LG :: 220c How To Put Own Ringtones & Pictures Onto Phone?
May 26, 2010
I just purchased the Straight Talk LG220c phone & I have found out how to put my own ringtones & pictures onto the phone thanks to this forum. The only thing left for me to do with this phone is to get some games put onto it. I have read previous posts which stated, as I know already, that the phone doesn't come with any games already on it. I went to www.tagtag.com to put games onto the phone but .jad & .jar files aren't compatible with the phone at all. Which game file format, if any, is compatible with the phone?
I'm unclear on how the process of installing new java apps is supposed to work. I can move jar/jad files via my USB cable in mass storage mode, but then what? Nothing is really recognized. Is there a hidden menu I need to open? Also, is there a way to delete the pictures and ringtones that come with this phone?
I just got a Samsung M300. I purchased a USB data cable so I could move pictures and ringtones from my PC to the phone. I have looked high and low for a program that will work with my phone but I can't find anything! Bitpim doesn't have my phone as an option so it doesn't work.
I have converted everything that needs to be converted, and the songs i have chose are in my "Ringtones" section on my iPhone, but when i sync the songs they still do not come up in my phone..? any ideas on what to do
I recently got the Dare and hooked it up to my computer with the USB cable. I discovered that the Dare doesn't work like an mp3 player or usb. I want to put pictures and music from my computer into the Dare. I'm guessing that the only way you can do this is through a microSD card?
To this point has anyone been able to get Ringtones and pictures on the U340 via bitpim or anyother software that is similar? I bought the plug online and i have found the Driver but cannot figure out how to get Ringtones of pictures on!
For some reason, I can't find or see the pictures or ringtones that I have on my device memory. When I look at the Media > Pictures > My Picture, all I see is what I have on the media card. When I look at the Media > Ringtones, all I get is the standard ringtones. There is no device memory folder in either the picture or ringtone folder.
I know that the pictures exist somewhere (probably on my device memory) because it still shows up as my wallpaper. I know that the ringtones exists because I can still use them as custom ringtones. How do I view what's on my device memory folder?
I just bought motorola V3r two nights ago. I know there is no way you can set it up with a drivers from V3 After that i almost gave up, but then i found out that why dont i just use official software from Motorola Corparations. Its called Motorola Mobile Phone Tools or just Motorola Phone tools.DONT BUY THE CD there is no CD key for it, so you can just download and use it easily. If anyone intrested in this software, i can upload it online for you. I have diffrent languages to it too. (only for the program, it will not change language for your cell phone).I speak russian, so it would be easy for me to explain to you if you know it. Myself, i used 1 program to change the quality of song so that it would not take too much space on your cell phone and Cutting files program, which is already comes with Motorola Phone tools. I added many mp3's to my cell phone then i also added some pictures.
THIS IS NO HACKING, its all oficial to do.Intrested? leave me a message and ill upload the software for you also if you do already have this MOTOROLA PHONE TOOLS then JUST UPdate it and it will recognize your PHONE as Motorola V3R
I am looking for a way to transfer pictures and ringtones to my glyde from my mac. I have bluetooth on my mac but it wont give me any capabilities I don't think it has drivers for it yet and when you plug in the provided usb cable. Nothing happens. How can I transfer files with my mac?
I tried to delete them by doing it with P2KCommander but for some reason I can't see the locked files, so I can't delete anything.. If there is anyway.. please let me know, I hate these lame ringtones and pictures.. also is there a way to install java games? I tried using MotoMidMan but it just keeps freezing on me..
I am brand new and charging phone. I have contacts with pictures and customized ringtones from old LG env. Staying on Verizon. I know I can use Verizon Backup Assistant to convert contacts but will that only convert the names and numbers, emails?
next to each thumbnail of a picture in my media, there is a little lock. and in the ringtones, whenever i try to preview a ringtone it says "unable to display file". Same with Videos and music. I can't access ANY of my media. Does anyone know how to "unlock" this media?
my media card that i have had since i got the phone and has all my ringtones and pictures on has suddenly been going in and out one minute my ringtones and pictures are there and the next they are all gone and i turn off the phone and they come back and then dissapear again. when i look at the media card option it says that the media card isn't formated but i know that it is. is there anyway to fix it other then getting a new phone?
I just switched from Verizon to ATT and picked up a couple of a737's for me and my wife.
Prior to this we were using an LG VX8000 and VX8100. I was using an after market cable to upload and download pictures, music and mp3 ringtones. I think those phones had serial ports and I had to load drivers that allowed them to work connected to my usb port on my computer. Installing the driver would put COM ports in to the listings in the Device Manager.
I don't plan to be moving data in and out of the phone every day. Maybe once a month at most.
I'm wondering what the preferred method of moving data is?
1) a cable? Should I buy something inexpensive from someone on ebay or an advertiser here on HoFo? If I do buy the cable does it need to come with software drivers? Should I pay more and get something from the ATT store? Is the phone connector USB so that I don't have to install a weird serial to USB driver?
2) should I do it with a micro SD card? I will probably buy one of these to be able to hold some music. I have a Dell monitor with card slots on the side but I think it doesn't have micro SD. It has "SM/SD/MS/MMC". I will need a little micro SD reader if I want to do it that way. Any recommendations for which one to buy?
3) is there possibly InfraRed under the black plastic on the top of the phone? If so, what is that for?
I was using Bitpim with my LG phones. Is there an equivalent for the Samsung? Maybe Bitpim works with the Samsung?
I have a nokia 5800 xm i brought it from ebay brand new but just lately when i go to my pictures folder and view the thumbs of my pictures the phone freezes and i have to switch it of and back on which takes about 20sec before it will switch off.
I just recently bought a M620 and bought a memory card for it, I put music on my memory and was wondering if there was any way of using the songs on my memory card as a ringtone, also the same problem with using pictures as backgrounds.
I am starting this thread because I just got the LG Voyager Flashed for use on the Metro PCS network with Metro Flash. The phone rocks, and I have downloaded movies and games to it.As whoever who flashes this phone with Metro PCS will know, alot of features get disabled when you do this. Below is a list of the features that no longer work. Lets work together and see if we can find some hacks or tricks to get some of these features back.Features that cease working when you Flash the phone with Metro Flash:
1. Internet does not work with Metro Web. Therefore, no internet.(Metro says there should be a fix for this in a couple of months)
2. Music player goes bye bye.(Anybody know how to re-install this application or find a suitable replacement)?
3. Cannot send pictures, or recieve pictures with the phone.
4. Navigator (GPS) ceases to work.
5. Mobile TV, no longer works.
Let's put our heads together and see if we can fix some of these problems. I for one really want the music player back. Also, I know LG's dont allow for .Jar applications. Does anybody know of a way to install new apps on the phone of any kind?
After installing Wifi File Transfer, I accidentally renamed the "store/" folder and now I cannot access the device memory on my Curve 8520. Opening the device memory in the Files app just shows a blank screen. I've lost all preloaded pictures and tones, as well as pictures stored on the onboard memory. If I take a picture with the camera and press Rename, a box will show up with the full path to the device memory, which is supposed to be "Device Memory/home/user/pictures". I can't access that anymore. I also can't access "Device Memory/samples" which contains the ringtones and pictures.
I accidentally deleted some pictures from my phone. I downloaded a software1 (not permitted to disclose the software) to recover my deleted pictures. However I could not recover them as this software was not free. I then downloaded blackberry desktop software and backed up everything. When I downloaded ZAR 9.1 it showed my memory card as being emptied. I then tried the software1 and it showed my memory card being emptied as well. I would like to learn how I can recover these pictures.
I've just gotten a Bold 9700 and noticed that even though I have the option to sync the profile pictures of my friends with my contacts profiles on the phone, the pictures for my phone contacts remain blank. The Facebook profiles are linked to my contacts and sometimes will show the Facebook profile picture but after a while the picture reverts to a blank icon again. I've also unselected the option to sync and re-enabled the option to update Blackberry contacts with my Facebook contacts to try and force the pictures to update but no success.
I was thinking that it might also be because of a conflict wiyth other apps trying to update the contact pictures seeing as I originally imported all my contatcs from my Gmail account but I am unable to figure out which other apps, if any, are updating contact pics and thereby turn them off.
Blackberry contacts linked to a LinkedIn profile show their LinkedIn profile pics correctly though and other than that I only have BB Messenger, GTalk, Windows Live Messenger and Facebook that are linked to my Blackberry contacts.Any ideas on how I can get my contacts' pictures to sync correctly with Facebook?
I have 2 phones with telus one samsung sch-a950 and a lg 245. I hacked into the samsung using unicdma and got my spc code and used qpst 291 to upload new ringtones. My question is can this be done with the Lg 245 if I got a usb cable for this phone. If so where can i get the drivers for the cable, and the procedure.
I am going to assume, for this writeup, that everyone reading this has already been through the "how-to" on MP3 Ringtones for this phone. If not, that thread can be viewed Here.Since I had no luck finding a writeup on background images, I decided to write one up myself, now that I have my new phone in hand and have figured it out. Step 1)Using a picture editing program, Shrink/crop your pictures to 176 x 220 Resolution. I used GIMP, which is basically a free version of Photoshop. Save the file to a location on your computer that you can easily find. Step 2) Snap a picture of something. it doesn't matter what... anything at all will work. remember what your phone titled the picture.Connect your phone to your computer. Open Bitpim. Select "filesystem". Step 3) find the file brew/mod/10888. Step 4) Locate the picture you took earlier. Right click and select "overwrite". Locate the wallpaper you saved on your computer and click "open".The picture is now on your cell phone under "my images". From here you can assign it to wallpaper, caller ID, or anything else the phone will allow.
A rather odd problem propped up the other day after I updated to V40 on my 5800 XM. The ringtone I've been using for a while suddenly changed itself...
If someone were to call, the ringtone SHOULD be the my personal ringtone, instead it is the Nokia Tune tone. But the issue is that it changes constantly, so this person could call the first time, the ringtone would be the Nokia Tune. The next time they call, say, perhaps 5 minutes later, it'd be my personal ringtone.I've already checked and the ringtone (a music file) is definitely still there and I can play it through the music player.
The 'General' profile is where this particular ringtone is set and it's still set there too. I've tried changing it to another music file, then changing it back to the original file but still the problem persists.I've even gone as far as removing the entire music library from the phone (all music files are located on the Memory Card) and re-transferring it over to the phone from my PC.
It's not particular to any contact and sometimes, it'll play my personal ringtone for a call and the next call it'd be the Nokia Tune. It's only ever the Nokia Tune that it changes to by itself.
I just recieved the data cable and a mega cd with wallpapers and ringtones.I am trying to get the ringtones on to my phone but i have not been able to do so.I downloaded the VCAST music manager, and BitPim...neither will work. Will someone please steer me in the right direction.
