I got this new phone a couple of weeks ago on PAYG,My money was disappearing fast, when I looked at the phone it either had a G in the top corner or an E.I've set the phone to ask before connecting to the internet, but this still doesn't seem to work.I've got facebook and email on my home screen,When i do go onto the internet the phone asks me to connect, even though it has and E or G in the top let corner.

My contract is with O2 £15.00 pm including unlimited text and 300 call time mins which suited me just fine.The 1st bill came back double the cost expected and when I contacted O2 they said its because the phone automatically connects to the internet each night to update its applications. They said to avoid excessive cost I should pay them and exta £10.00 pm for a 500mb internet bolt on.When being sold this phone it was never mentioned to me that the phone automatically connected to the internet each night and after spending ages tonight with O2 it now appears (according to them) that there is no way of turning this feature off and that the only way I can avoid this extra monthly cost is to take the sim card out and put it in another phone which I find incredibly hard to believe
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy C7 keeps connecting to the internet several times a day, before it closes the connection it plays a notification sound the same as when new email has been received and closes the connection, no other notifications are visible. I have several email accounts set up on the phone but automatic synchronization is turned off on all of them. I checked everything I could think of like other applications running in the background but could find nothing.

The problem is my phone still randomly connects to 3G when I'm out and about. There seem to be some background processes using data and thus making me waste money. I changed the communities and mail settings but it still connects to 3G randomly.

I feel as though it's draining the battery now. It didn't use to do this, it's since the latest OS update.
Is there a way to turn off the automatic music playback but keep bluetooth on?
When I drive around my phone tries to connect to any available wifi networks and annoys me with pop-ups asking me whether i want to do that.
Once i say no, it still takes around 30 seconds or a minute for the browser or other apps to start working because it still thinks its on wifi.
How do i stop it from trying to connect to other networks.
I can always manually turn off wifi but then i forget to turn it back on and start using my data when watching videos. I am on a verizon network.
I looked in the wifi advanced settings but i dont see anything...

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my phone turns on, and then the screen showing "Blackberry" with the loading bar appears, but it gets about 3 quarters of the way then flashes off then starts to repeat the same process. I am lost on what to do, even after reading several solutions that haven't worked! Also when I plug it into my computer and open Blackberry desktop software, it recognises the phone but won't connect to it!

Very frustrating as drains battery.
I do not want to have it forget networks, as then have to key in long security key each time.

So many times i have disconnected it in its Connection Manager Menu but it keeps on connecting automatically. It is really annoying since ts consume so much power that makes me to recharge the phone everyday,. View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought my x6 today, and thought it was a great little phone. I haven't had any of the usb problems that people have, but it just insists on connecting to the internet. I set the phone to receive my emails on a whim and mostly for the novelty, and about 5 minutes after closing it, I noticed it was still connected. I tried exiting it through all the various different menu screens, but it wouldn't go away.
Eventually, I deleted the mailbox, but it was still connected. I then took to holding the hang up button to make it disconnect, which I thought was a success, only to find out it's connected its self again a minute later. I'm on t-mobile, and it's connecting to the packet data "T-mobile internet" access point, or at least the little 3G icon is always up. I've just tried setting it to "always ask", and it does it any way.
how do I connect to the internet without connecting to my wi-fi, when i'm out and about, I have tried everything possible, my phone used to be on contract but now has a pay as you go sim, i'm not sure if this has something to do with it..
