Nokia :: 5800 - Compared The New Homescreen To The Old Homescreen
Jan 15, 2010After upgrading to v40, I've compared the new homescreen to the old homescreen and to the old homescreen with v21-31, these are my findings.
- The old homescreen on v40 does not have the email notification that Nokia introduced a short while ago and which was obviously VERY well recieved globally.
- The new homescreen on v40 has kinetic scrolling contacts which is, um, cute. It has the ability to control the music player (What I found to be very buggy, crashing it by simply pressing 'forward' when it's playing a folder with 1 song).
- The new homescreen on v40 does not have calendar and tasks, probably for the space the new music player-thing takes. This was my FAVORITE thing on the homescreen and I am sure I'm not alone.
I truly hope Nokia addresses these issues by either returning the email notifications to the old homescreen or somehow allowing to see the calendar and tasks on the new homescreen. Or both.
BB Curve :: Appworld Not Appearing On Homescreen?
Aug 15, 2012I am currently using a Blackberry Curve 9300 3G running os 6 (6.0.0.448) and whenever I download Appworld, it does not appear on my homescreen. This started back when I upgraded BB AppworldPlease be aware,1.I have clicked the "Show all" button and it doesn't appear2. I have checked in all folders. 3. Multiple reinstalations, but no positive results 4. Several Device Reboots/Battery pulls/Factory Restarts were attempted, but no positive outcome 5. When I look under Application Management, Blackberry Appworld (3.1.4.25) IS InstalledIt seems that others are having this problem as well, but does anybody know how to fix this!

When you put the Today mode on (which I really like) is there a way to change or re-arrange those? I have looked but can not find where in the phone. Jan 14, 2010I had to transfer my info to a new phone, now none of the calendar entries are showing on the home screen. i've got 2 new calendars that i've never seen before, device default and unknown. those are in addition to my email calendar. Mar 7, 2010I'm a new and proud owner of a BlackBerry Curve 8900.I bought this used from a guy and I didn't realize this before til now. This phone is "permanently" password protected, meaning that I need to insert my password every single time I unlock my phone. I tried going to "Password" and disabling this option but there is a red lock beside the option and it won't let me choose Disable, only Enable. I went to TMobile and asked them but they said it's programed into the phone and told me to go back to the guy that sold me this.

Jul 13, 2012I am using a BB Curve 8520, black.I had initially set the alarm for all weekdays. But now I don't want the alarm anymore.The only option I have in this BB in the clock tab is Weekdays ON / OFF [blue in color in the centre of the clock].I do not have any third option of OFF, irrespective of weekdays/weekends.But it still rings sometimes though being OFF for the weekdays & the alarm time in red still shows & the tiny alarm/clock icon even shows on the desktop.
I've done options of keeping the alarm silent & all that. But it does vibrate sometimes. Sometimes the icon disappears & it comes back automatically.How do I DISABLE this alarm?? Just off it types, like we do in other phones!
