Mar 31, 2010I've been running a copy of windows live messenger on my e71 successfully for over a year - the other day (and no, I hadn't run any updates recently) I tried to use it and found the icon has just vanished! - it was still listed in App. Mgr. as "installed" but there was no icon anywhere, not in "installations" etc. etc. i updated the phone firmware, uninstalled in app.mgr reinstalled etc. etc. tried different .sis no joy at all - any ideas? it's almost if it's being hidden - is there some app I can use to see the icon location of installed apps?

Dec 11, 2012Yesterday I received a notification of a BBM Update. So I do, as I always have done in the past, the upgrade. But this time it's different. After my BB reboots my BBM Icon has vanished completely off of my phone. I then go into My World Apps. It says it's installed. And in no way can you uninstall it or delete it so it can be reinstalled? I also tried restoring my phone to before I upgraded it, but that didn't work.I don't get it?

Sep 3, 2011Weird one this but I've just noticed my Blackberry app world icon has vanished from my phone. It still appears as an installed application, but there's no way to find it and run it. I know this was an issue last year with another phone, I am surprised if its still a bug? I know there has been a recent upgrade to app world and I've backed up my phone.

I seem however, able to send messages by going to the email, but instead of composing email, i compose sms. However, I never get any replies. The message icon disappeared approximately two weeks ago. I went to the 02 store and the technical assistant took my phone for about 30 minutes, and then gave it back to me, saying he had no idea what had happened. Jun 22, 2014I was texting today and my messages app froze. When I tried to open it again, the app stalled at a white screen and froze. When I closed it and reopened it, all of my texts were gone. The app loads but there's just no texts. I can send and receive texts fine, and sending a text doesn't load the previous lost messages just the new ones. I tried restarting my phone 3-4 times and hard resetting it with the power and home buttons. I hard closed the messages app by holding the home button and clicking X. Nothing Loads the texts. If I type anything in spotlight, all the texts come up, but clicking on it takes me to the empty messages app. I need my texts back. I have hundreds of photos, contacts, and important work data in those texts.
restoring my phone from a back up or resetting all data is not an option. My laptop was water damaged in a flood along with any backups. I have thousands of photos on my phone so I will not restore to factory settings. I know the texts are still there because I had well over a GB of texts and since they vanished, no space has been freed up.

I checked my Xbox account and it shows I'm signed in.

So I connected via PC and followed the instructions. It took a while to download the Android L update and message prompted that the device will turn off. The device then turned off and the message on the PC Companion said that there was no updates available.
Now even my PC Companion says I'm running the latest version which is Kitkat. I tried checking for an update over phone. It says I've got the latest version...
BB Bold 9000 :: Where Have Missed Calls Vanished Too
Feb 4, 2010I have the Blackberry Bold on the Vodafone UK network.Last week once it became available , I updated to the new 5.0.0.411 S/ware.On the whole I have had no problems , however I have noticed that my battery life is most definitely not as good as before the update.The one thing I have noticed is that my Missed Calls Log has vanished , & I just can't seem to get it back.
On the old s/ware , if I couldn't take a call I just had to then press the green button & there would automatically be a list of that , & all other missed calls.
Now when someone calls & I choose not to take it , if I then press close , however then press the green key to see the log , the missed call log is not there. All that's displayed is the actual Call Log. I agree that the number that called me is there with the missed call symbol next to it , however this is in the complete call log.
How van I retrieve this Missed Call Log only? In my line of work , it is certainly possible that I will legitimately miss calls during the course of the day. It will become very annoying if I can now not view them at a glance.
BB Curve :: Invite Attendees Function Has Vanished
Aug 19, 2011The option to "invite attendees" on the calendar has just vanished from my wife's Curve 9300!It worked perfectly a few days ago. So far I have completed the following procedures without any success:
1. done soft reset & hard resets: battery out & in whilst BB is on; alt/del buttons for soft reset.
2. done the hosting route table connection thing
3. checked default services and made sure the CICAL calendar is set to the correct email provider (gmail, in this case), no conflicting accounts appeared.
4. checked the phone has updated software: it has the newest service book.
5. Restored just the calendar from a previous backup using the BB desktop software.None of this has worked.Finally, I have downloaded the same up to date service book but have NOT reinstalled it because I do not know how. BTW: on resending service book I followed instructions and downloaded the exe. file onto the media card (it was too large for the phone memory) but have not accessed this or installed it yet or rebooted the phone.

Apr 18, 2012I had a notification telling me there was a new version of Blackberry App World available. So as usual I updated it and then continued with the reboot that was needed after. I didn't look but later that day I wanted to download something and was shocked to find blackberry appeared was not there. It still shows as being downloaded on my phones management but it is not on the menu. I have deleted it and reinstalled it off the website but it still doesn't come back.

Apr 23, 2010I've messed up my n900. I installed OpenJazz from extras-devel (stupidly ignoring warnings about using extras-devel as a noob) and it appears to have killed the phone.
Now all my desktop widgets have vanished (when I add one, it disappears from the list of available widgets, but isn't visible on the screen), and I can't run any applications (apart from built in things like Calendar and Settings).
I guess I've messed up a system file somewhere and I need to reflash the device, but before I do that I wanted to see if anyone's had this before, and if it's solvable without reflashing? It'd also be interesting to know if anyone can identify exactly what the problem is...
