i got a blackberry tour passed down to me and after doing the security wipe i wasnt able to access the internet,bbm,facebook. i have gone to my network provider and they couldnt fix it. the host routing table is empty and when i register it it say the message has being sent and still nothing happens.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am having a huge issues with my e-mail/internet and text messaging capabilities with my tour plus the phone constantly shuts off. I am on my 3rd tour (2nd replacement phone). This issue started about 4-6 weeks ago w/my first tour, it was replaced then the second one started randomly shutting off, then I am now on tour #3 and am having major issues:I'm not able to get a signal to receive phone calls, text messages or e-mails and today while I was at work (same spot for the last 6 months -- haven't moved and never had an internet/signal problem before) when I got out of work I had 18 e-mails, 16 text messages, 2 missed calls and my battery was practically drained and dying (which by the way under mobile connections and mobile network if I put it on 1VEX it can never find a signal or is always searching for a signal whereas if I put it as Global it can find a signal).I got this phone because I'm an avid overseas traveler and I need a phone w/me when I leave however this is causing a lot of frustration and annoyance.I've done everything to all devices:hard pull, complete hard drive wipe, updated service books, turned mobile networks on and off, made sure I had the most up-to-date software available NOTHING works.any suggestions?

View 9 Replies View RelatedOkay, so it is a bit ironic that I am posting this question, as I have been helping others here on CB with BT/USB tethering for quite some time now. However, it looks as if the tables have turned!
Like many have reported over the past few months, Sprint has finally turned off the "back-door" free tethering connection that has been working for many years via BT and USB for many, many people. Over the years, I have activated and deactivated the "phone as modem" add-on several times, usually only when needed. Just last week, I called into CS and had them flip the switch ON.
My Tour was already setup for BT modem, and connected just fine, and since I turned it on, I have used the service many times. HOWEVER - just the other day, I tried to connect and my Tour's screen flashed white, and said "Connecting to desktop". I could not exit out of this screen, and also could not connect to the phone via BT to use as a modem. The blue BT light was flickering, and the computer was trying to connect for about 30 seconds, before failing - and once failed, the white screen went away, and the home screen reappeared.
I have NEVER seen this screen before - not even when connecting the phone via USB to the DM in either Windows or Mac. I am not sure what has happened since last week. I have not installed a new OS, nor have I changed any settings on the phone or in DM. Very odd!
I would appreciate any help or insight into this matter. I have already tried pairing the phone with the computer again - but still every time I go to connect via BT, the phone is now displaying the "Connecting to desktop" message with a white background. So weird! I am using Snow Leopard with a hybrid OS. Neither one of these factors should be the root of any issue - as I said earlier, just last week things were working fine - and I have made NO changes whatsoever since.
Only new apps downloaded since have been Bold, Opera, and QuickPull - however, I cannot imagine any of these apps to be interfering with tethering. I have tried battery pulls, and reconfiguring bluetooth settings - all to no avail.
Ive searched and havent really found a good answer to my problem, but when i connect my blackberry through the USB port, my computer and DM are not finding that its connected. Ive tried re-installing DM, re-starting my computer, re-booting my phone and none of these have worked. Is there something else that I am missing?

I play with my wife's iphone and the internet is night and day. I know that the internet will never be as good as the iphone, but it would be nice to surf websites a little better on the blackberry. Is there a great internet app? Regular blackberry internet app is not that great. Some would say if I want to surf the web then get an iphone, but I am addicted to my blackberry. Love the superfast email, and BBM. Does anyone really use their blackberry for surfing the internet?
View 14 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to use an app that requires the internet, one of two messages constantly pop up, sometimes even both. I have the application permissions set to allow. One message is, "The application slacker_radio has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy." I can only click 'ok' after that. The other message is, "The application (any one of them) has requested a http connection to (whichever site it uses)" Then is has choices: 'Do not ask for http' and 'Do not ask for http to (whichever site it uses)' The second choice is checked by default. I've tried checking both and either box singely. Again, all the application permissions are set to allow for these apps. I've tried Slacker, Poynt, Scoremobile, Weatherbug, and . I didnt bother trying any other app.

They put in a sim card and everything worked perfect: browser, emails, etc. On October 20 I quit receiving emails and could no longer access internet.

There isnt even a browser icon on the phone. How do I set up the network? Verizon doesnt let you have a bb unless you pay for a data plan, it would be pointless to have it without internet working!

The phone is on Verizon network am able to activate my Blackberry Internet Services, but these however, do not work. I am unable to use the Internet or use Blackberry messanager.Vodacom says that they do not support this phone therefore dont have the settings. However, whenever I open the browser I would get this error: "Your decivce does not currently have any Browser Configration Service Book entries, Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device".What does this mean, and how can I fix it?
My internet,bbm are not working and im not receiving emails, all im able to do is text. i tried taking out the battery and then restarting it but it did not work.

I changed the housing in my Tour to make it white but the trackball doesn't sit right and i have a problem scrolling down. I can't seem to get the trackball to sit properely in this housing its just not centered. If i can put a curve trackball in, which model curve do i use?

I won't receive emails on it for quite a while, but once I open my Internet browser, all of the emails I received since the last time I opened it will come through at once. If I check my messages, they're all listed as coming through at the same time, but inside the email, they're datestamped at the actual time they were sent.
Any ideas as to what it could be? I haven't changed any settings recently, the problem started independent of anything else, from what I can tell. It seems like a problem with my phone not checking for new emails until it uses data services (internet browser).
I've researched my problem on other posts, and still not completely sure if my problem is unique or not.I have an unlocked Sprint 9630 I grabbed from our IT department before a trip to Turkey. It was supposedly deactivated - turns out it is still active on a Sprint number.
I've replaced the Sprint SIM with an Avea Turkish prepaid SIM that has data and Blackberry capability. It works fine for phone and text, but no ability to register the email with Avea Blackberry. Tech support there unable to determine the problem (unable to connect to server is the error message, both with phone and online).If I can deactive the Sprint number will that help? Or am I just out of luck.
I have an issue with my BB Tour.When I woke up this mourning and took my bb off the charger.I notice there were HLhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhl type on my bb so I tried to press the esc button and the end button and it didn't work. So I did a Battery pull and let it load up...and that when i found out that my trackball wasn't working.then all a sudden it started to type the HLlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhlh again.So I did a another battery pull and it did it again.So I wiped the phone decided to install 5.0 on my phone and I get the same thing.The only thing I did before my phone went hay wire was a couple days prior.I downloaded a couple free themes and screen saver from BB App World.I thought by doing the battery pull and wipe I would fix it but didn't. I know I didn't get my phone wet or anything can anybody explain this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedThis is my third Tour (I just got this one a week ago) and with it sitting in my pocket where I have service, not running ANY applications, it is running hot and draining battery very quickly. Did a battery pull, double checked memory leaks, and nothing is taking care of it. It's draining at about 15% per hour. Any thoughts (other than Tours suck.)

Specifically, when I change and appointment to a future date and then save that appointment, the calendar moves to that future date! This is terrible if you are moving several items out to future dates! Previously, the changed entry would just disappear from the screen (moved to the new, future date) and I would remain on the day I was working on.Secondly, when I open a future day in calendar, the “All Day Events” do not show first (as they used to). Instead you have to scroll up to see if there are any of these type events.Does anyone know of a way to change these settings/defaults.

However, I cannot get my tour device to show up in windows explorer. It connects and I can browse my media card. There is no drive in windows explorer for the device itself. I can connect to desktop manager and back-up my device memory so I know the computer can read my blackberry device. I upgraded the os with no problems.
I am running vista home premium with blackberry os 5.0 from sprint. I am on verizon. I do have mass storage mode enabled and all of those memory settings set to yes (auto connect, etc.). BBSAK and Blackberry Master Control Program see the device as well. I do not use roxio media manager and it is not installed with my desktop manager. It was too slow and clunky when I had my storm so I never bothered with it.
After I installed the new operating system I lost a feature. Both my husband and I have the Tour. For example, if you highlight the Games folder and press the Blackberry options, one Tour can choose "edit folder" and pick a new Icon. The other Tour mine is missing that choice. Any fix? If I create my own folder, I have the feature, but not for my Games, Applications and other folder that were there in the old OS.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI dropped my Tour and scratched up the bezel, and made the dumb decision to replace it. Long story short, I messed up switching over the buttons, and I stripped the screw putting it back in, so there's no going back to fix it. Now, when I press the keyboard lock button, it doesn't work. I figured out that I can hold down "A" on the homescreen to lock it, but now how do I unlock it?!
And PS: DON'T CHANGE YOUR HOUSING/BEZEL! I would much rather have a dinged up bezel than the situation I'm in now. Looks like I'm stuck with this Tour 'till December. I hope that people listen to my housing advice, and not be naive and ignore others like I did!
My Tour is 3 months old. Suddenly calls are dropping in the house and the battery charger is taking 10 hours to charge the spare OEM battery. Running the 5.0.419 and it's been fine. Verizon came out with theirs and it's so bad I went back to 419. Now I have an email from RIM saying new software for the phone is available but it doesn't say what version it is so I'm afraid to load it. Any one else have same issue? Phone was fine after going to the first 5.0 for 2 months but now after having changed from Verizon's 5.0. (been a month or so) the issues started about a week ago.
