Aug 1, 2010I realize that by holding a key you get a set of special characters, but some are still missing, for example the apple logo and other weird ones i've seen on screenshots in the wallpaper thread. where do you view these and use them?secondly, emoticons - where do you gets these, how do you use them? is this something you select on Settings?

Mar 24, 2012My wife and I both have an iphone 4s, both connected to the same icloud for synchronisation of our calendars.I have an annoying bug that is messing with my emoticons that are in my calendar (week calendar and iphone calendar) since updating to the latest IOS. I have a number of recurring events that have one or more icons(emoticons) in them for easier recognition. Almost all of these events show ?? where an emoticon used to be. The same happens on my ipod. On my wife's iphone all is ok, except if I change an emoticon on my phone, then she gets the ?? too.
It all worked perfectly fine until the latest IOS update.

Sep 26, 2011Is there any way to disable these highly annoying emoticons in text messages etc.? My phone always freezes for 5-10 seconds when the smiley "loads" after I've typed, for example, "" and this problem is making messaging rather difficult. I've updated the phone couple of times in the past month so that's not a working solution.

Jul 7, 2010I'm running v5.0.0.624. Is there a way to disable emoticons in SMS? For example, if I get an SMS with "Re: Powerpoint...", the ": P" gets turned into the "Tongue Out" emoticon.
Also, is SMS stripping out CR/LFs? I used to be able to receive messages formatted on several lines and this appears to be broken now.
HTC One M7 :: Emoticons Keyboard Rooted
Feb 8, 2014My husband's HTC one just got the latest update and he now has different "smiley" emoticons in his keyboard. His keyboard is stock and he's not rooted. The problem is no one can "see" the smiley he sends. On his end (in text message, again stock) they show up as "generic" once sent, on my end (galaxy s3, not updated past 4.1.2 yet) it's blank.

Mar 9, 2012I just bought a Samsung galaxy s2 and I am trying to figure out how to get emoticons on the keyboard. Before this phone I had an iphone 4 and I assumed that the galaxy worked in the same way as you just download an emoticon app from the app market and then they were on your keyboard. Tried that a few times in the Market but it didnt put the emoticons in the keyboard. Instead it was a completely different text messaging app all together. Would be nice if i could get them on the keyboard that comes with the galaxy instead of a completely different text messaging app. I saw the if you hold down the period button you get a few smilies but they are just the ones like this for example =) =P.

For example if I wanted to click on the "yawning" emoticon or the "can't watch" emoticon to use in an SMS i can't because it doesn't appear as an option, but it will appear in a blackberry messenger message.In blackberry messenger, it shows I have 45 different emoticons I can use, but in an SMS text, it only shows I have 30 emoticons. We've tried everything. If she uses the Incredible's smiley's in tm's to me, they show up fine on the BB Bold . . .
