my blackberry internet services wont work(BBM, browser, appworld etc) iv phoned vodafone a number off times to be told the same thing, they keep saying it will be on in 24 hours and it still doesnt work. they then told me to follow some steps which included registering through the host routing table and i didnt get a reply.
Internet is not working on my blackberry phone though it was working previously but it stopped. I have not registered for a bb plan. Is it happening for the same reason for not registering.
I have a blackberry curve 9360 and I wanted to connect my blackberry to my home router while I'm at home, but away from the computer, so I did this:
-I went to Manage Connections
-I went to Wi-Fi Network
-My network at home, which is my saved network, shows up and I click on it
-instead of asking for a passcode even though it shows that my home internet is locked, it immediately starts trying to connect to my internet, and then says "Failed to authenticate against the network"
Since this happens ALL THE TIME, I went to "other ways to connect", then "Wi-Fi Protected Setup" and I see that the two options are "Press button on router" or "Enter PIN into router."So I clicked the first choice and it tells me to press the Wi-Fi Protected Setup button on my wireless router or its administration screen. That will probably get my internet working on my Blackberry?
my BB turned off itself and then when i turned on the browser was different (it doesnt show my favorites or my home page. Just shows a not-working browser and the rest is blank.) any search i make doesnt works i cant even open my emails or facebook notifications on the messages thing. Also i cant close the internet browser with the "back" button.
my 9360 updated to the latest OS bundle (low priority update but I thought I'd run it anyway) and now the internet is not working - facebook and Twitter won't let me log on saying that my data plan doesn't support the application, BBM is not working and emails are no longer synced with my gmail inbox.
So I just got the new Blackberry Curve 9360 on contract, and I noticed that while I am loading webpages the device gets really warm, mainly the back bottom right corner, near the memory card...when I am finished browsing the internet, and use the phone for texting or BBM the device remains cool. I have googled this but where the device is quite new there is nothing on it, should I try to get a replacement, or is this normal?
I bought a new BB 9360 and in less than a month i am facing all sorts of weird problems. The scroll wont work. I rebooted and the alt key is always shown pressed rendering the device impossible to use.I would want to get a replacement option where i can go in for a better device as i have read on the internet about this being a widespread problem on all blackberry devices.Could you direct me on how to take this matter further as the blackberry service station Redington in Bangalore, India is refusing to take this up.A service probably means a hot fix which i do not want as i am sure the problem will crop up again.
I purchased a new BB curve 9360 & every time I reboot it my emails & browser do not work, my emails stay blank & my browser is not accessible. The only way to fix this problem is to reset my phone software, once I do this it all works again. Why my phone keeps doing this as I'm sick of resetting the software every time?
i got a blackberry storm which was initially locked to vodaphone, but its been unlocked and is working fine but i cant seem to get the internet or any other internet related services on the phone to work.
work just implemented a new censoring program that blocks sites like Internet and facebook. now i can't access those sites through the bb browser. is there any way to bypass going through work's censors and just get content directly from the web?
I got my new blackberry today after my previous one had software problems and even with the same contract i can't get my internet to work, its says "This is a wif-fi service.please ensure your device has an active wi-fi connection and try again." After checking the "manage connections" option it said my wif-fi was on but instead of having the usual tick it had this symbol "-"
I'm having problems using the internet on my balckberry. I bought it unlocked and switched networks recently. It was working fine, then I went abroad and when I came home the internet won't work. I contacted my service provider and they said I needed to contact Blackberry support and request that they unblock my blackberry.
I have a blackberry storm 2 that was originally on a verizon network here in the US. It is now unlocked and I am using tmobile. My plan allows me unlimited internet, but this is not the blackberry plan. So simple browsing should work.
Unfortunately even after calling tmobile I cannot get the internet to work on my phone. Everytime I try to connect to the net I get this message " This is a wifi service . ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again. "
I was given a bunch of settings , restarted the phone , and was eventually told to go to the advanced options , browser and change the default setting of hotspot browser. For some odd reason I cannot change it to anything, it remains stuck on hotspot browser with no other option. As mentioned earlier while I do not have a blackberry plan , i do have unlimited web browsing , which I cannot perform from my phone.
When I go to my browser and type something in.. Or anything that needs to be connected to the internet.. It says I must be in wifi. I don't have wifi where I am and my daughter has a BB too and she is able to connect to the internet without being in wifi. How can I change the settings so I don't need to be in wifi to access my browser?
Neither Verizon nor Numericable, my provider in France, seem to be able to offer any tech support beyond telling me to pull the battery, toggle connections on and off, etc. I am not a techie by any stretch of the imagination, so I probably won't understand any jargon or acronyms you use in your replies, and will similarly need more detailed instructions on how to access things within my device (e.g., "just go to the host routing table!" won't mean anything to me).
1. I have a Verizon branded Bold 9650. I have unlocked it so that it is able to make/receive phone calls and texts by having Verizon provide me with the MEP code.
2. I have an unlimited data and Blackberry internet plan with Numericable, who contracts their 3G service through Bouygues. I am 100% sure of my plan, but whenever I try to open my browser, it tells me that "Browsing over the cellular network is not included as part of your current service plan. To browse the web you must use Wifi or contact your service provider to change your service plan".
3. I plan to crosspost this on the Blackberry France forums and the Crackberry forums. I hope this isn't bad manners, but I just want to get this resolved as soon as possible.
4. I have browsed other solutions but a lot of them seem to require a Windows computer to connect the Blackberry to. I unfortunately only have a Mac.
5. I've been waiting for over a week for something to change - Numericable at first told me that 'it takes 5 days to register on the network' and then to await a call from tech support that never came.
6. I would ideally like to be able to use this phone whenever I go back to the States in 7 months, so I don't want to mod it in an way that makes it permanently unusable on the Verizon network.
i just bought my blackberry curve the other week and my bbm wont work. when i add people it says there pending but they dont recieve a request and the same happens when they add me?anyone else had this problem? Also my phone automatically takes a daily rate for the internet even when im connected to the wifi. is there anyway i can stop it taking my credit everyday unless i give it permission outside the wifi area?and when i try and use the internet outside my wifi the internet access is very limited i cant use facebook or pages similar?
2days ago my internet browser on my blackberry 8520 stopped working now i cant get on the internet on my phone at all.
Is this a problem with blackberry or my network service because every other app tht requires internet is working fine, i receive my emails fine and bbm is still working aswell as other im sevices
i have a blackberry 8310 and have £20.00 credit evertime i go on browser and try to get it too load up a website it justs says 'Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. If the problem persists contact your service provider.' Now i'm not on contract but the internet still should work?
Once I cut my iphone on in my house, it says that it is connected to the internet, but once I try to send out text messages , it closes out and doesn't send the message. Then when I try to get into any of my other apps , they close out as well and I don't know what happens.
I have mobile internet icluded on my tariff but when i try to use it my blackberry just says that it needs a wi-fi device. How do i get my mobile internet to work??
I bought a BB Bold 9700 from eBay, and I cannot get the BB internet service to work. I do have a data plan that works with BIS. Before this i used this sim with an Android phone, hat worked just fine. And I have tried this sim on an Curve 8320, and on this one works just fine.I use a prepay card from Vodafone DE.I called the customer service from Vodafone and they've told me that it takes 3 days to activate this service (even though it worked on the 8320 imediatly). The 3 days have past, and nothing.A guy from a Vodafone shop in Germany, told me that the phone has been pre-registered before by someone else, and that I should contact Blackberry Support, but this guy didn't seem to know what is talking about.
Can someone answer the questions below i have an X6 16gb with the latest maps 3.03.Do you need an internet connection for sat nav to work?Is there any data charges? i am on Orange. How does the gps work?
I just picked up the new Lumia 920 from the Microsoft store in Canada. The phone was locked to Rogers and I was required to unlock in order to use it with Telus. I entered all the required APN settings to use Telus data but I still cannot get Internet Sharing to work. I'm having the same issue with MMS as well.
How can I get these features to work? This is a game changer and it's making regret switching to Windows Phone...
Truthfully I dont know if it's Nokia to blame or Rogers or Microsoft but this Internet Sharing and MMS issue has created a really poor Windows Phone experinece for me. Someone really needs to step up to the plate and address this.
