Is there any way to remove or disable the emoticons on the curve 9350? When I receive automated text messages after the subject and a colon, there are these goofy looking smiley faces that I would prefer not be there.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running v5.0.0.624. Is there a way to disable emoticons in SMS? For example, if I get an SMS with "Re: Powerpoint...", the ": P" gets turned into the "Tongue Out" emoticon.
Also, is SMS stripping out CR/LFs? I used to be able to receive messages formatted on several lines and this appears to be broken now.
Today I got an X10 (as a replacement phone for a series of faulty HTC Desires) and I'm just wondering if there is a way to disable the emoticons so that they don't show the little pictures, just the text? or change them to the little android ones shown on the Desire. Also, I'd like to change it from the moody dark blue theme to something a little bit less depressing!

I still want messages to be sent to me from apps I just don`t want the notification from the app, I`d like to open the app then see that I have a message, preferrably for whatsapp. It gets a bit annoyin gettin all the notifications. I have searched online but no luck, ehow and wiki say to highlight the icon of the app then open it and press menu and then click options but that does not work.

Today, I had a notification to upgrade App World, well the upgrade was successful, and I clicked yes to allow the device to restart as soon as the upgrade was finished. Now, whenever I try to download a new application, the phone seemingly downloads it but then the screen turns black when the download is finished and will reboot itself. The new apps aren't found on the device afterwards. What is happening, how can I download the apps I want?

Curve 9350 CDMA: I have activated my BBM and other services, and have got the confirmation for activation of services by my service provider- TATA INDICOM. Where on my device I am unable to start any of the services. When spoken to customercare- They said Device is not regiesterd with Blackberry team. When contacted to BlackBerry Team- they provided with an info that device is registerd that is why i m able to make calls and texts.how to get activation of BBM and other services I have activated services of postpaid plan. This is first time I upgraded to BlackBerry Services for CDMA.

I don't need to backup anything with Verizon or Motorola... I already do that with Google. How do I disable or remove this stuff so it's not constantly popping up or running in the background or starting up and taking up memory?
