i backed up my blackberry to do a security wipe as instructed by carrier as had some issues. it appears my pictures, music and ringtones ive added have vanished. does it wipe your memory card?

View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter installing Wifi File Transfer, I accidentally renamed the "store/" folder and now I cannot access the device memory on my Curve 8520. Opening the device memory in the Files app just shows a blank screen. I've lost all preloaded pictures and tones, as well as pictures stored on the onboard memory.If I take a picture with the camera and press Rename, a box will show up with the full path to the device memory, which is supposed to be "Device Memory/home/user/pictures". I can't access that anymore. I also can't access "Device Memory/samples" which contains the ringtones and pictures.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe option to "invite attendees" on the calendar has just vanished from my wife's Curve 9300!It worked perfectly a few days ago. So far I have completed the following procedures without any success:
1. done soft reset & hard resets: battery out & in whilst BB is on; alt/del buttons for soft reset.
2. done the hosting route table connection thing
3. checked default services and made sure the CICAL calendar is set to the correct email provider (gmail, in this case), no conflicting accounts appeared.
4. checked the phone has updated software: it has the newest service book.
5. Restored just the calendar from a previous backup using the BB desktop software.None of this has worked.Finally, I have downloaded the same up to date service book but have NOT reinstalled it because I do not know how. BTW: on resending service book I followed instructions and downloaded the exe. file onto the media card (it was too large for the phone memory) but have not accessed this or installed it yet or rebooted the phone.
I had a blackberry app world update earlier on. So I updated it. But now... it's just completely vanished from my home screen. And I can't find it anywhere. How do I get it back?!

Normally I wouldn't sweat loosing pictures, but these are very important to me.It restored every picture up until the backup I did before I left Sunday morning. I have a blackberry 8520. I started having a problem with my memory card recently. When I connect my phone to my computer I can transfer music and pictures to my memory card. But once I disconnect it, I can't get anything i.e. the music folder is empty as well as the picture folder&video folder. I've formatted my memory card, and redid the process and still its the same problem. Taken my phone apart still the same problem. And I've checked and in my settings it says my memory card is inserted even shows how much space I have left etc. I can't even store any pics I take or see them on my phone I can't even rename them cause it tells me that operation isn't allowed on a read only file. I've checked my settings and its setting is everything must be saved to my memory card even changed the amount or size of pics. Even changed the type of pictures that can be taken from super fine to normal.

My message icon on the main screen "menu" vanished. I can no longer receive messages, and all the messages that I had stored vanished, since the message icon disappeared. I seem however, able to send messages by going to the email, but instead of composing email, i compose sms. However, I never get any replies. The message icon disappeared approximately two weeks ago. I went to the 02 store and the technical assistant took my phone for about 30 minutes, and then gave it back to me, saying he had no idea what had happened. He initially thought it had been "hiden" but it appears to be no where!

View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got a 6350. I know that there are probably lots of places where I can download ringtones. However, I wanted to mention that I am unhappy with the limited number of default ringtones (about 12). Even my 5 year old Nokia had more choices.
Additionally, all the options play music. There is nothing that is less annoying / more professional sounding. Just a simple ring or beep sequence. So, I'm just learning. Please point me at a good place to download non-song ring tones for this phone. I'm on AT&T if that's an issue.
I am trying to get the custom ringtones onto my 920 but zune does support the 920, how to transfer the mp3 tones so that the custom folder appears in the ringtone section. The phone is using windows 8.
