Apr 18, 2010I've always wondered why the texting on samsung saga doesn't allow emoticons. Has anyone found an app that works on the saga so you can use emoticons in your text messages?.

BB Bold 9650 :: Jumbled Text Characters - No Emoticons During Texting
Jul 27, 2010Ok complete BB Newb here so please bear with me. I have a new 9650, my gf has a new Incredible (both Verizon). When we're SMSing and I use the emoticons , they don't show up like they're supposed to on her Incredible - she just gets the jumbled text characters, no emoticons . Is this a setting on her end? We've tried everything. If she uses the Incredible's smiley's in tm's to me, they show up fine on the BB Bold . . .

Mar 1, 2010I'm trying to send a video. I noticed in the settings that the max size for a video is only 495K. Is there a way around this? Or is the phone only capable of the small size? It should be able to send about a 30 second video, but mine is 16 seconds and still too large.

Jun 27, 2010I have a Samsung Saga i770 that I was getting ready to eBay and decided to put the latest ROM on it before I sold it. I flashed it from my Windows 7 machine and everything said it went fine and the flash was successful, but after it rebooted, it just sits at the Samsung logo and never goes any further. I've tried it with and without the USB connection and also on the AC adapter, but nothing. It doesn't appear to be charging at this stage either. I'm guessing that the flash was bad. I have an XP computer that I could flash from and would like to try again, but it isn't being recognized by the computer at this stage. Is there a way to get this into a bootloader mode so the flash can be completed again?I may end up selling it as a non-functioning unit now.

Jul 30, 2010I have a Samsung saga i770. I bricked the phone. Sent it to samsung, they reflashed it to the new rom. (long story) Get the phone back , marked as unable to be repaired. Turned phone on and it started up. All looked normal but the phone will not produce an audible ring. It will vibrate when called but not ring. I check the obvious settings. If I use a wired head set I can hear the phone ring.

Apr 1, 2010Is anyone else having this issue? I just got a Samsung Saga. Yesterday I set up my AOL and Gmail accts on it. Everything was fine. Today only my Gmail works. Whenever I try to access my AOL email I get this error message- "Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and that your email account settings are correct. Then, try to download messages again."I have not changed anything and the phone is connected to my home wireless network. I tried deleting the account and reinstalling but I still get that error.I don't understand why it was working and just stopped. It is especially confusing because of the gmail account working.

Apr 10, 2010My saga had low battery last night and died now I have charged it but It cycles on & off alone. If it's on long enough to try to make a call, It will shut down when I try to place a call. I have tried a soft reset but just added a bunch of contacts and trying to avoid a hard reset. I had a different Saga and the same thing happened once but I think the soft reset helped?

Mar 9, 2012I just bought a Samsung galaxy s2 and I am trying to figure out how to get emoticons on the keyboard. Before this phone I had an iphone 4 and I assumed that the galaxy worked in the same way as you just download an emoticon app from the app market and then they were on your keyboard. Tried that a few times in the Market but it didnt put the emoticons in the keyboard. Instead it was a completely different text messaging app all together. Would be nice if i could get them on the keyboard that comes with the galaxy instead of a completely different text messaging app. I saw the if you hold down the period button you get a few smilies but they are just the ones like this for example =) =P.

Jan 29, 2012when I�m texting an sms and I�m suppose to look up my contact, the Galaxy shows fex 3 options for the very same name (before I even choose one of them), where 2 of these are email addresses and not a phone number. The 3rd option gives me the alternative to choose either the mobile number (which is the option I want..) or again the two email addresses, which is ok. So, the first 2 options coming up here are confusing, and more than once I�ve sent text messages that never reached the person�s text inbox.. How can I fix this, and clear up my "text contact list" ? (in my Contacts app there is only one contact for this person)

Jan 12, 2012Not had my SII long but i'm impressed so far with my first smartphone. Still find somethings abit complex compared to my old nokias but hope to get my head round it eventually.Now and then I need to send the same tx message to about 50 of my contacts.I've created a group for these 50 contacts called " workmates"I want to send the same tx message to all 50 in one go but I get stopped when I reach 10 and the phone tells me i can't send to more than 10 in one go. So I end up rewriting the tx message 5 more times and have to send it in groups of 10 recipients in my "workmates" group.Is there a way of sending it to all 50 in one go and save the tediousness of rewriting the tx message. I can't even work out a way of "copying and pasting" the original tx message to save time that way.

Samsung Galaxy S II :: Gmail Contacts Vs. Phone Contacts List When Texting?
Nov 24, 2011Love the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!
Xseries :: Disabling Emoticons In X7?
Sep 26, 2011Is there any way to disable these highly annoying emoticons in text messages etc.? My phone always freezes for 5-10 seconds when the smiley "loads" after I've typed, for example, "" and this problem is making messaging rather difficult. I've updated the phone couple of times in the past month so that's not a working solution.

Jul 7, 2010I'm running v5.0.0.624. Is there a way to disable emoticons in SMS? For example, if I get an SMS with "Re: Powerpoint...", the ": P" gets turned into the "Tongue Out" emoticon.
Also, is SMS stripping out CR/LFs? I used to be able to receive messages formatted on several lines and this appears to be broken now.
HTC One M7 :: Emoticons Keyboard Rooted
Feb 8, 2014My husband's HTC one just got the latest update and he now has different "smiley" emoticons in his keyboard. His keyboard is stock and he's not rooted. The problem is no one can "see" the smiley he sends. On his end (in text message, again stock) they show up as "generic" once sent, on my end (galaxy s3, not updated past 4.1.2 yet) it's blank.
