I've tried the custom SMS tones on contacts and they don't work. I've tried doin' the add new profile but every time I go to try and add an exception, I can never find where it says "add exception" on my phone. I only need it for my husbands text messages. He's in the army and hes gone right now and when we're not able to be with each other, I wanted to make sure I would know when it was him texting.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have set my S5 Mini with all the sounds I want, different sounds for different things.
However when it comes to the Clock > Alarm, something I use on a regular basis (old timers is setting in), even though in "Notifications" I have set it to the sound I want, the Clock > Alarm just refuses to play ball, it always defaults back to Samsung's sound.
It is such a quiet sound, I have on occasion missed an appointment, I normally remember to set the sound I want the phone to play, but on the odd occasion I have forgotten, hence the missed appointments.
I have searched the phone for these sounds, hooked the phone up to my PC, and done a search just on the phone for those pesky Samsung sounds. Both way's it cannot find the sound I so desperately want to be rid of.
All of my other Ringtones and Notifications work as I have set them, bar Clock > Alarm.
How I can find them, and delete them?
wants custom mp3 ringtones. Tried sites like ventones.com and SE developer package to drm the mp3. Still only get option to set them as alarm. Anyone been successful in getting an mp3 to work?

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got this phone (new) and have been fairly happy. HOWEVER, I have one grief that I have yet to get resolved. Except for one of my contacts, I can not seem to set either mp3's or aac's as a custom ringtone for a contact. Though I have gone through the process multiple times, only my custom default ringtone plays when I receive a call.
I would appreciate any and all help that will assist me in getting this resolved. To say I am slightly frustrated would be an understatement.
there is a plug-in for custom ringtones per contact! it is in the Extras repository open xterm apt-get install per-contact-ringtones you will notice that it is integrated with the contacts manager.after you open a contact, tap the menu and you will now have an option "custom ring tone"

Some email accounts I've got set up on my phone (3GS, 3.1.2) get emails that there is no real urgency about; I'll look at the when I have time. Others I'd like to look at as soon as they arrive. A different sound for each account would help with this.

One more thing, does one have to have a memory card in the phone to add custom ringtones?

I've been trying (unsuccessfully) for the past 5 hours to resolve a custom ringtone issue with my 9700 and it is driving me crazy!I have custom ringtones set for some of my contacts for calls and messages and they were all working perfectly. Then today, I received a text message from one of my contacts and noticed the tone was the from the default profile. I checked the contact setting and the custom ringtone was the same, but whenever messages from the contacts came in, it was using the default profile. Whenever I get calls from the contact, the custom ringtone works, but all of a sudden it just stopped working for messages. Then I realized this situation is the same for ALL contacts that I had a custom ringtone for. I am completely baffled. I've probably done about 100 battery pulls.

When I try to sync my phone it doesn't pick up the ringtones tho. I tried unchecking and syncing and then checking and syncing again but its not working.
I also can not choose to manually sync my phone. Whenever I click the button for it it disappears.

I got my first BlackBerry a couple of months ago, the Tour 9630 with Verizon, which I've loved to far, except. Last week I created a couple of ring tones from two mp3 files and downloaded them in my BlackBerry without setting up with any feature, but they set themselves up as regular ring tones and I cannot stop them from playing now!
Since the day after I downloaded them, every time I've received a new e-mail, I've gotten my regular ring tone (GungHo) and then custom ring tone #1 starts playing and is unstoppable unless I completely turn off the BlackBerry! So I deleted it from the My Ring Tones folder, but that hasn't changed a thing. I've tried to change my regular e-mail ring tone and the change got implemented, so I get the new ring tone I've just set, but I still get custom ring tone # 1 right after! And it is almost 1 minute long!
Other weird thing, custom ring tone # 2 has started playing every time I hang up my phone! Who needs that?! I haven't deleted that one yet from the My Ring Tones folder because I'm not sure if that'll help, but this is extremely frustrating.
I have recently bought a Samsung SGH F266 from Fido and I was extremely disappointed about the fact that I cannot set my own ringtones. I have been looking all over the internet of methods to bypass the stupid "DRM" protection they have set up. The thing is I have a funny Russian ringtone which is not available in the store which I want to hear when I get calls.

I just got the blackberry style, and before I realized that you could create a custom profile setting for the ringtones, I messed with the NORMAL setting and changed it all around. Is there a way to change it back to default or can someone tell me what its supposed to be at so I can change it back to where its supposed be and then I'll create my own custom setting?
