Xperia X10 :: Can't Stop It Connecting To Internet At Night
Jan 12, 2011
I purchased Xperia X10 mini end of October. My contract is with O2 £15.00 pm including unlimited text and 300 call time mins which suited me just fine. The 1st bill came back double the cost expected and when I contacted O2 they said its because the phone automatically connects to the internet each night to update its applications. They said to avoid excessive cost I should pay them and exta £10.00 pm for a 500mb internet bolt on.When being sold this phone it was never mentioned to me that the phone automatically connected to the internet each night and after spending ages tonight with O2 it now appears (according to them) that there is no way of turning this feature off and that the only way I can avoid this extra monthly cost is to take the sim card out and put it in another phone which I find incredibly hard to believe
every few days I simply can't do anything with my phone except make calls and send messages. When I use fb I get an error message 'an error has occurred while fetching data. [host is unresolved: api.facebook.com:80]When I use my ebay app I get 'no network found. please retry or check your network settings. Error type 5002'All I have now is very expensive housebrick!
My E71 keeps connecting to the internet via mobile 02 everynight automatically (strangely always around 2 mins past midnight). Its cost me sixty pounds over the last 2 months. I've uninstalled most of my downloads incase one of them was automatically connecting for updates but this has made no difference. The other night I switched the phone off at midnight but it still connected when I turned it back on. I've rung 02 and they've said it must be to do with a setting on the phone.
I got this new phone a couple of weeks ago on PAYG,My money was disappearing fast, when I looked at the phone it either had a G in the top corner or an E.I've set the phone to ask before connecting to the internet, but this still doesn't seem to work.I've got facebook and email on my home screen,When i do go onto the internet the phone asks me to connect, even though it has and E or G in the top let corner.
I am working in a company and connect to internet services Through Local Area Network. May I link my X10 Phone to my PC (I haven't Buthoot or Wi-Fi Possibility)?. I want to connect to internet by USB connection to PC that already connected to internet in a company LAN services.
I would like to know if I can use my Xperia mini pro as a modem to connect to the internet via my pc? I have done it in the past with my old Sony Ericsson, but just can't seem to get it working with this phone.
usual just after midnight however it kept connecting regularly last night whilst I slept. Havn't got a clue why can anybody suggest why or explain where I can see the exact websites the phone is connecting to. I've asked the network provider to suspend the internet connection till I get to the bottom of this.
Sony PC companion is not connecting to internet. Am able to browse internet with all other applications.
I've exewcuted the application as administrator but no use. I've downloaded the latest PC companion but still it's not working. Also I've tried in every way to coonect to internet i.e, by unmounting sd card, mounting sd card, USB debugging etc. PC companion is detecting my phone (XPERIA Neo V) but it is not connecting to internet.
I have just taken out a new contract so it is not effective from next month. I don't want to pay for internet access until them but I am being charged. How can I stop this?? I have turned off Wi-Fi access already.
When I want to exit from browser, I follow the user manual, press the 'square' button. But when I checked my data usage, seems like my phone still connect to internet.May I know how do I totally stop the internet connection?
(1) When connecting to wall-charger at night, device does not automatically enter bedside mode, even though specified in settings. When manually entering bedside mode, the screen goes black after several seconds; unplugging the device reveals that the device is in bedside mode, but isn't known because of black screen.(2) When connecting to USB-charger to my PC, the phone enters bedside mode and stays in bedside mode like it should.Device info9550Verizonv5.0.0.1015 (Bundle 1656, Platform 4.2.0.442)Apps and free spaceFile free before battery remove/replace: 116765295 Bytes File free after battery remove/replace: 118299711 BytesDid a battery pull fix your issue
The problem is that when I create my wifi hotspot for connecting my computer to, with network will be created but no internet is available over the connection. I've tried to connect multiple devices to my phones hotspot and none of them are able to access the internet.
I have researched a lot on this topic and I've been able to make my phone ask me if I want to connect to Wi-Fi or 3G whenever I open an application like Opera Mini, Communities, or chat. The problem is my phone still randomly connects to 3G when I'm out and about. There seem to be some background processes using data and thus making me waste money. I changed the communities and mail settings but it still connects to 3G randomly.
I still want the iPhone to connect via Bluetooth to my Ford Smax (so it's handsfree), but it now opens the Music app too and starts playing, well, tries to play as the Ford doesn't support music streaming. I feel as though it's draining the battery now. It didn't use to do this, it's since the latest OS update.
Is there a way to turn off the automatic music playback but keep bluetooth on?
For some reason my phone turns on, and then the screen showing "Blackberry" with the loading bar appears, but it gets about 3 quarters of the way then flashes off then starts to repeat the same process. I am lost on what to do, even after reading several solutions that haven't worked! Also when I plug it into my computer and open Blackberry desktop software, it recognises the phone but won't connect to it!
My Verizon Galaxy S6 is auto turning itself on and auto connecting to wifi networks. I have all options in the advance settings for wifi turned off and it still auto connects.
Very frustrating as drains battery.
I do not want to have it forget networks, as then have to key in long security key each time.

I bought Sony Xperia Z2 a few weeks ago.. im noticing that in the night when i take pictures ,specially portraits ,they r very blur & not upto the mark.. in the daylight camera works fine...but nights pics look very bad.. no sharpness n clarity at all . Also i have noticed that the moment camera takes picture its pretty clear but after some processing for about few seconds the image looks very soft n blur. i have tried all the modes n scenes n 20mp shots also.
The camera result is not much good in night with flash. The picture will get blur after clicking the image. So is there any setting to increase the result in night mode.

I bought my x6 today, and thought it was a great little phone. I haven't had any of the usb problems that people have, but it just insists on connecting to the internet. I set the phone to receive my emails on a whim and mostly for the novelty, and about 5 minutes after closing it, I noticed it was still connected. I tried exiting it through all the various different menu screens, but it wouldn't go away.
Eventually, I deleted the mailbox, but it was still connected. I then took to holding the hang up button to make it disconnect, which I thought was a success, only to find out it's connected its self again a minute later. I'm on t-mobile, and it's connecting to the packet data "T-mobile internet" access point, or at least the little 3G icon is always up. I've just tried setting it to "always ask", and it does it any way.
how do I connect to the internet without connecting to my wi-fi, when i'm out and about, I have tried everything possible, my phone used to be on contract but now has a pay as you go sim, i'm not sure if this has something to do with it..
