On my lock screen and on some of the other screens on my phone instead of text I am getting large blocks covering the text. This goes away for a short period after restarting but always comes back after a few hours.

My S5 receives new text notifications, shows sender, but when I open default text app the messages don't appear at all. I have no other text apps.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUpgraded phone from Samsung Galaxy S4 to Samsung Galaxy S6. Incoming TXT continues to work normally, but I cannot send an outbound TXT while VPN is connected. If I disconnect from VPN, TXT works fine again.
Same carrier - Verizon. Same messaging app - Samsung Messaging. Same VPN provider and account. Using OpenVPN on both. Also tried the VPN Client that PIA provided -- same results.
Same results whether I am using WiFi, or if I disable WiFi and only use Verizon normal wireless. Wife's GS5 using same OpenVPN and same SMS app and same network works perfectly.
I contacted my VPN provider, PrivateInternetAccess, who promptly blamed my Wireless Provider, Verizon. They stated that I had to tell Verizon to provide a "NAT unrestricted IP address".
After a while on my phone, my home screen numbers start to turn into white blocks. Then it starts to spread to the actual words on my phone (i.e. the dates). It is fixed by restarting the phone, but is there any way to fix this properly? Is there something wrong with my phone?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S5. Its not rooted. But I am running Nova Launcher as my default launcher. It causes my lock screen to kinda glitch out. The letters and numbers on the pin lock screen are turning into solid white blocks. I know if I restart my phone, it fixes it. But I'm just curious as to what causes it.

I dont see anywhere to change this back to the original behavior. I did a hard reset with no luck.So far I love my phone even with the minor annoyances like it hangs for a few seconds after unlocking it everytime, fine I can live with that. But I really want to fix this text message thing
I just completed a run and the first part (1 mile or so) is completely off. The blue line marks where I actually ran!! I haven't had any problems like this before.

View 6 Replies View RelatedVery often my Iphone 4s (with full coverage and 3G signal correctly dispalyed) loose connection to the internet, then it continues to look for 3g connection for a long time with no joy (so it never switches automatically to Edge...) and by then it can't do calls (if I try calls ends immediately...) neither sends sms. It stays blocked, restarting sometimes doesn't work, the only solution I've found so far is to witch off/on the 3G function. After that off/on, iPhone starts immediately to work fine again, in 3G modality too. I'm not 100% sure, but I noticed this problem only after updgraded to iOS 5.1. Any way to figure it out without disabling/enabling 3G all the time?

It's not a new thing that my phone restarts alone time to time(!) but recently I notice that any time I touch the 'backup and restore' app to close it from the 'on going' applications (what does it there?), the phone blocks directly and have to enter my code as if it was restarted again.

But my problem is the phone will randomly multitask (double-tap when I didn't do so), open siri randomly, and crashes some apps like google search and bug reporter. I purchased the 4S (iOS 5.1) and am having a hard time deactivating text previews... All that I've read says to go to settings> messages> show preview then slide to off position, the only problem is, is that I do not have the "show preview" option to slide off.

Today I received a rather strange spam text message (something about PPI and claiming money) that completely took over my phone I say text message because I received that alert just as this thing appeared on my screen.I could not get out of this thing; not even the home button worked! The only way it would allow me to exit the message was for me to click a large green button named "Dismiss"; no other buttons were presented. Not being stupid, I never clicked this button and turned off my iPhone, which got rid of the message.

The ONLY way I've been able to find my text messages is to go to "search", type in "tex" (no more because it mis directs me) then the icon with all the messages is there. I tried the BB button and do NOT get an option to move the folder. The ONLY way I've been able to find it is to use the specific search method as stated above. I've been working on the problem for 2 hours now since a friend told me via Facebook that she had sent me a text.

Reboots and battery pulls don't do anything. I've ungraded multiple OS's as well and the problem still persists.
