I recently backed up the phone. Battery was running down quickly. Recharged unit. Removed battery and re-installed. Reboot bar progresses to about 2/3 across screen and then stops (over an hour no movement).
View 1 RepliesA few days ago my phone froze (as usual) so l pulled out the battery so it would reboot and that'd fix the problem, right? BUT, after waiting almost 3 hours i got NOTHING. I gave it all night to finish loading but doesn't go further than "blackb-", the last part (-erry) just wont load Obviously Desktop Software doesn't detect the phone when i connect it via USB so i can't back up my files.

Is the only way to reboot a tour to do a battery pull? Before the update I had an ap that would reboot the phone on a schedule, but it doesn't work now.

Now blammo, nadda!When I type an email (compose new, reply or forward), my email addresses from my contacts now longer auto-magically auto-fill. It doesn't matter what category the contact is from. I've tried alt "rbld" in the contacts. I've restarted about 15times over the last week, even with the almighty battery pull. I've tried re-syncing multiple times. I've removed and re-installed my email accounts. I've spent more time trying to fix it than typing in the dern addresses at this point, it's just so blastedly inconvenient and time consuming with my excessive emailing for work. I'm ready to try a stick dynamite attached to the phone, but thought it was a lil extreme, so I'm asking for help first...
View 8 Replies View RelatedEver since I activated BES (so that I could sync email/calendar with my company's MS Exchange server), I have been experiencing a couple of email-related issues that I did not have previously:
1)When composing a new email or trying to add another contact to an existing email, when I type in the name of the person, the email address auto-complete function does not work. It does work when I am sending SMS, MMS, and searching through my Phone Book, but does not work in email for some reason. Even if I manually type in the correct email address, I do not have a ¯ option for the email. I can only reply to email or go through the Phone Book and selection the phonebook entry. I have done the phone book ¯ quickfix several times without any success.
2)My calendar events are not showing up in my BES email folder both sent or received calendar notices do not show up for some reason. I have re-sent the Service Books from BES a couple of times to no avail.
On my Pearl, when typing, it would complete the word with suggestions. This was controlled by language preference, but I can't find that option on my Tour. I'm trying to save steps in typing texts and emails.

This has recovered in the past to successful reboots, the software has worked ok for more than a year. but now the Tour is stuck forever on reboot - the status bar stuck just under the "e" in "BlackBerry" on the reboot progress screen.I tried removing the battery, waiting 5 - 10 min., replacing; tried "alt-right shift-del" once and twice - this makes it start rebooting again to be stuck at same place. tried everything without the SD and SIM cards.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a facebook app upgrade and when it rebooted, my phone froze. I did a battery pull and then went to BBDM to see if I could do a "restore" from my computer, but it won't recognize the phone because it is in this frozen pattern. The screen sits in the white screen with timer mode and every 20 minutes or so, the screen goes black and tries to reset and gets stuck back in the white screen with timer mode. I backed my system up yesterday. Can I do a restore if it won't recognize my phone when I plug it in? Is there a hard reset that I can do?

I am on sprint and running .419. I can make phone calls and everything, but just curious what that error message means.
Also, I am no longer getting MMS messages with this update, everything comes through as a SMS, and I have to use that dreaded sprint picture mail to see the message. In which the message never comes out clear.....

Since Password is on, I see no need for Device Memory encryption to be on. Without the password you can't gain access to device files. ZonaSnap , QuickLaunch, Blink all preloaded during each test. 8 Email Accounts, about 80 read emails, and 100+ sms, 41 apps anyone that is getting 1-2min reboot please post your settings.
How much are the fast reboot or reboot/kill software really needed on ICS?im finding that even on a large exclude list there are still apps that run, that i dont really need and eat up some of the interal memory.is there any other way other than rebooting all the time to get rid of them? Will rebooting drain more battery energy?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHi, I have a N97 (all firmware up to latest) and my OVI maps has never worked (logs in but as soon as you use it it just closes the app). Sometimes when I end a call it just switches itself off and on again. I even had a case where the battery went flat and I charged it for a while but had to take it off of charge but for some reason the bar still kept on moving up like it was charging. In all honesty I've only had problems with my phone and am kinda regretting not getting a Iphone instead. Please help as this phone will be flying out my car window on the highway if this keeps going on.

I know all of the correct settings, as I have set up this account on other non-Blackberry devices, but I continue to get an error stating something is wrong. Just to be safe, and because I never underestimate my ability to mess something up, I have tried many combinatins of my user name and mailbox name. No luck no matter what I try.

So, I uninstalled Super SU. Ofc, bad move... Had to undergo some steps in order to completely remove it.
So, i wanted to reset my HTC. It went into a booting menu, and I thought I had to select what to delete ( wrong, it already deleted everything,all i needed was to reboot)... so, i deleted EVERYTHING on my HTC, now it's obviously not working anymore. What can I do to at least re-install an OS on it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my BB Tour.When I woke up this mourning and took my bb off the charger.I notice there were HLhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhl type on my bb so I tried to press the esc button and the end button and it didn't work. So I did a Battery pull and let it load up...and that when i found out that my trackball wasn't working.then all a sudden it started to type the HLlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhlh again.So I did a another battery pull and it did it again.So I wiped the phone decided to install 5.0 on my phone and I get the same thing.The only thing I did before my phone went hay wire was a couple days prior.I downloaded a couple free themes and screen saver from BB App World.I thought by doing the battery pull and wipe I would fix it but didn't. I know I didn't get my phone wet or anything can anybody explain this?

Did a battery pull, double checked memory leaks, and nothing is taking care of it. It's draining at about 15% per hour. Any thoughts (other than Tours suck.)

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just updated the software on my Blackberry Tour and now my calendar is behaving as it did two software generics ago! Specifically, when I change and appointment to a future date and then save that appointment, the calendar moves to that future date! This is terrible if you are moving several items out to future dates! Previously, the changed entry would just disappear from the screen (moved to the new, future date) and I would remain on the day I was working on.Secondly, when I open a future day in calendar, the “All Day Events” do not show first (as they used to). Instead you have to scroll up to see if there are any of these type events.Does anyone know of a way to change these settings/defaults.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust went from a storm 1 to a tour and I am loving it. I can't believe how much more app. memory I have!
However, I cannot get my tour device to show up in windows explorer. It connects and I can browse my media card. There is no drive in windows explorer for the device itself. I can connect to desktop manager and back-up my device memory so I know the computer can read my blackberry device. I upgraded the os with no problems.
I am running vista home premium with blackberry os 5.0 from sprint. I am on verizon. I do have mass storage mode enabled and all of those memory settings set to yes (auto connect, etc.). BBSAK and Blackberry Master Control Program see the device as well. I do not use roxio media manager and it is not installed with my desktop manager. It was too slow and clunky when I had my storm so I never bothered with it.
After I installed the new operating system I lost a feature. Both my husband and I have the Tour. For example, if you highlight the Games folder and press the Blackberry options, one Tour can choose "edit folder" and pick a new Icon. The other Tour mine is missing that choice. Any fix? If I create my own folder, I have the feature, but not for my Games, Applications and other folder that were there in the old OS.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI dropped my Tour and scratched up the bezel, and made the dumb decision to replace it. Long story short, I messed up switching over the buttons, and I stripped the screw putting it back in, so there's no going back to fix it. Now, when I press the keyboard lock button, it doesn't work. I figured out that I can hold down "A" on the homescreen to lock it, but now how do I unlock it?!
And PS: DON'T CHANGE YOUR HOUSING/BEZEL! I would much rather have a dinged up bezel than the situation I'm in now. Looks like I'm stuck with this Tour 'till December. I hope that people listen to my housing advice, and not be naive and ignore others like I did!
My Tour is 3 months old. Suddenly calls are dropping in the house and the battery charger is taking 10 hours to charge the spare OEM battery. Running the 5.0.419 and it's been fine. Verizon came out with theirs and it's so bad I went back to 419. Now I have an email from RIM saying new software for the phone is available but it doesn't say what version it is so I'm afraid to load it. Any one else have same issue? Phone was fine after going to the first 5.0 for 2 months but now after having changed from Verizon's 5.0. (been a month or so) the issues started about a week ago.
