I had a blackberry app world update earlier on. So I updated it. But now... it's just completely vanished from my home screen. And I can't find it anywhere. How do I get it back?!
View 1 RepliesWeird one this but I've just noticed my Blackberry app world icon has vanished from my phone. It still appears as an installed application, but there's no way to find it and run it. I know this was an issue last year with another phone, I am surprised if its still a bug? I know there has been a recent upgrade to app world and I've backed up my phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedChecking for system update on the phone showed an update build no. 23.1.A.0.690 which apparently is Android Lollipop was available via PC Companion only. So I connected via PC and followed the instructions. It took a while to download the Android L update and message prompted that the device will turn off. The device then turned off and the message on the PC Companion said that there was no updates available.
Now even my PC Companion says I'm running the latest version which is Kitkat. I tried checking for an update over phone. It says I've got the latest version...
I had a notification telling me there was a new version of Blackberry App World available. So as usual I updated it and then continued with the reboot that was needed after. I didn't look but later that day I wanted to download something and was shocked to find blackberry appeared was not there. It still shows as being downloaded on my phones management but it is not on the menu. I have deleted it and reinstalled it off the website but it still doesn't come back.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 8530 with OS5 and a couple hours ago I was prompted about the App World 3.1 update. I happily did the update but after the reboot I got this error:
"Uncaught exception: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError" And I get the same error every time I try to run App World. I have tried uninstalling App World and re-installing, Wipe the phone and install before restoring from my back up and I get the same error.So here I am now with an empty phone and no working App World to get my apps back.
For several weeks I'm trying to update my Identity at App. World. They keep on saying the following: BlackBerry Identity installation failed. Please try again later. (80003) I'm really had it with this.

Thankfully I was able to find most of the apps I downloaded in the download folder, but one of them reset and I don't have the activation code or the record that I bought that particular app since my world has no record of it.

Appworld worked fine when I had my old software.

But the update has not happened.I have connected my mobile to the desktop and Connection to smart phone is successful. It did show my PN on the Browser. View 3 Replies View RelatedThe option to "invite attendees" on the calendar has just vanished from my wife's Curve 9300!It worked perfectly a few days ago. So far I have completed the following procedures without any success:
1. done soft reset & hard resets: battery out & in whilst BB is on; alt/del buttons for soft reset.
2. done the hosting route table connection thing
3. checked default services and made sure the CICAL calendar is set to the correct email provider (gmail, in this case), no conflicting accounts appeared.
4. checked the phone has updated software: it has the newest service book.
5. Restored just the calendar from a previous backup using the BB desktop software.None of this has worked.Finally, I have downloaded the same up to date service book but have NOT reinstalled it because I do not know how. BTW: on resending service book I followed instructions and downloaded the exe. file onto the media card (it was too large for the phone memory) but have not accessed this or installed it yet or rebooted the phone.

Recently, I have been noticing my App World is freezing when I try to download or update my applications. See, I am trying to download Twitter to my phone, and every time I click "download" it says "please wait". It stays like this forever, and I can't press the back button or blackberry menu button. Occasionally, it tells me I need a Blackberry Identity update, which I can't seem to get access to either. After this happens, I can't do anything on the App store, yet I can still run the phone, its just the App store that is frozen. I restart my phone after this, and it resets everything, just to have it happen again. I know I have the Identity update, and all my software is up to date as well.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to v40, I've compared the new homescreen to the old homescreen and to the old homescreen with v21-31, these are my findings.
- The old homescreen on v40 does not have the email notification that Nokia introduced a short while ago and which was obviously VERY well recieved globally.
- The new homescreen on v40 has kinetic scrolling contacts which is, um, cute. It has the ability to control the music player (What I found to be very buggy, crashing it by simply pressing 'forward' when it's playing a folder with 1 song).
- The new homescreen on v40 does not have calendar and tasks, probably for the space the new music player-thing takes. This was my FAVORITE thing on the homescreen and I am sure I'm not alone.
I truly hope Nokia addresses these issues by either returning the email notifications to the old homescreen or somehow allowing to see the calendar and tasks on the new homescreen. Or both.
My message icon on the main screen "menu" vanished. I can no longer receive messages, and all the messages that I had stored vanished, since the message icon disappeared. I seem however, able to send messages by going to the email, but instead of composing email, i compose sms. However, I never get any replies. The message icon disappeared approximately two weeks ago. I went to the 02 store and the technical assistant took my phone for about 30 minutes, and then gave it back to me, saying he had no idea what had happened. He initially thought it had been "hiden" but it appears to be no where!

This started back when I upgraded BB AppworldPlease be aware,1.I have clicked the "Show all" button and it doesn't appear2. I have checked in all folders. 3. Multiple reinstalations, but no positive results 4. Several Device Reboots/Battery pulls/Factory Restarts were attempted, but no positive outcome 5. When I look under Application Management, Blackberry Appworld (3.1.4.25) IS InstalledIt seems that others are having this problem as well, but does anybody know how to fix this!

When changing the options on your home screen I know that you can move the icons with the Zen mode. When you put the Today mode on (which I really like) is there a way to change or re-arrange those? I have looked but can not find where in the phone. I am glad there is an edit button, I forgot to add that I am using a Blackberry 8530 Curve from U.S. Cellular.
