Feb 27, 2011I have a BB Curve 8520. In the BBM settings I have 4 pages of symbols, which include smileys, but in the text message menu I only have 2 pages of symbols, which do NOT include the smiley faces. When I receive a text from people who add smileys, all I get is the symbols such as it works fine in the BBM service, both sending and receiving, but not in text.do I need to download an app or something. Im a bit new with using a BB so any help in plain english would be good! and also while im on it, the places app on facebook does not seem to work for me, the GPS, ect is all switched on!

But if I use : and ) together in a text message on my new Galaxy S5 and send it, I get something stupid like , a yellow or green face. I want to disable the function that auto turns the : and ) into the picture so that I have just the colon and parentheses. Is there a way to do that?

Feb 9, 2010Hi! I have a friend who just LOVES to use smileys, graphics, icons and emoticons in her text messages, and she has an LG enV3. I was wondering for any of you cell phone gurus out there, is there a way to get new graphics for this phone so that they can be used in a regular text message?
I know how to save them as pictures and send a pic/video message, but I was wondering if there was a way to send them in a normal text message, or even add them to the "add" list itself. Perhaps a way to hack the phone? I'm surprised searching Google didn't render any results, that usually works, but if any of you guys can help out on this I'd be forever grateful!

When we're SMSing and I use the emoticons , they don't show up like they're supposed to on her Incredible - she just gets the jumbled text characters, no emoticons . Is this a setting on her end? We've tried everything. If she uses the Incredible's smiley's in tm's to me, they show up fine on the BB Bold . . .

Mar 25, 2010Have just purchased a Nokia 2730 Classic, and using my T-Mobile contract sim in it.When sending texts I can not find how to access the smileys? Graphical Smileys are on cos it says Yes in, Messaging, Message Settings, General Settings, Graphical Smileys.I thought you just had to go to the *+ key and hold that down to get to the punctuations, and then press it again to get to the smileys, like on other nokias, but they are not there? Do I need to press something else, or switch something else on somewhere on the phone?
The smileys worked with this sim until this morning in my old phone, so it cant be a network or sim problem.
I have read through the user manual but it didnt solve this.

Jan 24, 2012So my N79 is refusing to let me send text messages on the grounds that "Text Message: Not enough memory to perform operation. Please delete some data first". So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory.Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..

May 19, 2010My 4 day old N97 Mini stopped displaying new text message notifications on the screen and alerting me via a tone or vibration. Before posting I read this forum and other independent forums and did the following:
Checked firmware for phone - was up to date
Checked message tone was active in profiles - was active
Deleted all messages in inbox/drafts/sent - fixed issue had 41 messages total in these 3 folders.
I can't understand this error, I had an iPhone 3G before coming back to Nokia (N97 mini OS served a better purpose) I could store literally 100's of texts and never had a problem, If I can't have more than 40 texts in my folders without the alert turning itself off..Then the phone is useless.

Oct 22, 2010I have about 5500 messages on my N97 and want to transfer them to N8 but when it try the phone switch and transfer them with Bluetooth it literally takes for ever, last time I tried it transferred like 30 in 5 minutes, is there anyway I can make it go faster? Also tried to backup my messages on Ovi suit and PC suite, well on PC suit it gives me an error saying there is not enough memory(On the PC suite application on my computer) and it backs it up short, only 1000 I think and in OVI suit, I backed it up fine but when tried to restore, it did it and took some time but nothing happened, number of txt messages didn't change.

Jul 3, 2011I recently developed a problem with my 5800. I can't read new texts. I can see them in the preview, but when I click on them to open the full text message, nothing happens. My text messages are set up to be saved to my sd card. In addition to this problem, I can't read my emails either, only the preview. I have done a hard reset, and the problem is still present.

May 1, 2012I have always used predictive text.Using the Anna software if I wrote a word and it was wrong I could return and re-select the word. Then cycle the words using the *.Now using the Belle software, I cannot return to the word. The cursor just marches through the word letter by letter not selecting it.
