Eseries / Communicators :: E63: Cannot Connect To Neither Wlan Nor Gprs
Dec 8, 2010I have a Nokia E63 mobile set. Recently, I updated its firmware with Nokia OVI Suite to 500.21.009. After update, it seems to work fine but when I tried to connect to my wireless router, it says "Connection Not Avaible" but the icon for wlan stays near the battery indicator icon. When I try to connect again, it says "Wlan connection already active, close it and try again". And when I try to disconnect with wlan, i cannot find disconnect option. Becoz of the problem, I tried googling, found that some problems were resolved by reinstalling the update. So, I tried the same without luck. I also tried Factory Reset which didnt worked. After that, I tried GPRS connection and found that I cannot connect with GPRS either.

Jul 25, 2010I recently upgraded the firmware of my Nokia E71 to the latest version i.e. 500-21-009. I followed the instructions in Nokia site and took complete backup before upgrading and restored entire stuff after upgrade. Now, though my settings are intact as it was before upgrade and my operator (Airtel) also confirmed that my GPRS subscription is active, I can not connect to Web nor can check my emails. Whenever I attempt to browse, it gives an error message saying - 'Connection Not available'! In fact, I checked inserting my CIM card to another Nokia phone and could browse Internet with same GPRS settings as in E71.

May 15, 2012I am having problems with gprs in my e71x. It used to work fine earlier but now when on using the web browser it just shows wifi under the internet destinations.I have gprs configured as an accesspoint inside internet destination and it worked great earlier but now for some reason it is no more visible to any apps.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings, reformatted it and even reflashed the 3.78 firmware but couldn't fix the problem.

I also Check it in Different Nokia Handset and found same Rebooting Problem in N73, 5310XpressMusic. But Problem not Occured when I use Non Nokia Handset eg; Samsung GT3530, Galaxy Y.

May 10, 2012I have Nokia E7, and recently I noticed that whenever I connect this phone to PC either it doesn't detect by the PC, or it detects and within a minute it again disconnected(that message comes in notification area).Nokia suite givs message E7 connected and whenever I want to something file transfer or sync within a minute or so it automatically get disconnected.I can see that in USB cable mode connection the light blinks and charging is ongoing, but nowhere in my PC I can see the "E7". This is started just two weeks back, I uninstall everythign, again reinstall nokia suite, pc connectivity software again everything. but no result.I just want to access my phone in Nokia suite mode and want to access my files. If I put my phone into "Mass storage or media transfer mode" I have seen charging has stopped and my phone not detected by the PC.

This is now seriously bugging me - I didn't subscribe to it (my wife uses Ovi Store and doesn't get these messages). I keep thinking I am popular but no, it's just Ovi Nokia App telling what i already know! How do I get rid of it? I have tried to reply and send 'STOP' but it won't let you reply. I can't find anywhere on this site that tells you how to stop it either. I am reaching the point where I now purposely 'lose' my phone at 10:29 GMT and then find it again at 10:31 just to avoid the curse of ovi!

I see that call someone is calling but no sound comes out of phone (I can answer call and all is OK). I tried to change profiles General/Meeting but anyway after change I make test call and still no sound. Only thing that help is switch off and back on.

He updated it regularly and one day the left soft key stopped working,then it was the 4 button key 's turn to stop working.then he gave it to me and told me to go on Nokia's website to look for the solution. I was quite sure that it was the keypad but i discovered that if i press another button and the 4 button at the same time, the 4 button works. I am very confused. then after some time, the phone started to call contacts when i press the arrow keys. Example: im on the main menu and when i try to browse it calls my mum. I don't know why but i tried to update the software again to see what happens, but, the pc wont recognize the phone this time, i tried on my mother's pc, mine, my dad's one and my friend's one....same. I dont know if it is the firmware or the keypad. and i tried to reset all the settings by doing *#7370#, but i dont know the unlock code and my dad seems to have forgotten it.

It is showing GPRS so it should be connecting.
I've clicked 'register now' for the host routing and it got back saying bb has been registered with wireless network. I've tried taking the battery out which hasn't worked either.

1. The phone always keeps connecting to my GPRS network (Tele2). When I go to the connections I can see that connection being active and transferring some data (not much, it's almost always at 7 kb). When I put my phone on the table I can hear that strange radio sound on the speakers (=some radio activity from my phone). I checked but there are no other programs that require the connection. I'm not using any email account on the messages menu.
2. Same thing happened when I connected to my neighbour's wlan. It always keeps connecting to it, even after I go to the wlan menu and disconnect it. It just refreshes and goes all the way again to connect to it by any means possible.

Jul 25, 2012I am using the Lumia 800 for the past three days and am in love with the phone. Works beautifully on WiFi the naviation once the maps are downlaoded is perfect and the touch and feel of the phone is absolutely brilliant.A sore point in the past three days is the patchy connection to GPRS on Airtel India. I have spent a few hours with their tech support and they are unable to get me online. I have update the firmware to the latest avaialble - 1750.0805.8773.12220 with no luch in connecting to the GPRS connection. The display shows an "E" next to the signal strength indicator but no luck in conncting.
The steps I have tried so far are as follows: a. Settings - Mobile Netwok - APN set to airtelgprs.com which is recomended. b. Used the default Network Setup software to update the settings,Reset the phone to uninstall all applications and bring back to default state assuming that one of the software issued caused this problem. Is there anything else for me to try before I take it to a Nokia Care centre for trouble shooting?
