I am on Telus. I upgraded through my Mac to 5.0.0.419. It ran fine and completed.however, while the phone works. I have no email and no internet connection.All my icons are there but will not connect to send. In the setup wizard it will not connect for email set up so I can not even send service books.
View 9 RepliesWell I have had my blackberry tour for almost a week and i put the OS5.0 .419 tonight. so far so good, but i have my regular message folder, but there is no email folder and i went and setup my email ont he phone but there is no foler that i can find to actually read them in. its not evn getting any of my email cuz i sent one to the registered address. its not abig deal as it did drive me nuts getting all my emails on it, when i only check email when im away from home on my phone. i can always log on line to do it thru the phone, its just buggin me. i had the htc touch pro before this, and the blackberry so far is a love hate thing.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI used to use the left convenience key to lock the device, but after upgrading to 5.0, that function has disappeared. The only way I can lock my device now is by pressing the top lock button, which only locks the keyboard. Am I missing something?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am having a huge issues with my e-mail/internet and text messaging capabilities with my tour plus the phone constantly shuts off. I am on my 3rd tour (2nd replacement phone). This issue started about 4-6 weeks ago w/my first tour, it was replaced then the second one started randomly shutting off, then I am now on tour #3 and am having major issues:I'm not able to get a signal to receive phone calls, text messages or e-mails and today while I was at work (same spot for the last 6 months -- haven't moved and never had an internet/signal problem before) when I got out of work I had 18 e-mails, 16 text messages, 2 missed calls and my battery was practically drained and dying (which by the way under mobile connections and mobile network if I put it on 1VEX it can never find a signal or is always searching for a signal whereas if I put it as Global it can find a signal).I got this phone because I'm an avid overseas traveler and I need a phone w/me when I leave however this is causing a lot of frustration and annoyance.I've done everything to all devices:hard pull, complete hard drive wipe, updated service books, turned mobile networks on and off, made sure I had the most up-to-date software available NOTHING works.any suggestions?

I play with my wife's iphone and the internet is night and day. I know that the internet will never be as good as the iphone, but it would be nice to surf websites a little better on the blackberry. Is there a great internet app? Regular blackberry internet app is not that great. Some would say if I want to surf the web then get an iphone, but I am addicted to my blackberry. Love the superfast email, and BBM. Does anyone really use their blackberry for surfing the internet?

i got a blackberry tour passed down to me and after doing the security wipe i wasnt able to access the internet,bbm,facebook. i have gone to my network provider and they couldnt fix it. the host routing table is empty and when i register it it say the message has being sent and still nothing happens.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to use an app that requires the internet, one of two messages constantly pop up, sometimes even both. I have the application permissions set to allow. One message is, "The application slacker_radio has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy." I can only click 'ok' after that. The other message is, "The application (any one of them) has requested a http connection to (whichever site it uses)" Then is has choices: 'Do not ask for http' and 'Do not ask for http to (whichever site it uses)' The second choice is checked by default. I've tried checking both and either box singely. Again, all the application permissions are set to allow for these apps. I've tried Slacker, Poynt, Scoremobile, Weatherbug, and . I didnt bother trying any other app.

They put in a sim card and everything worked perfect: browser, emails, etc. On October 20 I quit receiving emails and could no longer access internet.

There isnt even a browser icon on the phone. How do I set up the network? Verizon doesnt let you have a bb unless you pay for a data plan, it would be pointless to have it without internet working!

The phone is on Verizon network am able to activate my Blackberry Internet Services, but these however, do not work. I am unable to use the Internet or use Blackberry messanager.Vodacom says that they do not support this phone therefore dont have the settings. However, whenever I open the browser I would get this error: "Your decivce does not currently have any Browser Configration Service Book entries, Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device".What does this mean, and how can I fix it?
My internet,bbm are not working and im not receiving emails, all im able to do is text. i tried taking out the battery and then restarting it but it did not work.

Delete On: Prompt
Wireless Reconcile: On
On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins
Any help would be really appreciated. I know other people have reported this problem w. different OS's on different phones.
Just did a battery pull with OS 5.0.0.419 and for the first time since the upgrade there was no email about registering with the network after the unit booted up!! Maybe it stops after a while.

Between the process of it going down, i was no longer revieving emails on my phone, so I deleted the account in hopes to simply re-add it and be back in business.Now that I deleted it, im not able to re-add it. Go figure. Im putting my account and password in correctly, and usually it would just load onto my phone. If I open a message it will be there indefinitely, but if I don't open a message it only stays in the inbox for one to two hours, then just disappears.I come into work in the morning and there are 20 or so unopened emails in my POP3 account, but only one or two on my phone, and none older than an hour or so.
Been testing this and, like clock work, the emails are deleted even though I have not erased or even opened them in my outlook app or on the POP3 server.Has anyone else had this issue Verizon has had me do both soft and hard resets of the phone with no solution.Maybe I got a special "Tiger Woods Edition 9630"?
I'm on 4.7.x whatever so I open the email, click on the blackberry.com/update link, click on the link on that page, it launches desktop manager, which proceeds to tell me. Anyone else get an email from RIM this afternoon?

#1 when on my internet browser, it sometimes requires me to zoom in and sometimes click a link severel times before it will actually go to that link. I am wondering if its something to do with the new verizon update or if my phone is messed up?
#2 I cannot open any attachments in my email anymore. Any jpeg, pic, or pdf attachments pull up saying my phone does not support those attachments.
