View 1 RepliesIt worked, but when the update of htc came in, it didn't download the update.
So, I uninstalled Super SU. Ofc, bad move... Had to undergo some steps in order to completely remove it.
So, i wanted to reset my HTC. It went into a booting menu, and I thought I had to select what to delete ( wrong, it already deleted everything, all i needed was to reboot)... so, i deleted EVERYTHING on my HTC, now it's obviously not working anymore. What can I do to at least re-install an OS on it?
It was bought from the Emirates, it's an M8 Gold Edition. Not sure what version it is..
I thought I would take this as the perfect chance to do a full wipe/reset/re-install of Android and and everything on the deivce as I'm sure it shouldn't freeze and be as slow as it is at times. What is the best way to do a full backup of the device (in case things go wrong)? What is the best way to wipe/reset my phone and completely re-install the latest available OS for it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday I installed CM13 on my phone and I had some problems so I wanted to revert to stock rom. I had a backup made with TWRP, so I installed it but TWRP crashed when doing so, so I tried it again but this time I wiped everything (internal storage aswell...), which was a bad idea, because it deleted my backup aswell (didn't think of that).
After that I downloaded the 6.0.1 (MMB29M) Stock image from the Google Developers site, rebooted into bootloader and tried using the flash-all script to flash the stock rom (I put all the files into the plattform-tools folder). But when flashing Radio, etc. it showed that it wasn't possible because of an unknown error and then it said that boot.sig or so was missing. After that the script crashed.
Now here I am with no data on my phone and I don't know how to flash anything (trying sideload with TWRP doesn't work aswell because it says that my device is offline). How can I get the script to work ?
Is there a way to do a complete wipe and start new but keep all the contacts? My phones mem is leaking down dramatically and I want to start anew!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have unsuccessfully tried to set up an OWA email account, at first from my Torch 9810 running OS7, and then from the BIS interface. I know all of the correct settings, as I have set up this account on other non-Blackberry devices, but I continue to get an error stating something is wrong. Just to be safe, and because I never underestimate my ability to mess something up, I have tried many combinatins of my user name and mailbox name. No luck no matter what I try.

View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday I received a notification of a BBM Update. So I do, as I always have done in the past, the upgrade. But this time it's different. After my BB reboots my BBM Icon has vanished completely off of my phone. I then go into My World Apps. It says it's installed. And in no way can you uninstall it or delete it so it can be reinstalled? I also tried restoring my phone to before I upgraded it, but that didn't work.I don't get it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI decided to back up my data because I wanted to security wipe my phone and just restore the really important files I have. I security-wiped my phone just now because it's lagging a lot and I'm trying to set up my BBM. It's leading me nowhere but a message saying "Associating BBM with your Blackberry ID". It's been at it for hours and I'm really frustrated that I regret wiping it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMuch to my absolute horror, my 9-year old son handed me my phone with the message 'Wiping' on the screen with a progress bar - Daddy what is this? Oh my God!!! All of my Contacts were permanently lost and I had to set up my phone from scratch again - out of box. I'm guessing it's because he tried to guess my password again. The last time he tried to guess my password about 6 months ago, the phone did not Wipe itself out. Why it would wipe itself out is totally ridiculous. If a would-be thief actually somehow guessed my password, he deserves to have my Contacts, as I choose a password that cannot be guessed. It's up to the user how secure they want their phone by choosing a password of a certain level. It's not up to RIM to choose DEFCON 1 as soon as someone exceeds the number of retries set. It makes me want to get rid of my Blackberry altogether and get a phone that has a more reasonable security measures sequence of events. At the very least, there should be some kind of warning on the screen upon enabling the 'Password Lock' feature that states, 'the phone will be wiped if the number of retries is exceeded, it is highly recommended to Backup your Data using the Blackberry Manager PC software, in order to allow your phone to be quickly configured back to the state of when you backed it up, in the event a security wipe is activated'. I learned later that this was in the manual, but who actually reads the manual? I don't even know where my manual is. If I had known this, I would have most definitely backed it up. I think that since I'm basically starting from scratch, I may as well get another phone, but not one that has this ridiculous feature like Blackberry's.

how to transfer or copy my complete address book from my BB Torch 9800 to another smartphone and vice-versa?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen restoring my old torch 9800, to the new 9860, my address book will only transfer 322 contacts out of more than 700, and I have not been able to restore the complete address book. Does any body know what might be happening? I have tried complete restore and custom restore, selecting only the address book, and it stops at 322 contacts always!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to transfer all of my contacts from from an older torch 9800 to a new torch 9800 but only a portion of the contacts are being copied. I have tried backup-restore via desktop software etc... but it's not copying the complete list. Tried to do it at AT&T store but that just duplicated the 425 contacts that I all ready had. After I manually deleted all of the duplicates....Tried again to no avail.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am owner of a Blackberry 9800 Torch for about a year and now it does not startup. I turned the phone off last night and this morning it does not start up. I didn't make any changes to the phone so very strange. The behaviour is that when I take the battery out and it turns on, the load screen start but the little white line only starts a little (2mm line) and then it restarts and does the same thing and loop over and over again in this till battery runs out. I have tired to enter Safe mode by holding in the Escape bottom when the load screen starts or when the red light turn off but it does not enter Safe mode.

View 5 Replies View Relatedthe phone encrypted some files in the default Blackberry folder on the external Media Card with .rem extension (mostly .jpg files). I had to wipe the phone and since then I cannot open those files - even with setting from reloaded backup file (the backup did not offer the saving of Media Card content). how can I get those file back? The encryption of the Media Card is On (default company setting) but the "Include Media Files" is Off and the encryption Mode is "Device Key".
View 1 Replies View RelatedTo improve the security on my phone, I engaged the password feature. In trying to get back in my phone I must have entered the password incorrectly. When the maximum attempts had been used, the phone went through wiping and my phone was totally reset. My BBM listing and contact listing were all lost and even my BBM pin was changed. My phone was previously backed up on my computer but the computer is identifying my phone as a different divice. is there any way to get my computer to load my contact lists on the phone after it had been wiped in this way?

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy newly purchased Blackberry 9800 has just gone blank. I'm so sure it's not a battery problem because I have tried other batteries. It just happened abruptly. There was no physical damage to the device. The device, fully charged has been on, and when I tried making a call later in the day, I found a blank screen. When I did a hard reset, the screen remained blank with the indicator light beaming red for a few seconds, and then flashes red light four times at rhythmic interval
