I am new to BB and have had the Torch for 2 weeks.Today, while on the phone, my call has been interrupted by an update.The call is dropped and the phone shuts off to complete an update.Is this normal? Do I need to change some of the options?
View 9 RepliesI am trying to transfer all of my contacts from from an older torch 9800 to a new torch 9800 but only a portion of the contacts are being copied. I have tried backup-restore via desktop software etc... but it's not copying the complete list. Tried to do it at AT&T store but that just duplicated the 425 contacts that I all ready had. After I manually deleted all of the duplicates....Tried again to no avail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Torch 9800. I have changed the password on my email accounts, but now I cannot update the email account settings on my phone. I have tried accessing via the setup menu, where nothing happens when I select "Email Accounts" (even after a hard reboot), and through the Options menu in the messages folder. When I access it from there I get a message that says to contact the service provider.
View 5 Replies View RelatedStrange thing today - I was playng golf and trying to run a golf GPS app that required 3G. The app wasn't working. I noticed that, instead of the 3G icon in the notification bar, there was only a little circle. I know what that means - I am not getting a strong enough 3G signal. I guess that's why the golf GPS app wasn't working. That's not what was strange . . .
What was strange was, I couldn't make any phone calls with my iPhone. I don't think there is any relationship between the strength of my 3G Internet service connection, and the ability of the phone to make a phone call. As I recall, the ascending bars (which indicate strength of phone signal, as I understand it) were OK.
My Torch appears to be a little bit poorlyI got an update to BBM which I installed, then it asked for a reboot, which I did Now its stuck on a reboot cycleI tried to enter safe mode (to uninstall the problematic application) to no effect.Then reading this wonderful site, tried the fix here url...yBut am unable to do so(When I plug in the phone I do not get the option of USB-PIN: UNKNOWN Its either blank, or I have my phone with its PIN number listed.Either way when I try to enter the app loader, the reboot sequence has started again and I'm again unable to get into the phone.unable to update os via desktop manager as phone keeps rebooting itself

The phone wil enter bedside mode and i get a message stating that the phone will not charge. I am able to charge the phone without the dock using the exact same cable. On the mac all it says is we can't connect to the update server, within literally 1 second, I mean is it even trying? On windows it says theres 0KB space to install the update when on the home page clearly shows there is 3.6GB of free space. I'm trying to stay patient but this is ridiculous.

When I try the desktop manager, it says there are no updates for my device. The OTASL diagnostic update says " request failed 22c67b020110512204609 01 of 01". Does anyone know what the problem is based on the information above? It sounds like the upgrade is a dud, since it won't update using either the phone or the desktop software.
I received notification to do a system update so i did to vs 6.0.0.3155, now i cang get emails, i have tried pulling the battery and restarting, i have tried going to set up and email and then it freezes and wont do anything. I have tried deleting email account from the phone completely and restarting the phone and tring to go through set up once again and the same thing it freezes up. also they touch pad is now not working properly as well as its working slowly
