Not sure where im going wrong really, i used odin to flash a firmware, i was expecting it to wipe the phone completely which is what i wanted it to do because i wanted to start afresh with a new firmware but after installing i still has the remnants of the previous rom on like the theme didn't change, it didn't even bring up the initial setup screens. i did not change any of the Odin tickboxes, am i missing something?
I have tried to flash stock firmware a few weeks ago but got the same problem. Now I am trying to flash engineering bootloader exactly the same problem.the problem is; every time I want to flash something with odin it fails after nand write start and then i get this weird thing on my screen.and yes after this fail i can still use my phone and other things.
I tried flashing the newest firmware that came a few days ago.

and after 5-10 minutes, I just take the USB out and boot it up normally, because nothing happens.I'm in download mode, USB debugging is enabled, original cable, Odin v3.09, tried using different usb ports, odin is started as administrator.
I have a friend's Galaxy S6 here. A password was suddenly set and nobody knew why, she really said it came out of nowhere! So she asked me to get her photos from the phone and reset it afterwards.
I did that on other phones before so I flashed TWRP and pulled the files with adb. I tried to reboot after that and was stuck at the boot screen. I tried flashing some stock firmware from stockrom.net but Odin always says FAIL!
I see that when i use odin to restore i used this to see if it will get rid of lags or not .... I started a thread about the lag i am facing but apparently odin does not format the device my only hope to get this device running smoothly is this method ....
Today i tried to do a firmware update with odin. My phone crashed and odin failed. I now have a message on my phone saying firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try agan.
As the title say can this be a way out because flashfire doesn't use odin to flash a custom binary it directly flashes from phone and hence bypass knox ! Will it work?
I have the S6 with 5.0.2 and CSC ITV (AP:G920FXXU1AOCV, CP:G920FXXU1AOCW, CSC:G920FXXU1AOCN). Since I leave in Greece, I tried to flash through odin the Stock firmware with CSC EUR but I had fails all 4 times. Tried with both odin 3.0.9 and 3.10. The problem seems to be the hidden file in the end, because everything goes fine until that moment. The result is soft brick. What should I do?
Some reason a monster energy wallpaper from zedge somehow turned into a splash screen that won't go back to stock even after Odin flash stock multiple times .It was only a wallpaper at that point now after Samsung boot then the monster energy logo then the t-mobile boot screen.Everything works fine just can't get rid of it even after multiple Odin flash to stock and factory resets
I want to flash to G920FXXU1AOD4 from G920FXXU1AOE3. I tried to use Odin 1.85 and 3.04.
This is the error that I'm getting in Odin 1.85:
<ID:0/003> Added!! <OSM> Enter CS for MD5.. <OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable.. <OSM> Please wait.. <OSM> G920FXXU1AOD4_G920FOJK1AOD4_G920FXXU1AOCZ_HOME.tar .md5 is valid.
Anyway as usual I don't do lot of research (I'm stupid I guess), so first I flash CF-Auto-Root via Odin and... surprise phone is stuck on boot logo, so I don't panic too much , I install TWRP via Odin and everything is ok, then I download a stock firmware 3483.1 MB and try to flash it via odin but oh surprise, it fails, on the phone screen say
W REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 2 BINARY: 1
and on odin :
Odin engine v(ID:3.1005).. File analysis.. SetupConnection.. Initialzation.. Get PIT for mapping.. Firmware update start.. SingleDownload. sboot.bin NAND Write Start!! FAIL!
I thought I'd start a new thread to prevent going too far off topic on another thread that I asked this question on."If you want to go down that path you are better to root, unlock (via the market app) and then flash the XEU to your branded phone, and it will debrand it.It's all in a sticky on the Development link.EDIT: I've been using this root method and works well. For me downloading this file worked best and selected he 'touch' option http://clockworkmod.com/rommanagerTo avoid confusion it's this download: 5.8.1.5"Completed the above as advised by greenman and am now rooted (superuser installed and rooted apps work OK), but when trying apps to unlock phone I get no luck. Messages like "No code found etc from 2 apps I tried.
I have a Bell Blackberry Bold 9700 and I just switch to Rogers! Would it be *better if I flash the rogers firmware on the phone, or leave it with the bell firmware? The rogers one is .351 and the bell one is .423 ...I guess I was wondering if the rogers would be better since i'm on the Rogers network
Man, I have a ton of dirt, lint, and what seems to be a tiny hair in the flash on my camera. Is it possible to pop off the cover without damaging the phone and put it back on easily? I was gonna give it a go, but wanted to see if anyone else has done the same or had any thoughts.
Recently I've downloaded the last firmware from Vodafone Spain for the SM-G920F model using the wonderful SamFirm windows exe. The first time I got a ZIP file containing all the partition images and the second time ("Binary Nature" selected) I got the typical four files for the four ODIN'S fields.
Now, here comes the doubt, which of them should I flash? I mean, does the four files format include the PIT file for example? Or there are no differences between doing it using the ZIP file or four files format? Which is the better format/way to install it completely clean?
So, I want to flash the latest version of TWRP to my 920i ... My only question is this..
- Flash the new TWRP 2.8.7.1 (the one for Android 5.1.1) with Odin
This one for the normal S6 models & This one for the Edge models
In Odin 3.10.6, which option do you select to flash TWRP? I'm assuming BL is for bootloader, CP is for modem - what do you use for the recovery? AP, CSC, or UMS. I don't want to select the wrong thing and brick my phone.
I'am using S6 G920F. When i connect it to my computer, everything is ok, i setup all driver. However, when i put my phone in download mode to flash stock rom or root file by odin, odin 3.10.6 can't connect with my phone. In screen of download mode, i see " Secure dowload: Enable" in blue. I tried to use older version of odin but all are failed.I was already turn off Samsung Reactivation Lock, check USB Debug.
While trying to solve my problem with the phone heating up, I decided to reboot my phone however it got stuck on Odin mode! I cannot do the normal solution which is take the battery out since it cannot be done in S6 Edge.
I would like to update to Marshmallow from lollipop but my charge port is knackered. Doesn't work at all so can't use odin in any way. Can I just flash a new modem in recovery and then flash a marshmallow rom.
I've got a problem with my new Galaxy S6 (G920F). Rooted - la Chainfire with Odin.
After this process the phone seem to work fine. But the x axis is inverted.
Means: If I want to go into appdrawer which is on the right buttom side I need to click at the left buttom.
I tried to change the DPI to 480 what worked fine (after the above mentioned problem). Now camera as well as my keyboard is way to small for the screen. I've already seen the problem with the camera and a black border but it didn't seem to have been fixed yet..
I'm using G920I Australia version. I can successfully root using CF-Auto-Root.
But I can not get into TWRP recovery after I flashed that (tried both versions of the recovery) using odin. It stops at the first screen (samsung logo). I tried using adb commond reboot recovery and the hardware key (volum up+power+home), both of them do not let me in to the custom recovery.
I had tried enabled knox before flash TWRP, which made it into boot loop. And then recoveried using the official firmware. Now I can only get into the official recovery.
How to get into the TWRP? BTW, how to backup the pit file using adb? On previous models it was mmcblk0, but Galaxy S6 seems to have changed the memory map to sda1, sda2, etc.
