When I plug my phone in to my PC it usually says there are no new pictures (when there actually are new pictures). If I open the “Gallery” and then plug the phone in to the PC, it then precedes to scan the phone’s entire drive for new pictures. This takes a while it does get the photos from the “Gallery” along with tons of unwanted photos scattered throughout the phone’s drive.
Is there any way to direct Windows “import pictures and videos” to a specific folder(DCIM/Camera)? This worked extremely effectively with iPhone 5, but I’m thinking it can’t be done with the S6. It was super simple; just plug it in and presto, done.
Do have to use a 3rd party app to accomplish this with the S6?
I have come to go into the gallery on my S6E today and it is suddenly showing 'No Items'?The photos are still on the phone as I can see them in file explorer but the gallery app doesn't seem to want to see them!I have tried clearing the cache of the gallery app and also restarting the media scanning service and also rebooting but nothing seems to work.
I have only had my Edge 4 days i noticed this morning my pictures were not showing in the gallery. I tried restarting and still not showing. They are on the device storage though. But i can not figure out how to get them back to the gallery. Strangely enough, the pictures I took yesterday are in the gallery.
I have called Tmobile and Samsung both Are unsure of the issue. This is my last effort to get the problem resolved with this phone before I reset it. How to resolve this or is a reset needed?
When I type an email, sometimes it substitutes two or three letters for an email address, or a name of a contact of mine..I don't have any of this set up in shortcuts etc...it's as if those two letters are telling the device to substitute for a contact.
On all my previous Samsung Galaxy phones I could display my Picasa photos in the gallery, but I cannot work out how to do this with the S6 Edge (or even if it can be done)? I liked the feature because it meant I had access to all photos in 1 place... if this can be done on S6 Edge?
I have deleted a couple of albums from the Gallery...one with pictures taken with the phone. How can i recover these ?...not on cloud, etc...only in Gallery.
I have connected my phone with the USB and transferred my photos and music to my phone. Unfortunately, when I open the Gallery, I can't see any of the pictures that I know are there. I can see the files if I use My Files to browse. It is the same for my music.
My s6 edge screen just went dark after a phone call. the touch and everything works. I can receive calls. I know how to pick calls since I just have to swipe at the bottom so I know the touch works and everything works. I get notification tones too. I tried to shut it off and maybe start it again but I don't know how to do it since i'll have to confirm by tapping the screen which I cant see anything on.
I have done the volume keys and home key tricks. phone restarts perfectly but with a blank / black screen like before. it was hot but now cool. screen is still off. I left to charge earlier before the fateful call so I don't know if maybe its over charged. but it seems everything is working but I cant see anything on my screen. its as if the phone has been switched off screen wise.
all of a sudden, after my dinner this evening, my S6 edge was completely unresponsive.
pressing the power button for 7+ seconds, as per Samsung, did not work at all. totally black screen, no response. pressing the volume DOWN button, power button, and the home button, also to no avail. on the other hand, while on the phone to TMobile's customer service to report this non-functional brand new phone,
i was continuing to press the abovementioned buttons frantically. well, while i was talking to TMobile via my landline, the phone eventually booted up. this was VERY haphazard. The only thing i recall reading about this was to press the power button for 7 seconds, which Samsung had said was the equivalent of pulling out the battery.
right. that's bogus. that did nothing for me. yet, by pressing the volume up or down button PLUS the power button PLUS the home button,
i don't know exactly which combination eventually worked, as i was trying various permutations, eventually, the phone booted up. this does not give me confidence in this phone.
What eventually i did to make this phone boot up eventually. all i did was to be on the phone with TMobile and press the power button plus the volume up or down button, plus the home button, and eventually, it rebooted and came back to life.
My phone fell on the floor, and the screen cracked and when I go to use my phone the screen is black and flashes white at me. I cant do anything with it, is there any way to recover my photos? I've tried plugging it in and looking for my photos but it says none can be found. I also have taken the SIM card out already and put it in my new phone, does that make a difference....
Recently I bought Xperia Neo v.I'm just loving this phone. The only problem I have is, it heats up quickly while I play Games. But that's ok since it is a mobile and not playstation. But yesterday I experienced a new problem. When I clicked my Gallery I can't able to see anything.I thought all the images got deleted but after sometime I can view all the photos as usual. I thought it will work here after, but my guess failed.Still i'm facing the problem I can't able to view my photos. Why it is happening so ?. My firmware update is the latest (0.42).
Several apps, including Sky Sports, were saving images to Gallery. I have solved part of the problem by putting an empty file named .nomedia in the root directory of offending apps that I can identify and then clearing the Gallery cache. However, there are still a large number of images of Flags of the World but I don't know which app is creating them.
This morning in my notification center, I have a new item I have never seen before... it has been running for hours. I haven't installed any new apps, I presume an app update changed something. The App title is "Cloud Gallery" in the status, if I click on it it pops up a notification that says "Hiding duplicate images may take a while.
I downloaded two game apps (monster squad and i can't remember the other one now) and they were both saving a buttload of images to my gallery. These images were included in the app size or if they're duplicates or what I just don't want to be able to see them and I don't want them being downloaded (if they are) after app installation and using more data and space. In the photos app they were all just sitting there below all the photos I've taken and in the Gallery app they were all divided into one pic per album spanning back to almost a year before I actually owned this phone.
I've gone through settings all morning trying to find something relevant and I uninstalled both apps but the images remained. I had to use my computer to delete them all quickly otherwise it would have taken AGES to tick them all and delete via phone.
