Samsung :: Saga I770 / Bad ROM Flash
Jun 27, 2010I have a Samsung Saga i770 that I was getting ready to eBay and decided to put the latest ROM on it before I sold it. I flashed it from my Windows 7 machine and everything said it went fine and the flash was successful, but after it rebooted, it just sits at the Samsung logo and never goes any further. I've tried it with and without the USB connection and also on the AC adapter, but nothing. It doesn't appear to be charging at this stage either. I'm guessing that the flash was bad. I have an XP computer that I could flash from and would like to try again, but it isn't being recognized by the computer at this stage. Is there a way to get this into a bootloader mode so the flash can be completed again?I may end up selling it as a non-functioning unit now.

Jul 30, 2010I have a Samsung saga i770. I bricked the phone. Sent it to samsung, they reflashed it to the new rom. (long story) Get the phone back , marked as unable to be repaired. Turned phone on and it started up. All looked normal but the phone will not produce an audible ring. It will vibrate when called but not ring. I check the obvious settings. If I use a wired head set I can hear the phone ring.

Mar 1, 2010I'm trying to send a video. I noticed in the settings that the max size for a video is only 495K. Is there a way around this? Or is the phone only capable of the small size? It should be able to send about a 30 second video, but mine is 16 seconds and still too large.

Apr 1, 2010Is anyone else having this issue? I just got a Samsung Saga. Yesterday I set up my AOL and Gmail accts on it. Everything was fine. Today only my Gmail works. Whenever I try to access my AOL email I get this error message- "Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and that your email account settings are correct. Then, try to download messages again."I have not changed anything and the phone is connected to my home wireless network. I tried deleting the account and reinstalling but I still get that error.I don't understand why it was working and just stopped. It is especially confusing because of the gmail account working.

Apr 10, 2010My saga had low battery last night and died now I have charged it but It cycles on & off alone. If it's on long enough to try to make a call, It will shut down when I try to place a call. I have tried a soft reset but just added a bunch of contacts and trying to avoid a hard reset. I had a different Saga and the same thing happened once but I think the soft reset helped?

May 10, 2010Where can I find these drivers? I'd like to be able to transfer files between the phone and computer and also I'd like to tether my laptop. When I plug in the phone I get SAMSUNG_android in my device manager as an unknown device and Windows can't find drivers for it. On Samsung Canada's website I can't find the drivers anywhere or even a link to PC Studio. No luck on the US site either since apparently this phone isn't even offered there yet.

Dec 1, 2011I am running windows 7 starter. I update my device so installed kies and update, got interrupted somehow and soft bricked. Sent it off to samsung who told me to just be careful when using kies. Tried then to install software using odin and it is bricked again!rom numerous conversations with a fellow giffgaffer have determined that it is a driver problem. Apparently I should have 'samsung composite device (abd) listed and I don't. I plug it in my netbook and some times I get 'samsung composite device' (no abd) and when I go into device manager it always has a yellow triangle next to it.
Most of the time I get 'unknown device' or 'gadget serial' in manager and when I try and update drivers it says they are up to date, manually I can find samsung composite usb driver and then I get one of two things 'software found but could not install' (error 10) or 'windows stopped the device working' (error 43.) have tried installing kies, uninstalling kies, installing samsung device driver for mobile phones. Nothing has worked. I have exactly the same results on my desktop pc, running 7 home premium so I don't think it is a usb port problem.
