I just upgraded to 8.1.2 on my iPhone 4S and now all my text messages have vanished, I can't send or receive text messages, and I can't make phone calls. When I punch in a phone number or tap a contact in my favourites - nothing happens. I have switched it off and rebooted twice - still nothing.

My phone will no longer make or receive calls and I can't text after upgrading to iOS 8.1.1. I've tried everything except chucking the phone out the window. I have reset it multiple times, turned it off and back on, reset the network settings, reset all settings, toggled the airplane mode switch, and done a complete factory restoration. What else is there to do? I can't get a new phone for another year.

I upgraded my iphone 4 from AT&T about 3 weeks ago to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1, I think. It could have been 5.1. I still get texts, everything works perfectly except my phone application!It hardly ever makes phones calls, it dials and connects to the other end both recieving and outgoing, but there is no sound and the speaker phone button is highlighted. The person on the other end has no audio either. It does this for 95% of phone calls, but even the bug is incosistent; every once in a while I can make or recieve a call without a problem. I restored my phone without installing the saved backup several times, problem continues. I'm convinced it's the software upgrade.

I have an iPhone 4 with Verizon. I have the message plan unlimited. Recently after installing the update sometimes I can't text people. I can iMessage, and receive regular messages also. When this happens I can't make phone calls either. Full bars and 3G is fine. Everything works fine besides sending text and making phone calls. I have talked with Verizon. Go to apple and the give me a new phone because it's a software problem on my phone. Now with the new phone same problems. I have reset the network. I have turn off iMessage. Also tried reboot, and restore.

I have a problem with an iPhone 4 GSM with iOS 5.1: until last week it perfectly worked and then it started to not have any signal bars and therefore I can't receive and send either calls or texts. View 4 Replies View RelatedI was texting today and my messages app froze. When I tried to open it again, the app stalled at a white screen and froze. When I closed it and reopened it, all of my texts were gone. The app loads but there's just no texts. I can send and receive texts fine, and sending a text doesn't load the previous lost messages just the new ones. I tried restarting my phone 3-4 times and hard resetting it with the power and home buttons. I hard closed the messages app by holding the home button and clicking X. Nothing Loads the texts. If I type anything in spotlight, all the texts come up, but clicking on it takes me to the empty messages app. I need my texts back. I have hundreds of photos, contacts, and important work data in those texts.
restoring my phone from a back up or resetting all data is not an option. My laptop was water damaged in a flood along with any backups. I have thousands of photos on my phone so I will not restore to factory settings. I know the texts are still there because I had well over a GB of texts and since they vanished, no space has been freed up.
It seems that after the last iOS update (5.1) I now have to type in my passcode and unlock my phone before I can use Siri to make a call or text. WTH? That completely defeats the purpose of using Siri at all for those tasks! Please tell me why this wasn't introduced as an option rather than FORCED on me. Or explain how I can get Siri back to how she was before, so I can make calls while driving. It is EXTREMELY unsafe to take your eyes off the road and stare at your phone while you type in the passcode so you can make a call. Siri was perfect before.

Will let me then do about 2 texts, then it goes back to sending error. Every time I try to make a call it doesn't even ring, just goes to call fail.

My BB torch was working just fine earlier but about an hour ago it just stopped. It has connections and bars, up in the little connections window. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Blackberry Bold on the Vodafone UK network.Last week once it became available , I updated to the new 5.0.0.411 S/ware.On the whole I have had no problems , however I have noticed that my battery life is most definitely not as good as before the update.The one thing I have noticed is that my Missed Calls Log has vanished , & I just can't seem to get it back.
On the old s/ware , if I couldn't take a call I just had to then press the green button & there would automatically be a list of that , & all other missed calls.
Now when someone calls & I choose not to take it , if I then press close , however then press the green key to see the log , the missed call log is not there. All that's displayed is the actual Call Log. I agree that the number that called me is there with the missed call symbol next to it , however this is in the complete call log.
How van I retrieve this Missed Call Log only? In my line of work , it is certainly possible that I will legitimately miss calls during the course of the day. It will become very annoying if I can now not view them at a glance.
My wife's E71x stopped receivng text messages, nor can she send them. And the phone will not make phone calls or recived them either. But she is able to surf the web and check hotmail. She has powered off her device and removed the battery but it still does not work.
