BB Torch :: Open File With .rem Extension After Wipe?
Nov 26, 2012
the phone encrypted some files in the default Blackberry folder on the external Media Card with .rem extension (mostly .jpg files). I had to wipe the phone and since then I cannot open those files - even with setting from reloaded backup file (the backup did not offer the saving of Media Card content). how can I get those file back? The encryption of the Media Card is On (default company setting) but the "Include Media Files" is Off and the encryption Mode is "Device Key".
My son got this a few days ago and he wants to put his favorite movie on his phone, so he can watch it on long trips. Is this possible and if so what format do i need to convert the movie into?
I recorded a video on my LG V10 and then used a third party app to upload the video to a site. The video uploaded labeled as a Gallery_File with no extension. It will not play on the site.
I have changed the file extension and it appears in my library under tones. When I go there the voice memo is there. I sync the phone but the tone does not appear in my ringtones on my iphone 4
I decided to back up my data because I wanted to security wipe my phone and just restore the really important files I have. I security-wiped my phone just now because it's lagging a lot and I'm trying to set up my BBM. It's leading me nowhere but a message saying "Associating BBM with your Blackberry ID". It's been at it for hours and I'm really frustrated that I regret wiping it.
Much to my absolute horror, my 9-year old son handed me my phone with the message 'Wiping' on the screen with a progress bar - Daddy what is this? Oh my God!!! All of my Contacts were permanently lost and I had to set up my phone from scratch again - out of box. I'm guessing it's because he tried to guess my password again. The last time he tried to guess my password about 6 months ago, the phone did not Wipe itself out. Why it would wipe itself out is totally ridiculous. If a would-be thief actually somehow guessed my password, he deserves to have my Contacts, as I choose a password that cannot be guessed. It's up to the user how secure they want their phone by choosing a password of a certain level. It's not up to RIM to choose DEFCON 1 as soon as someone exceeds the number of retries set. It makes me want to get rid of my Blackberry altogether and get a phone that has a more reasonable security measures sequence of events. At the very least, there should be some kind of warning on the screen upon enabling the 'Password Lock' feature that states, 'the phone will be wiped if the number of retries is exceeded, it is highly recommended to Backup your Data using the Blackberry Manager PC software, in order to allow your phone to be quickly configured back to the state of when you backed it up, in the event a security wipe is activated'. I learned later that this was in the manual, but who actually reads the manual? I don't even know where my manual is. If I had known this, I would have most definitely backed it up. I think that since I'm basically starting from scratch, I may as well get another phone, but not one that has this ridiculous feature like Blackberry's.
i recently did a security wipe on my phone and can no longer use my email accounts. i can only read but can reply to them, and it doesnt let me see which account the message is from (i have 3 different accounts). when i go to setup email account my phone freezes
To improve the security on my phone, I engaged the password feature. In trying to get back in my phone I must have entered the password incorrectly. When the maximum attempts had been used, the phone went through wiping and my phone was totally reset. My BBM listing and contact listing were all lost and even my BBM pin was changed. My phone was previously backed up on my computer but the computer is identifying my phone as a different divice. is there any way to get my computer to load my contact lists on the phone after it had been wiped in this way?
Tried opening a pdf file while using Continuum but the pdf apps like Adobe Acrobat and Xodo aren't supported. Maybe I'm missing something...you would think a fundamental file format that has been around for 50 bazillion years would be supported.
My Voyager VX10000 had issues and I got a replacement. In Bitpim I found the MMS folder, which I can backup and transfer all of the files, but they are saved as .PDU Does anyone know of a program that I can use to open the PDU file to see what is in this PIX or FLIX message? I'll just transfer all PDU files from one phone to the other and delete the ones I don't want, but I would like to view them from the PC as well to see what is in them. Does anyone know of a program that will do this AND let me view the picture or video associated with it? I found PDUDecoder, but it doesn't show the pix/flix.
Is there anyway to basically wipe out a torch? I want all the pictures and everything gone kind of like a blank slate is there anyway to make this happen?
I can't open or read a PDF file I copied to my curve8250 from my laptop so I emailed it to my phone as an attachment and my phone has a little question mark in the little box in my email header when it arrives and if I try to open it I get then message "This attachment type cannot be viewed on your device". how I can read a PDF on my phone?
How do I open a saved .ipd file that I backed up my Blackberry to? I washed my phone a few days ago and can't get it to start again. I was hoping to at least get some of my planner printed by using this file.
I connected my nokia 5130 to pc and transferred some files via data cable... after that few files on my phone memry card are not opening like music, images etc. their format has been changed to .exe and it says file format not supported.
Why is my bb telling me it "cannot open" an xls and a doc file? I can find the files on my media card, but when I try to open them, I get the error message ... I'm using OS 4.5.something, so I'm assuming I have docs to go, but can find no reference to it on my bb anywhere in any menu, and cannot open the files? (I'm on a Sprint 8330, if that makes any diff ...)
I can't open my media file..It's empty but I can see my files only when I connect it to PC. And when I try to open the media card from the file folder gives me this message UNABLE TO DISPLAY FILE/MEDIA CARD.
