Eseries / Communicators :: Using IM For Nokia - Cannot Login / Yahoo ID Contains Underscore
Jul 24, 2011I have used IM for Nokia for Yahoo Instant Message. My Yahoo ID contains an underscore "_", and I could not login. I have tried with another ID without "_", it is ok. Is this IM for Nokia bug?

Jul 21, 2011my nokia e71x recently started giving me a very static-y signal when making or receiving calls. my voice apparently sounds fine to whoever i'm talking to but what i hear in the earpiece is full of static, as if the signal is very weak. this is happening no matter where i am (even in places where i know the signal is strong). i'm in new york city. the speaker appears to be ok when doing other things, e.g. watching video clips on Internet. it's just phone calls that sound **bleep**.this just started in the last few days. it's possible the phone was exposed to heat, sand and (maybe) water as we were recently on vacation, but other than the bad sound everything works and looks fine.my contract is about up so i may just replace it anyway, but i'd like to know if this is fixable. i tried removing the battery and sim card, making sure all were clean and dry and putting them back.

Jan 19, 2012My Nokia e71x died, I had a ton of pictures on my SD card. The USB slot also broke so thats not an option to plug into the PC. I was wondering if I plugged my old SD card into a new Nokia E6, would it read my pictures and files? are the operating systems compataible to do that?

Feb 27, 2012I have an E71x. It has a BUNCH of issues, but my main problem now is I was saving my text messages to my installed memory card. The card became full. I took the card out to get some audio files and other stuff off it to make more room. Well, at some point the phone said the memory card was missing and it would use the internal memory. Now I can't get it to use the memory card again. I see no way to put it back to that. I think the only option I got was to "Copy" messages to the memory card. But I don't want to do that.
I need to save as much stuff as I can off the phone, then reset or restore the phone to the factory settings, or just re-install everything. (this Symbian OS and Nokias poor support of it are for the birds...)But, how do I get the phone to save messages to my memory card again?

May 15, 2012I am having problems with gprs in my e71x. It used to work fine earlier but now when on using the web browser it just shows wifi under the internet destinations.I have gprs configured as an accesspoint inside internet destination and it worked great earlier but now for some reason it is no more visible to any apps.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings, reformatted it and even reflashed the 3.78 firmware but couldn't fix the problem.

Mar 8, 2012I have a nokia e6, and it is a great phone.After the latest software update, the firmware was updated to Symbian belle which is also great, however there's a big bug concerning BELLE:Sometimes when i unlock my phone, the keypad freezes and i cant type anything (the green, red, menu button all work), the keyboard freezes, so i have to restart the phone so it will function properly.

Aug 4, 2011I have a Nokia E7 product code 059F7J6 (language set 014.002.09.01). Phone language and writing language is set to english but I have a problem with the QWERTY keypad. Keypad special characters (the one in yellow) on the keypad do not correspond with the special characters printed on the screen. Example letter D should print "&" as a special character instead it prints "=". It's the with almost all other characters. I am not sure whether this is a language pack problem or not.

Apr 29, 2010I have a Nokia E71 which as I write is not responding to any of the keys. When I turn it on it boots up and then gets to the 'Set date' window, which I can't get past because it does not register me pressing 'OK'.
I think reinstalling the firmware will fix this, because before it stopped working it went through a phase of not working, and then working again, and then not.
The problem I have is that I can't select the 'PC Suite' on my phone when I plug it in because it won't let me press any keys. how I can get my computer to recognise that I have the phone connected, without having to select PC Suite on my phone?

Sep 28, 2011I've bought this phone regardless of those bad things that has been mentioned in those threads, because I want it and it relatively cheap anyway.My E6 is almost bug free, yes almost.
1. After unboxing, I update the firmware to v22.
2. Quickly do "Delete Data and Restore".
3. Installing Remind Me.
4. Done.
I did not experienced the self restart, the disfunctional pick call after screen lock, etc. My battery also lasted more than one day, it is almost 1.5 day now with 2 bar left in heavy usage (wifi, bluetooth, angry birds, fruit ninja, messaging, some calls).So, what bugs left?
1. The keypad lights is turned off when the display brightnes is less than the mid point of the slider.
2. The notification lights in the middle of dpad is still barely visible even when I use the Remind Me, faulty design in my opinion.
3. The mail widget sometimes did not update the mails that displayed, even though the mail client is already showing the new mails. I need to remove then add the widget again to fix it or restart the phone..

One of the most annoying features i found so far is that phone's keypad light doesn't turn on when you want to type the passcode for unlocking the phone. Even if you manage to unlock & want to type an SMS or a browser URL, still the keypad light is OFF. This makes it really annoying & next to impossible to type proper keys in darkness.When you leave the phone without touching any keys till its screen goes little dimmer, then when you press any navigation keys, then the keypad light actually turns on!

Of course, I have to re-enter my passcode, and due to the huge size of the keypad icons, I was unable to enter my passcode, inadvertently hitting wrong numbers. My phone keeps disabling for increasing periods of time. I tried connecting to iTunes on my Macbook Pro, thinking I might get to Settings that way, but it asks me to enter the passcode on my phone.Â
I am afraid I will completely disable my phone.
