To this point has anyone been able to get Ringtones and pictures on the U340 via bitpim or anyother software that is similar? I bought the plug online and i have found the Driver but cannot figure out how to get Ringtones of pictures on!
View 2 RepliesI am with Cricket and tried for long time to use my mobile web plan on my samsung u340 for my computer with no luck. I already installed the driver for windows 7 and able to communicate with the phone with no problem; I have my USB cable for the U340; I followed the instrudtions on the web and set up a dialup networking for my PC. Username is the (10 digits of my cell)@mycricket.com, password is "cricket", the dial number is "#777". I always got "Error 678". I called cricket and they said I need to get in their boardband plan $45/mo. and get the USB modem in order to have internet on my PC. One reason I pay more for the mobile web is trying to use it on my PC, otherwise I will not do the mobile web since it takes forever to send an email with the phone.Is it because of the Samsung u340 won't work with the #777 OR I did something wrong?Any help will be appreciated

i decided to go Cricket and got this Samsun U340. I downloaded one ringtone fine but now it keeps saying i already downloaded the others i tried to grab. I tried multi sites so it has to be the phone. It says i can replace it or cancel but only thing it shows/can do is hit cancel. I know this phone is not super great but until i get another i am stuck with it. I like to put a few decent tones and a couple wallpapers and would be happy.The wallpaper problem is it shows the image only. There is no option to save it in web browser or gmail email. I tried email with attachment and a hyperlink. I went in menu to see if i can save it but nothing. I used cell phones for about 5 years with non prepaid services. This is the first prepaid i used and wow it is sure limited. If anyone can help me and used this cell and got it to work would be great.

The only thing left for me to do with this phone is to get some games put onto it. I have read previous posts which stated, as I know already, that the phone doesn't come with any games already on it. I went to www.tagtag.com to put games onto the phone but .jad & .jar files aren't compatible with the phone at all. Which game file format, if any, is compatible with the phone?

I cant seem to find a song that is loud they are all softer. Rogers, of course, has locked it to accept only Rogers DRM ringtones, and the Sony DRM wrapper doesn't seem to work on this phone.My odd question is this: If she were to buy a ringtone from Rogers, is it possible to take the DRM header from the bought file and use it on a different MP3 file?Also, any other ideas are welcome. She desperately wants her Doctor Who ringtones back.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just figured out how to add ringtones to your Convoy with bitpim. I started with this thread from grc which say the that Convoy can be recognized through bitpim by manually selecting the SCH-U750 (Alias 2) phone....
The ringtone will actually get written into your sounds instead of your ringtone folder but it can still be used as a ringtone just the same.
first of all leave your phone in usb sync mode and DO NOT switch it to modem mode.
1 Start Bitpim
2 Hook your phone to the computer with the usb cable. Phone will be recognized in bitpim as other cdma phone. Open your phone and hit clear so that sync mode is closed and your wallpaper comes up. DO NOT unhook your phone from the cable. The phone will momentarily disconnect from bitpim and then reconnect. SWEET NOW
3 Go to edit and then to settings in bitpim. Manually set your phone to SCH-U750 (Alias 2)
4 Go to media in bitpim and click on SOUNDS. Now click the add music note at the top and make the ringtone as you normally would. when your finished making it send it to your phone with the add ringtone button and once your phone restarts, check your SOUNDS folder in your phone.....
GRC for getting the ball rolling...I guess this will have to work untill they update bitpim...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got this phone about 3 weeks ago and just got my data cable and sd card and such the other day. I downloaded a couple of songs to use as ringtones and they are in the correct folder on my card. I set one as my ringtone and called my cell phone from my house phone and it worked. I cut my phone off and I was going to show my wife what it sounded like (when she got off work). The ringtone was set back to one of the originals that came on the phone. I have looked and looked and it seems like no one else has had this problem. I even deleted those songs and tried a new one. It worked fine until I cut the phone off and back on. Same results. I ave this through NET 10 by the way.

I read a lot of complaints (myself included) about the very low volume when the R451C rings. I believe someone on here recommended zedge.net for free cell phone stuff. I went to their site and searched "super loud" under ringtones and downloaded one that was pretty good. I believe it was called "Turbo Alarm". Now, I know you guys love your mp3's by your favorite artist/band/etc., but this solved the low volume problem for me.

Or does anyone know the cost from Rogers to me for transferring new ringtones to phone? Rogers wasnt able to confirm prior to my transferring the ringtones.

Provider is Rogers and I know that this in itself will create problems, but I was able to find a work-around for my cell (same provider, different phone). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
