It's not a new thing that my phone restarts alone time to time(!) but recently I notice that any time I touch the 'backup and restore' app to close it from the 'on going' applications (what does it there?), the phone blocks directly and have to enter my code as if it was restarted again.

The only problem that i have is that when I close the "Backup and restore" app (I already restored all my data) using "task manager", the phone blocks the SIM card and I have to introduce the PIN again.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
After updating to Android 2.3, I can't find the backup & restore app. Is the app called something else now in 2.3? I want to restore my backups made in 2.1.

Same carrier - Verizon. Same messaging app - Samsung Messaging. Same VPN provider and account. Using OpenVPN on both. Also tried the VPN Client that PIA provided -- same results.
Same results whether I am using WiFi, or if I disable WiFi and only use Verizon normal wireless. Wife's GS5 using same OpenVPN and same SMS app and same network works perfectly.
I contacted my VPN provider, PrivateInternetAccess, who promptly blamed my Wireless Provider, Verizon. They stated that I had to tell Verizon to provide a "NAT unrestricted IP address".
I have just bought a new lap top and I have transferred all my files over to it. I backed up my I phone 3gs and then restored my new I phone 4gs with the back up. Everything went well except my contacts and apps are not on my new 4gs? Mail settings, old text messages pictures etc all there? Where can I find them? The second problem I had is I downloaded the latest software on my I phone 4 it has lost all my contacts after finishing the download? Where have they gone?

I have had my Mini Pro less than two weeks and the back key is unresponsive intermittently. The menu key can also play up, but not as much as the back key. The only thing that gets it working is turning the phone off. I thought it may be the screen protector but have taken it off and it is still there. I have not used the phone as anything but a phone (no internet browsing at all, have not even connected to the internet) so not sure whether firmware will help as it is new and could not have been damaged remotely?
