Jun 16, 2015the stock Samsung keyboard will randomly capitalize words which aren't capitalized while typing. It happens to random words in the middle of the sentence.

Oct 7, 2012The entire time I've owned my S2 it has had a strange problem of not adding an apostrophe to any words, such as "don't" or "wouldn't". The only other galaxy I can check the message settings against is an S3 but everything is set up the same so is this just an S2 issue or am I missing something? It is highly annoying and even saving the correct words into the dictionary doesn't work.

Dec 23, 2015Both on my s6 and my dad's s6 our keyboards are freezing randomly. It will not type and will stay on the screen (even on home screen etc) until the device is locked and unlocked and sometimes it has to be restarted. I am using Google keyboard and dad is Swiftkey so its unlikely to be the actual keyboard app.

I was using "Swype" and thought it was a problem with that, but after switching keyboards and re-installing them, I realized it's a universal issue. This especially happens in Whatsapp, but I spend 95% of typing time there, so I can't say fairly.

Jun 2, 2015My default keyboard keeps closing in the middle of me typing something.I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S5, Lollipop, using the default keyboard app, like I said. It only really happens in the Chrome browser; I can type just fine in other apps (I had to type this in Memos then copy/paste into Chrome). I've cleared the data & cache multiple times, to no avail.

About 6 weeks ago, I started to see missing words/phrases in my browser at many different websites and at various times. Some pages are missing over 50% of the links and/or text. I tried a battery pull, nothing. I tried clearing history/cache, etc, nothing. I unchecked Auto-Detect Text Encoding, nothing. Tried to various Defalt Text Encoding options, no change.

Aug 27, 2014When I used swipe with my s4, backspace would delete the full word after a swipe.. can I make my lg do this? It sucks having to backspace 5x to delete a mis-swyped word.
I'm mute & 1 handed, so i talk with my phone.. It isn't fun having to sit there pressing backspace 9x instead of 1x then just reswyping. I like the in-house keyboard because of the 1 handed option- it is very nice.. but, if this can't be done with the stock keyboard, I guess I'll have to use the full size google kb...

Its turning off and on randomly, the screen colour gets messed up at random times, like completely messed up, the wifi is a little messed up and it seems to be pretty slow So i was just wondering whats the best way for me to do a complete reset? Jul 10, 2012Having a bit of a problem with my phone, it just keeps shutting off randomly. I just came back from holiday and noticed it recently. It shuts off in random intervals, sometimes a couple of hours and sometimes 30 minutes or less. I doubt it has anything to do with the software as it was fine before i went on holiday, and now it keeps acting up.

Dec 3, 2011This may be a coincidence but ever since I updated to Android 2.3.5 my phone will randomly re-start itself. It definitely didn't happen before. So for example the screen will be locked, nothing happening with the phone, good battery life, (e.g. overnight) and it will suddenly re-boot. It's doubly annoying because I have a PIN SIM so it's stuck at the PIN screen, without network coverage, until I discover it and log back in. My carrier is O2 (UK) but I don't think they're at fault, it's a 2 year old SIM without any previous problems.

Dec 14, 2014I've found problem with xperia keyboard. While switching among words keyboard use to hide and show in a fraction of second despite of I still write text in the same text-box. It used to stay shown while I'm in the samw text-box. Also noticed it happens only I set cursor at the beginning or end of word. If cursor is set into word keyboard is still shown.

Before this phone I had an iphone 4 and I assumed that the galaxy worked in the same way as you just download an emoticon app from the app market and then they were on your keyboard. Tried that a few times in the Market but it didnt put the emoticons in the keyboard. Instead it was a completely different text messaging app all together. Would be nice if i could get them on the keyboard that comes with the galaxy instead of a completely different text messaging app. I saw the if you hold down the period button you get a few smilies but they are just the ones like this for example =) =P.

Aug 9, 2012my samsung galaxy s2 is acting very weird lately.
here are the symptoms i encounter:
1. video randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, the back light turns off and immediately goes back on and resumes playback. this is regardless where the video is stored.
2. online videos (e.g. from Internet) randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, video is paused and streaming is also restarted.
3. camera momentarily freezes - video display turns off and immediately goes back on as if it has recovered from an error. same is encountered when using the front camera.
also, if you know the web browser 'dolphin', it has a feature of 'keep screen on' that will keep the back light on even if there is no activity on the phone. however, since my phone is acting weird lately, the backlight of my phone turns off after some time even if the 'keep screen on' feature is enabled.
this gave me an impression that the problem must be somewhat related to the backlight or memory. but i am not really sure. i tried to power off the phone, removed the battery, removed the sim, removed the sd, but the problem still persists.
this is annoying as hell because i cannot watch videos smoothly anymore and my video calls randomly stops.
other details of my phone:
- not rooted
- android version 2.3.3
- system storage 894mb free out of 1.97gb
- usb storage 5.66gb/ 11.5gb
- sd card 192mb / 1.9 gb
- ram ~400-550mb / 837mb

Anyway, I used the Samsung stock keyboard and I'm pretty happy with it. However, I can't get past the fact that I cant long press a key to insert my shift-characters.
I've seen some people on youtube already have this on their keyboard. But mine doesnt? Does this have something to do with US-Keyboard vs International?
How do I activate the long-press characters?

Apr 21, 2015Among the slight annoyances I have with touchwiz, I really don't like Samsung's keyboard. If I disable it in input methods, it only stays disabled until I actually use the other keyboard/input method I have selected.
It turns itself back on and gives me a notification to select input method. As it's a samsung app, it can't be disabled in app settings. Would it be safe to just delete it completely? I don't think there's an option to disable the notification popup when you have multiple input methods turned on. extreme phone ocd
edit: nvm I guess, yolo deleted it, now to get rid of sfinder and QC in notification menu

This is really annoying because then it predicts a completely different word to the one I initially meant to type. Also, the issue is only with Samsung Keyboard, swiftkey works fine.

I have disabled keyboard, cleared data and cache then restarted but it doesn't seem to work.

Galaxy S5 :: Bad Autocorrect For Words With Apostrophes

Whenever I type a word with an apostrophe (I'll, we'll, Don't etc) the regular on board keyboard corrects it to something like I'I'll we'we'll and don'don't every time. I have, when I've noticed the suggestion appear, attempted to delete these words from the user dictionary but they keep coming back. I can't even find access to the entire user dictionary to delete there, just the suggestion bar.
It's very annoying as I keep getting doubled words when typing fast. It's only happening on apostrophe words and I never "taught" those words to my phone.
It's like it is trying to correct by replacing the correct word's last letter with the entire word.
