I am using Nokia E52 since last 11 months, I have problem that my hand set starts transmitting / receiving data through gprs without any manual or software requirement, I don't have installed any software to my mobile,Also gone for Nokia care they have formatted and updated software thries, but problem remains same, I have latest version of E52 released on 9th June 11.
View 2 RepliesI have a Nokia E63 mobile set. Recently, I updated its firmware with Nokia OVI Suite to 500.21.009. After update, it seems to work fine but when I tried to connect to my wireless router, it says "Connection Not Avaible" but the icon for wlan stays near the battery indicator icon. When I try to connect again, it says "Wlan connection already active, close it and try again". And when I try to disconnect with wlan, i cannot find disconnect option. Becoz of the problem, I tried googling, found that some problems were resolved by reinstalling the update. So, I tried the same without luck. I also tried Factory Reset which didnt worked. After that, I tried GPRS connection and found that I cannot connect with GPRS either.

I would press and hold the power button as if to turn it on, it would vibrate and the center light would light up as it always does, but it just stays stuck on a white screen and will not go any further than that.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded the firmware of my Nokia E71 to the latest version i.e. 500-21-009. I followed the instructions in Nokia site and took complete backup before upgrading and restored entire stuff after upgrade. Now, though my settings are intact as it was before upgrade and my operator (Airtel) also confirmed that my GPRS subscription is active, I can not connect to Web nor can check my emails. Whenever I attempt to browse, it gives an error message saying - 'Connection Not available'! In fact, I checked inserting my CIM card to another Nokia phone and could browse Internet with same GPRS settings as in E71.

It used to work fine earlier but now when on using the web browser it just shows wifi under the internet destinations.I have gprs configured as an accesspoint inside internet destination and it worked great earlier but now for some reason it is no more visible to any apps.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings, reformatted it and even reflashed the 3.78 firmware but couldn't fix the problem.

3 months after purchase of our E5 it starts to act strange. No issues when using the phone, except one.
Often when dialing a number (or just entering the digit) that starts with a "1", the phone will freeze, sometimes only recoverable by removing the battery. If you start with any other digit, there is no issue at all.
I have an unlocked TELUS Storm playing GSM on a Philippines carrier called Smart. The data connection and call reception quality here has been nothing but horrible. Dropped calls/Calls failed, etc are pretty rampant around here (no matter what part of town you're in)
Anyway, I'd _like_ to think it may be something to do with the fact that the device is not Smart authorized/sold device. However, the backward nature of cellphone networks here could argue me down.
Long story short, now that you know my troubles.. when I'm on a full GPRS/EDGE connection, I pull up the browser. Once I start getting ready to type in a URL, the GPRS/EDGE goes to gprs/edge. It happens about 98% of the time. This same thing happens when I go to URL from an email/sms etc. I can't seem to figure it out. I've been on .328, but upgrading to .419 as we speak. Thoughts would be nice.
I have bought a Nokia E71 from a friend and when trying to download something from the Ovi store it asks for my user name and password, but says my user name and password are wrong and won't connect. I am using the same ones I use to connect to Ovi on my computer and it accepts them OK. Could this be because the previous owner's user name and password have been stored somewhere on the phone and as a security measure it won't let me in with my user name and password?
Does anyone know what I can do to be able to log in to Ovi on my phone so that I can download an application? The one I want at the moment is Sports Tracker so that I can check how many miles I do when going for a walk. I could perhaps find it online and download straight from their website, but I do really need to be able to download things through Ovi if required.
My problem is, when the phone goes in an area where there's no service, the 3G icon shows up in the right top corner, but when I go back to the area that has service, the 3G icon won't go away and I can't make any calls nor receive. only solution is to turn off the phone and turn back on. can you help me about that, how I can receive service again without restarting the phone?

I have just compared E-63 and 5233 both the phones have same 2 mega pixel camera and also have same resolution of 1600*1200 and there is a huge difference between in there pictures which are clicked at the same time and location when i m seeing in the PC.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia E7's Maps claims to be v3.09 12wk09 b05, MW OpenGL MN, Map version 0.2.47103 and 'SW Update' in checking for the latest improvements for (the) Nokia E7-00, says "Good news. Your E7-00 is already fully up-to-date."
Just before a weekly backup through Nokia Suite 3.6.36, I notice an opportunity to update the maps and, silly me, I decided to cheese the 'All' option erroneously thinking I'd have success updating 1,800+MB of map data; needless to say, at around 950MB or so, the error message of 'unrecoverable download error' or something to that effect left me with fewer maps than with which I began, including my local neighborhood!I attempted (several times) to download the map covering my local area and, when I tapped on the little red dot that show my current location, the surrounding vicinity is blank with the exception of several stars showing some of my Favorites.
Tapping the '-' to zoom out, however, reveals what appears to be street lines on half of the screen. Sure enough, there are some 'distant' Favorites, complete with streets but no street names except for major highways. Scrolling around leads to a screen freeze and even the lower left-hand 'x' to close fails as does any other attempt to close or even move to a different home screen. Closing the E7 and flipping it back open does nothing. Holding down the power button gives me three short, quick vibrations and then again gives me a reboot.
Back in Maps shows I have no maps at all; however, I can access Favorites in other countries. Downloading a map for the area where I live takes me back to my original dilemma where my current location is shown, but the surrounding vicinity is blank with the exception of several stars showing some of my Favorites, including those in different countries; however, even there not all streets/street names appear.Deleting that previously downloaded map and downloading it again makes no difference.
The Nokia N8 has this app, which allows you to broadcast/transmit music onto a certain specified frequency, making it possible to listen to music which is on the phone, while your e.g. in your car. Is this app also available for the E7-00?
