BB Tour 9630 :: Is This A 3G Device?
Sep 15, 2010I just recently upgraded from the Curve 8330 and it still says 1XEV. My friend who works at VZW says it is 3G, if it is, it feels slow to me.

View 13 RepliesIMO, since I purchased my Tour - 9630 about a month ago, I believe it to be the best device for conference calls other than your PC and Windows Office Communicator.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI received a download notification weeks ago to my BlackBerry for a new software update and have been unable to download it. It keeps telling me to try it from My BlackBerry Desktop -- i have and it does do it.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI now have 3 programs that can reset my device - Quickpull, Quicklaunch and Meterberry.I am curious if they all do the same thing, or is one better than the other.I am definitely keeping QL and was wondering if I even need the other 2? I do like MB as it notifies you when your mem, battery etc is low.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've had my blackberry for awhile but I havnt heard about how often you should charge it. Does it matter? I can't let it go completely dead cause when its almost dead it stops receiving. I have a cradle charger I put it on everyday when I go to bed. I was going to get a siedo exntended battery but I didn't want to mess it up by charging too much.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHi all..I can't dial *100# (the interactive menu command from mobile provider)
when I push the dial button, it will make a normal call...it suppost not to make a call..it suppost to send the command to the network to get the interactive menu..
anyone facing the same problems?does this have any solutions?I already called my service provider and they said that it was a common problems..even when there re two same model blackberry, 1 can dial and the other one can't..
I've noticed that no matter how many times I try to close facebook it stays open and seems to slow my Tour down to a crawl. Constantly getting the spinning clock now. I've tried reinstalling facebook but that didn't help. Facebook isn't worth not having my Tour work but at that the same time why am I paying for a device that won't run apps without issues? It's really strange because nothing has changed and yet all of a sudden this issue has popped up. I also tried a battery pull but that seemed to make the problem worse, not better. After the battery pull I got the clock for about 10 minutes and the device was slow for a while after that

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can get all of my ringtones to change (phone, email, mms, etc) but I cannot get my SMS ringtone to change. I'll click the sound icon in the upper left hand corner, go to Set Ring Tones/Alerts>Messages>SMS Text and change the ringtone and then save it, but once I look in my phone book to verify it all of my ringtones are stuck on "Sanguine". The only way I can change my ringtone for my whole phone book is to go through and individually change the ringtone for each person.
A couple of months ago I had downloaded CrunchSMS, which I read on other threads may be the cause of the problem, but I deleted it shortly after downloading it. I have also taken out my battery and media card and done a full reboot.
I do not have my cable at home, and I am having the same problem. I am without a phone for at least the weekend.
There is no way to factory reset through the device? Old blackberry devices had this.
Also all I did was upgrade an app through blackberry's app store. How can that cause such a critical issue?
Is RIM working on that? I see this problem is very wide spread, makes you wonder what kind of QA work is being done on the dvices.
What it says is this.."Provisioning Status".."The network is configuring your device".then it says "Your device could not be registered with the wireless network. contact your wireless service provider",but i can call and receive sms!Any suggestions?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something here.... It appears that for each notification (e.g. each email address, the phone ringer, the calendar alarm, SMS text notification, etc.) you choose 1 setting that carries through to all the different "profiles" (e.g. loud, normal, vibrate), and that when you set it on the different profiles, it merely changes the volume of the ringer and whether or not it vibrates?
On my Curve 8330, I had to set each ringer in EACH profile, so if I wanted I could have BBPro1 as the phone ringer for "Loud," and BBPro2 as the phone ringer for "Normal," and BBPro3 as the phone ringer for "Medium," etc.... The Tour does not have this, does it?
Haven't been receiving e-mails most of today. Went to e-mail settings to check on what was up and received the above message. Sent an e-mail from my BB to myself and haven't gotten it yet, although my BB says it sent. I've tried alt-caps-del reboot and battery pull. Same problem. Internet browser works fine. I haven't installed or deleted any apps or anything.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy tour on the signal portion of my tour has shown my phone to be 1X instead of 1XEV...anybody else notice that with their tours or any other blackberry handset? Or is it just a Verizon thing?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm waiting for the Tour 2 to be released, but no one really seems to know when it's coming. Apparently it was supposed to be Feb 3, but was delayed. So then we were hearing it could be as late as April or May. I knew I couldn't wait that long so I bought a Tour on ebay last week. Now, just as I figured would happen, we're hearing it could be as early as within this week and if not, pretty much for sure within the next 30 days.
So I'm just wondering if you all think the price value of Tours on ebay will drop once the Tour 2 is released? I'm contemplating just turning around and selling mine now so I can be sure to get what I paid for it. But if the selling price will most likely stay the same even after the Essex is out, I'll probably just wait it out. I just don't want to lose a lot of money on the deal when I might only be using the phone for just a couple weeks!
I have a unlocked Blackberry Tour 9630 that I purchased off ebay. I'm using it with a generic T-mobile internet plan, (someone told me that it would work).
However, whenever I open the browser I would get this error: "Your decivce does not currently have any Browser Configration Service Book entries, Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device".What does this mean, and how can I fix it?
I'm trying to support nearly 100 Blackberries (mostly the Tour), and any wireless update breaks the phones with various results: anywhere from just deleting the email sync settings (all carriers) all the way to the phone unable to make/receive calls (just T-Mobile for the lack of calling, Verizon or AT&T seem unaffected thus far). We do *not* use a BES server, however, if that's what is needed, I'm certainly willing to go there. If and when an update is needed (by our standards), I will perform them. I really don't want anything coming from Blackberry, ever. I instruct users to hide the update icon, however, they always say it eventually comes back and keeps prompting to install the update. To rid themselves of the annoyance, they do the update, break the phone, then have the greater annoyance of waiting until I can get the phone fixed.

The device switch feature "Task in Process 'is going on 3 hours at this point and I'm afraid to stop it and restart it given the warning that the device may become unusable if you disconnect. Should I just disconnect it anyway? Download the latest software and try again? I don't think it should be taking 3 hours to complete this switch!

View 10 Replies View Relatedwhen I followed the directions from the CB guides on using AppLoader to upgrade OS, but this time around, it does NOT seem to be cooperating. I got a replacement Tour today and I proceeded to hook it up and use apploader to upgrade the OS, but it keeps giving me the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer." I installed both the 419 mobility and 484 sprint files (separate events obviously with the deleted vendor XML) and both of the installations gave me this message during the AppLoader process. I'm using Windows XP on VMWare on my Macbook to do this, and it's not working out.
