Yesterday I received a notification of a BBM Update. So I do, as I always have done in the past, the upgrade. But this time it's different. After my BB reboots my BBM Icon has vanished completely off of my phone. I then go into My World Apps. It says it's installed. And in no way can you uninstall it or delete it so it can be reinstalled? I also tried restoring my phone to before I upgraded it, but that didn't work.I don't get it?
I've been running a copy of windows live messenger on my e71 successfully for over a year - the other day (and no, I hadn't run any updates recently) I tried to use it and found the icon has just vanished! - it was still listed in App. Mgr. as "installed" but there was no icon anywhere, not in "installations" etc. etc. i updated the phone firmware, uninstalled in app.mgr reinstalled etc. etc. tried different .sis no joy at all - any ideas? it's almost if it's being hidden - is there some app I can use to see the icon location of installed apps?
Weird one this but I've just noticed my Blackberry app world icon has vanished from my phone. It still appears as an installed application, but there's no way to find it and run it. I know this was an issue last year with another phone, I am surprised if its still a bug? I know there has been a recent upgrade to app world and I've backed up my phone.
Anyone know why my email folder icon has dissappeared? The SMS/MMS and other MEssages one is still there, but for some reason the one specifically for my emails has vanished. Sent myself a "test" email from work to my personal email account and i can receive as it went into my "generic" messages folder.
I had a notification telling me there was a new version of Blackberry App World available. So as usual I updated it and then continued with the reboot that was needed after. I didn't look but later that day I wanted to download something and was shocked to find blackberry appeared was not there. It still shows as being downloaded on my phones management but it is not on the menu. I have deleted it and reinstalled it off the website but it still doesn't come back.
I dont know how but my inbox for my text messages vanished, maybe i accidentily deleted it when it was in my pocket but even when people send me a txtmessage i dont see it in the popup menu or get an alarm anymore, the only way i can check if i have new messages is when i open up the textmessage folder in the general message folder.
My message icon on the main screen "menu" vanished. I can no longer receive messages, and all the messages that I had stored vanished, since the message icon disappeared. I seem however, able to send messages by going to the email, but instead of composing email, i compose sms. However, I never get any replies. The message icon disappeared approximately two weeks ago. I went to the 02 store and the technical assistant took my phone for about 30 minutes, and then gave it back to me, saying he had no idea what had happened. He initially thought it had been "hiden" but it appears to be no where!
I have unsuccessfully tried to set up an OWA email account, at first from my Torch 9810 running OS7, and then from the BIS interface. I know all of the correct settings, as I have set up this account on other non-Blackberry devices, but I continue to get an error stating something is wrong. Just to be safe, and because I never underestimate my ability to mess something up, I have tried many combinatins of my user name and mailbox name. No luck no matter what I try.
Latest desktop software.Stops at about 98%, while "Backing up Smart Card Options 1 of 1 Record". Never finishes, cancel doesn't work. Have to pull the USB cable to stop process, no file is placed in the backup folder. IT USED TO WORK.
My tried to update my blackberry torch via blackberry desktop software. But the device got disconnected before the update was complete. The software was installed but the device was rebooting when it was disconnected. Now i m trying to reboot it manually but it is not starting. After sometimes a white screen appears which says aap error 100 reset?
I want to remove old and bad addresses (or just reset the whole list) from my auto complete list. What i DO OT want to do is turn the system off.
I like the system but everytime i pick my boss from the list when i type in his name, i get 2 other addresses that are NOT his email, but i had 3 months ago recieved an email from a website that sends news articles and it put his name in the sender but their address
Do not post if your just going to say to turn off "Show Recent Contacts when Composing Email"
When restoring my old torch 9800, to the new 9860, my address book will only transfer 322 contacts out of more than 700, and I have not been able to restore the complete address book. Does any body know what might be happening? I have tried complete restore and custom restore, selecting only the address book, and it stops at 322 contacts always!
I am trying to transfer all of my contacts from from an older torch 9800 to a new torch 9800 but only a portion of the contacts are being copied. I have tried backup-restore via desktop software etc... but it's not copying the complete list. Tried to do it at AT&T store but that just duplicated the 425 contacts that I all ready had. After I manually deleted all of the duplicates....Tried again to no avail.
Is there anyway to basically wipe out a torch? I want all the pictures and everything gone kind of like a blank slate is there anyway to make this happen?
I have both the DT-900 wireless charging plate and the DT-901 wireless charging stand. They both have a charge light that stays on when charging and goes off when charging is complete. I've notice that with the Icon the light never goes out when the phone is fully charged. When I charge my 822 the light goes out when it's fully charged.
I am new to BB and have had the Torch for 2 weeks.Today, while on the phone, my call has been interrupted by an update. The call is dropped and the phone shuts off to complete an update. Is this normal? Do I need to change some of the options?
I got a BB Torch, i tried to set up the email by following the demo online, but there is no personal email setting on there just work email, and i tried to set up my email as enterprise account, it showed activation request failed.
I was texting today and my messages app froze. When I tried to open it again, the app stalled at a white screen and froze. When I closed it and reopened it, all of my texts were gone. The app loads but there's just no texts. I can send and receive texts fine, and sending a text doesn't load the previous lost messages just the new ones. I tried restarting my phone 3-4 times and hard resetting it with the power and home buttons. I hard closed the messages app by holding the home button and clicking X. Nothing Loads the texts. If I type anything in spotlight, all the texts come up, but clicking on it takes me to the empty messages app. I need my texts back. I have hundreds of photos, contacts, and important work data in those texts.
restoring my phone from a back up or resetting all data is not an option. My laptop was water damaged in a flood along with any backups. I have thousands of photos on my phone so I will not restore to factory settings. I know the texts are still there because I had well over a GB of texts and since they vanished, no space has been freed up.
I reloaded my OS 4.5 onto my 8320 and the BBM ICon vanished though it still shows in the applications info. The Phone prevents me from reloading it again saying your session has expired the moment I click on the browser. Is there anyway I can load the BBM app via the Desktop or how do I get the Icon back and running on the Home Screen.
Checking for system update on the phone showed an update build no. 23.1.A.0.690 which apparently is Android Lollipop was available via PC Companion only. So I connected via PC and followed the instructions. It took a while to download the Android L update and message prompted that the device will turn off. The device then turned off and the message on the PC Companion said that there was no updates available.
Now even my PC Companion says I'm running the latest version which is Kitkat. I tried checking for an update over phone. It says I've got the latest version...
On my blackberry torch home screen, there is status icon on top which consists of a red circle with a white "w" in the middle of it. Just to the right is the number "1". Does anyone know what this means?
