Yesterday for no reason my phone started activating a "Car Mode" feature draining the battery into nothing even after its fully charged. the screen is also rotating even when i have auto rotate off and is also starting freeze. it keeps connecting and disconnecting into Kies via USB despite the USB not even being plugged in.

Any idea why this is happening? Restarting the phone didnt change anything.At first I thought it might be from some app, so I uninstalled the last 5 apps I downloaded, but nothing changed I'm positive that it was working fine before. It just happened all of a sudden.I have attached screen-shots of my phone info along with what my gallery looks like when it's not working.

Looked in the battery monitor, and it showed that the "Wi-fi sharing" process was using more power than the screen (which is unusual) - it used about 10% in half an hour. I also noticed my phone had clocked up to 1.2ghz and was getting pretty hot. I force stopped the process, and the CPU clocked back down to 200mhz.
Reproducing the problem: It appears to happen if you've enabled or configured tethering once. When it happens to me, it happens if I disable then enable wifi. It may or may not be specific to the type of wifi network you connect to.Root your phone and freeze "Wi-Fi sharing" in Titanium Backup. This will not effect Kies air or anything, though could effect tethering. If your tethering no longer works after freezing this application, defrost it to restore tethering functionality.Most people are saying this, and another wifi drain issue, have been fixed in the latest firmware(s).Potential issues when restoring settings from a rooted phone to a non rooted SGS II via Google.I did have a little problem here and there when I first got my SGSII. When I setup the google account, I chose to allow google to restore my settings. It is pretty cool as it restored all the apps I had with my old SGS but I suspect some of the apps I had is for the custom rom only hence I had problem everywhere with the new SGSII. I then did a factory reset and setup without the restore bit and since then I havn't had a single problem yet.My phone came with XWKDD and I heard something about this firmware has fixes to the previous ones, so it might worth upgrade your firmware if you are ok with Odin So my suggestions to you is, do a factory reset and rebuild your phone from scratch without restoring, if problem still exists, consider a firmware update.
Yesterday I have added my Facebook and Linked in accounts in Social Hub. I thought it was like an app or somekind. All I saw was updates from my FB home page. I cant do anything else other than seeing all those updates. I mean I can upload any photos or videos, I understood that its not an app kind but something else. Now, how do I remove/delete those two accounts from that social hub. Couldn't see any options available? Also noticed in other forums that once if we delete that account it cannot be added again coz of SNS feed issues?

It shuts off in random intervals, sometimes a couple of hours and sometimes 30 minutes or less. I doubt it has anything to do with the software as it was fine before i went on holiday, and now it keeps acting up.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis may be a coincidence but ever since I updated to Android 2.3.5 my phone will randomly re-start itself. It definitely didn't happen before. So for example the screen will be locked, nothing happening with the phone, good battery life, (e.g. overnight) and it will suddenly re-boot. It's doubly annoying because I have a PIN SIM so it's stuck at the PIN screen, without network coverage, until I discover it and log back in. My carrier is O2 (UK) but I don't think they're at fault, it's a 2 year old SIM without any previous problems.

It has consistently been from what seems to be a video where the person is showing a DIY for auto repair. When I unlock it i do not find any video apps open. here are the symptoms i encounter:
1. video randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, the back light turns off and immediately goes back on and resumes playback. this is regardless where the video is stored.
2. online videos (e.g. from Internet) randomly pauses - after ~20 to 30 seconds of playback, video is paused and streaming is also restarted.
3. camera momentarily freezes - video display turns off and immediately goes back on as if it has recovered from an error. same is encountered when using the front camera.
also, if you know the web browser 'dolphin', it has a feature of 'keep screen on' that will keep the back light on even if there is no activity on the phone. however, since my phone is acting weird lately, the backlight of my phone turns off after some time even if the 'keep screen on' feature is enabled.
this gave me an impression that the problem must be somewhat related to the backlight or memory. but i am not really sure. i tried to power off the phone, removed the battery, removed the sim, removed the sd, but the problem still persists.
this is annoying as hell because i cannot watch videos smoothly anymore and my video calls randomly stops.

- usb storage 5.66gb/ 11.5gb
- sd card 192mb / 1.9 gb
- ram ~400-550mb / 837mb
I have had 2 problems with this phone since I've had it. One was the fact I couldn't play Facebook videos over 3G or 4G without getting the unknown error message which I've finally solved by downloading and enabling psiphon VPN connection mode! The other is when I enable 4G I can have it on for like 30 minutes after that my phone tends to lose all signal; meaning no texts or calls and no Internet based activity (unless on WiFi) until a restart of the phone which tends to solve the problem.

Well so I downloaded iOS 6 (Free), Stupid idea from the start. Got it on my iPhone 4s which I just got on June 8th by the way. Everything went well after a couple errors. Then it couldnt activate because I don't have a developer account, Oh well I thought, Just restore it. iTunes said **** that, and I have been stuck in recovery mode with error 1601 for about 4 hours. For the record once this is fixed, I am trading this in for a Droid Razr. I can't deal with Apple ever again.

I just tried it out inside so it wasn't automatically hooking up to a cars bluetooth or anything. I believe I was supposed to pull down on the top menu thing to turn it off but I couldn't pull it down while in car mode. I ended up having to reboot my phone to get out of car mode.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe network mode on my Samsung galaxy S5 device is always set at GSM only. When I try to change it to WCDMA only or GSM/WCDMA (auto mode) it changes back to GSM only. The area I am has 3G network and most devices I see have H but mine always shows as E no matter what I do. When browsing it takes a long time for pages to open because its always at E.
I have factory reset the device but still facing the same problem.
I just got my SGSII today and so far I'm impressed at how much power it's got compared to my original SGS. So far the only disappointment for me is that samsung didn't include the "Add Me" effect in Scene Mode. I've had so much fun with this effect and I actually use it more compared to any other scene mode. I would like to ask if there's an app that can do the same thing? I tried using panorama to create a "twin" but it simply doesn't work.

Not rooted start showing constantly an icon of a plain as it was in flight mode and if you go to settings it shows that the flight mode is off. Also it is not recognising any SIM. Currently I am in UK.
