Samsung Galaxy S II :: How To Get Emoticons On Keyboard
Mar 9, 2012
I just bought a Samsung galaxy s2 and I am trying to figure out how to get emoticons on the keyboard. Before this phone I had an iphone 4 and I assumed that the galaxy worked in the same way as you just download an emoticon app from the app market and then they were on your keyboard. Tried that a few times in the Market but it didnt put the emoticons in the keyboard. Instead it was a completely different text messaging app all together. Would be nice if i could get them on the keyboard that comes with the galaxy instead of a completely different text messaging app. I saw the if you hold down the period button you get a few smilies but they are just the ones like this for example =) =P.
My husband's HTC one just got the latest update and he now has different "smiley" emoticons in his keyboard. His keyboard is stock and he's not rooted. The problem is no one can "see" the smiley he sends. On his end (in text message, again stock) they show up as "generic" once sent, on my end (galaxy s3, not updated past 4.1.2 yet) it's blank.
Among the slight annoyances I have with touchwiz, I really don't like Samsung's keyboard. If I disable it in input methods, it only stays disabled until I actually use the other keyboard/input method I have selected.
It turns itself back on and gives me a notification to select input method. As it's a samsung app, it can't be disabled in app settings. Would it be safe to just delete it completely? I don't think there's an option to disable the notification popup when you have multiple input methods turned on. extreme phone ocd
edit: nvm I guess, yolo deleted it, now to get rid of sfinder and QC in notification menu
When I'm typing with the stock Samsung Keyboard occasionally it deletes the first letter of the word I'm typing automatically. This is really annoying because then it predicts a completely different word to the one I initially meant to type. Also, the issue is only with Samsung Keyboard, swiftkey works fine.
I am having a serious problem with my Galaxy S6. The keyboard and any pop up menu for selection are not visible. I can see the keyboard and any selection menu when I rotate the screen then it vanishes very quickly.
I have disabled keyboard, cleared data and cache then restarted but it doesn't seem to work.
I have wiped all the cache partition, done a factory reset, flashed a stock 5.1.1 but the problem still exists.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. Recently the keyboard keeps defaulting back to the Samsung keyboard, rather than the Google keyboard which is my preferred option. I've reset the default in Settings repeatedly.
Just got a Samsung solstice. Had a quick question about it. Any time that I need to type something, I turn the phone on it's side to get to the qwerty keyboard. However, When I'm going through my contacts and I need to type in the search field, I turn the phone on it's side but it does not give me the qwerty keyboard. Can anyone confirm this? Just trying to make sure AT&T didn't give me a bad phone or something.
Is there any way to disable these highly annoying emoticons in text messages etc.? My phone always freezes for 5-10 seconds when the smiley "loads" after I've typed, for example, "" and this problem is making messaging rather difficult. I've updated the phone couple of times in the past month so that's not a working solution.
I realize that by holding a key you get a set of special characters, but some are still missing, for example the apple logo and other weird ones i've seen on screenshots in the wallpaper thread. where do you view these and use them?secondly, emoticons - where do you gets these, how do you use them? is this something you select on Settings?
i own a nokia x6 and my lock button for nokia x6 has been broken and i have seen in my friends mobile (nokia 5233) he got a new software update 50.x.00x which resolves the lock issues and enables "emoticons".why is this software update not available on nokia x6?
Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.
I just updated my Nokia N97 mini and the new software update brought emoticons to my text messages. I don't want to use them and I can't stand them but I can't find any setting to turn them off. My Symbian version is 30.0.004(.C01.01)
For some reason I am missing emoticons in my SMS texting. If I am writing an SMS and click "add smiley" not all of them show up, but they do show up in blackberry messanger. For example if I wanted to click on the "yawning" emoticon or the "can't watch" emoticon to use in an SMS i can't because it doesn't appear as an option, but it will appear in a blackberry messenger message. In blackberry messenger, it shows I have 45 different emoticons I can use, but in an SMS text, it only shows I have 30 emoticons. How do I make them all appear?I am using a blackberry 9700
