Eseries / Communicators :: Turn Torch Button Off When Keypad Locked?
Mar 25, 2011
I keep my phone in a leather flip case and when it's in my pocket, the torch button (space bar) key gets pressed causing the flash to come on.I don't know why this is as I always keep my phone locked and no other keys seem to work when it's locked.
Im using Nokia E6 from past 2-3 weeks. One of the most annoying features i found so far is that phone's keypad light doesn't turn on when you want to type the passcode for unlocking the phone. Even if you manage to unlock & want to type an SMS or a browser URL, still the keypad light is OFF. This makes it really annoying & next to impossible to type proper keys in darkness. When you leave the phone without touching any keys till its screen goes little dimmer, then when you press any navigation keys, then the keypad light actually turns on!
I'm an E51 user and i got the phone from my dad like few months ago. He updated it regularly and one day the left soft key stopped working, then it was the 4 button key 's turn to stop working.then he gave it to me and told me to go on Nokia's website to look for the solution. I was quite sure that it was the keypad but i discovered that if i press another button and the 4 button at the same time, the 4 button works. I am very confused. then after some time, the phone started to call contacts when i press the arrow keys. Example: im on the main menu and when i try to browse it calls my mum. I don't know why but i tried to update the software again to see what happens, but, the pc wont recognize the phone this time, i tried on my mother's pc, mine, my dad's one and my friend's one....same. I dont know if it is the firmware or the keypad. and i tried to reset all the settings by doing *#7370#, but i dont know the unlock code and my dad seems to have forgotten it.
where is torch button in Nokia e71 tell an application .which has torch function and which doesn't play screen, it should able to start flash torch on nokia e71
my phone e52 hang up so i awitched off. i have put lock which need to put before starting but when i switched on phone the keypad not working (all keys). now i am not able start phone.
Due to its grey colour, the keys don't create a strong contrast and they are hard to read in some conditions when light is coming from a certain direction because the keypad backlight come out to soon. Especially indoor I can't read any of the keys. I'm really disappointed when after I installed the latest software upgrade this problem still exist. Is it possible to "turn off" the ambient light sensor
Is there any way to move the camera button from the default top right button? When setting keyboard lock on/off (top-left then top-right) I press this button by mistake and has to exit camera-mode, which involves some waiting time.
I have a nokia e6, and it is a great phone. After the latest software update, the firmware was updated to Symbian belle which is also great, however there's a big bug concerning BELLE:Sometimes when i unlock my phone, the keypad freezes and i cant type anything (the green, red, menu button all work), the keyboard freezes, so i have to restart the phone so it will function properly.
I got the Nokia E5-00 today, and out of everything I can't manage to figure out how to stop the key pad from locking automatically. It's getting on my nerves, if I could at the least put a longer time limit on the period between where I leave the phone and it locking.
I have a Nokia E7 product code 059F7J6 (language set 014.002.09.01). Phone language and writing language is set to english but I have a problem with the QWERTY keypad. Keypad special characters (the one in yellow) on the keypad do not correspond with the special characters printed on the screen. Example letter D should print "&" as a special character instead it prints "=". It's the with almost all other characters. I am not sure whether this is a language pack problem or not.
I have a Nokia E71 which as I write is not responding to any of the keys. When I turn it on it boots up and then gets to the 'Set date' window, which I can't get past because it does not register me pressing 'OK'.
I think reinstalling the firmware will fix this, because before it stopped working it went through a phase of not working, and then working again, and then not.
The problem I have is that I can't select the 'PC Suite' on my phone when I plug it in because it won't let me press any keys. how I can get my computer to recognise that I have the phone connected, without having to select PC Suite on my phone?
I've bought this phone regardless of those bad things that has been mentioned in those threads, because I want it and it relatively cheap anyway. My E6 is almost bug free, yes almost.
1. After unboxing, I update the firmware to v22.
2. Quickly do "Delete Data and Restore".
3. Installing Remind Me.
4. Done.
I did not experienced the self restart, the disfunctional pick call after screen lock, etc. My battery also lasted more than one day, it is almost 1.5 day now with 2 bar left in heavy usage (wifi, bluetooth, angry birds, fruit ninja, messaging, some calls). So, what bugs left?
1. The keypad lights is turned off when the display brightnes is less than the mid point of the slider.
2. The notification lights in the middle of dpad is still barely visible even when I use the Remind Me, faulty design in my opinion.
3. The mail widget sometimes did not update the mails that displayed, even though the mail client is already showing the new mails. I need to remove then add the widget again to fix it or restart the phone..
About a week ago I made the mistake of upgrading my E72's software.Ever since, when I connect my E72 to a recharger it immediately locks up, even though I never configured PIN-code locking on my phone.
Can i change my black case with keypad (cover) of nokia e63 to any other colour?? Where will i get a new case or cover ??how much rupees i must spend??
I updated the software on my E63, while the memory card was taken out. After the upgrade, when i re-insert my memory card, its asking for password. No password was ever set on the card. I dont want to lose my data
My E6 locked down with Mobile Security after changing my old sim and since i hav forgotten da password cannot unlock it nowIs dere ne other option for me to unlock it widout taking da phone tu da dealer?
Is there anyway to remove or change the language button when you bring up the keypad? i find it very annoying and unnecessary being there !! always bumping it and changing the language.
I have noticed that if the usb cable is connected when the E7 keyboard is locked, the phone does not charge. Is this a bug or an "undocumented feature"?
Where/how can I in Symbian s60rd3 disable info about calendar and meetings/events when phone is locked (device - not keypad)? For example in nokia E66 synchronized with exchange. I have on screen, when I lock device, info about meetings and other events. Exist app or function in my nokia with this?
Try the remote lock message (message you sent in the SMS to lock the phone remotely) as the memory card unlock password.I upgraded my phone from v210.21.006 to v500.21.009 today. Took all the usual precautions like removing remote lock (didn't reset the custom lock code to default) backup content to PC & memory card, then removed the card from the phone before upgrade. Then after upgrade and restoring settings inserted the card & was prompted for a password. Tried lock code/default lock code before and various other passwords before figuring out it might be the message text for the remote lock.
after updating to belle, it is difficult to unlock/lock using the trigger.Suppose if the phone is locked, when the trigger i locking pulled, it unlocks for a second and gets locked again.
When going in "locked" mode for keys and screen (automatically, or by doing it myself via the Key lock switch ), this also locks the "call key", making it impossible to answer an incoming call by merely pressing the call key. I first have to unlock keys and screen by using the Key lock switch. I have all the latest updates installed and already tried the obvious like restarting the phone, getting called by several fixed and mobile phones (to detect a 'pattern' - without success, as strangely enough 1 time out of 10 the key DOES respond as expected), changing the settings for the automatic key-locking,.
