I recently purchased a Blackberry Sync Pod and for some reason the phone will not charge while on the dock. The phone wil enter bedside mode and i get a message stating that the phone will not charge. I am able to charge the phone without the dock using the exact same cable. The retailer isnt willing to assist in this matter as they say it is something I need to take up with the manufacture.whats wrong or how to make the phone charge?
I know there are separate posts on this subject on connection consistency problems but I can't seem to get an answer to a fundamental question. Is the problem hardware or software related? Since turning off WiFi improves the connection consistency significantly what does that imply? I want to return my Torch of this is a hardware issue.
Last friday I went to sleep with my bb torch 9800 dieing. I woke up to charge it and there was no response besides a red light when plugged in then it went out and then no light eventually. I ordered a new battery and got it today. It charged for 10 seconds then tried turning itself on and died and kept repeating this process and now im back to the red light when I plug it in and thats all..The light keeps going out then no response.
Blackberry torch 9800 gets charged from laptop and wall mount. When I tried using thru car adapter it would not work. I have checked the adapter, it charges the other non blackberry mobile. My Question, do we need to have a special car adapter for blackberry touch or do we need to make some changes in the setup.
I recently acquired a torch 9800. I started enjoying the ph. when I registered it with my internet provider for some reason the ph. went crazy. It send me the message saying welcome to bb but when the battery died i havent been able to get it charge again. When I connect it to the charger the light comes on but stays on only for like 10 seconds and thats it. When I connected to the computer the same the light stays on for like 10 seconds and it goes off. I haven't been able to even turn it on.
I am running into an issue, periodically, where my Torch 9800 appears to be charging when placed within my dock, but loses battery life (appears to actually drain the battery) over the course of an evening if shut off. This never used to be the case, as the device would charge regardless of whether it remained on or was shut off. I also cannot rely on the flashing light (when put in charger) as the device does not do this on occasion, even when it does appear to be charging. I am wondering if this is a common occurance and whether there is anything I can do to ensure this problem is fixed, as I would like to rely on my Torch as an alarm clock, but need to know that the battery will not die over the course of an evening.
My blackberry Torch 9800 won't turn on or charge. I've tried removing the battery, SIM and memory card. I've tried both AC and USB charging and nothing is working. When I connect it to my computer to charge through the USB the phone is not showing on my computer. I suspect the USB port on the phone is defective. What can be done?
Ive had my Torch for about 1 and a half. Recently Ive had problems with it. It turns off by itself and after it reboots it turns on by itself again it works for a bit and then it does the same thing again.
Had my replacement phone turn up Friday as my original froze up when left alone or when being used and i have the same problem with the referbished phone they sent me does any body else have the same problem as its not just a matter of leaving it alone as it froze a 11.45pm and was still showing 11.45pm at 7.30am
With all the problems bb having I tryed to reboot my mobile by pulling my battery, yes the battery was low but when I put it back in my phone was dead I have tried charging by usb and wall charger, my computer wont find it and I don't know what to do I also tried a new battery sill no good!
My Torch 9800 totally discharged. I have tried to rechange using the mains power charger (not USB). I get a red flashing light, ocassionally see the charging symbol but the phone wont power on.
I'm traveling to London, England this upcoming week and purchased a Power Converter/ Adapter with a USB port. When I plugged the Blackberry into the USB, it said the charging device doesn't have enough power to charge the Blackberry. It says the USB output is 5VDC, 1 A max.How much power is required to charge the Blackberry and do you have any recommendations for power converters/adapters that are compatible with the Torch?
I have a Motocaddy golf trolley with a USB port for charging devises but my Blackberry 9860 will not charge.Message is that battery source will not charge the devise.
I had to exchage my Torch yesterday....due to constant reboots and buttons getting loose. But now I can't get my BIS email (att.blackberry.net) working. I called AT&T and was on the phone for like 2 hours and they were clueless. Has anyone had this same problem or know how to get it working without creating a new email.
The blackberry podcast list is limited. This may be a stupid question, but how can I add podcasts to the BlackBerry Podcast App? I can't seem to figure it out. There used to be an option to add a podcast url but that seems to have disappeared.
"The guys over at Engaget have gotten their hands on a near-release version of Research In Motion Ltd.’s (RIM) most anticipated smartphone of the year. The markings on the phone give it all away. It is official: the BlackBerry 9800 Torch is coming to AT&T.
While you some of you all sigh, and others cheer, rest assured that a Verizon Wireless version has to be somewhere in the works. With all of the rumors of the iPhone 4 appearing at a Verizon store near you sometime around the end of the year, RIM would have to be crazy to keep this new gem on only one carrier. Then again, Verizon is getting the BlackBerry Storm 3 , so maybe this is going to be AT&T’s baby for at least a little while.
Reports say that the BlackBerry 9800 is running BlackBerry OS 6 in a pre-release form, but we still have gotten no official word on the name. “Torch,” “Bold” and “Slide” have all been circulating as possibilities. With support for WCDMA bands I, II, V and VI, the new phone will be operable over most of Europe and Japan—excellent news for business travelers.
Since the 9800 is expected to be out by August, here is a quick rundown on the specifics that are known:
- A Webkit-based browser (like the iPhone)
- BlackBerry OS 6
- A touch-screen
- Slide-out keyboard
- WCDMA bands I, II, V and VI for international travelers
- An expected price range of $199 to $299
Little is known about the processors in the Torch, RAM or storage, but the Storm 3 will allegedly have a 1 Ghz processor and 1GB of RAM, so do not expect the Torch to disappoint."
My BB Torch 9800 on my AT&T network is constantly not holding any battery charge, it's constantly dying on me even though I constantly have in plugged into a car charger or a wall charger at all times, it also started to reboot itself and then once its complete it reboots itself again and again and again. I've tried leaving the battery out for 15min and then trying to reboot it again, that does nothing. I've gone into the Options section under Device and disables the Compression, that did nothing, I've check the CPU Usage for the day and the week nothing is really eating the power up. I have also held down the menu button and switched off all my apps in there and still no better.
My Blackberry torch 9800 is stuck in a reboot loop tried all fixes nothing works, desk top manager wont fix, nor will a download of OS, sounds like a common problem
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
I had a Windows failure that has resulted in all programmes having to be re-installed, including Blackberry Desktop. Now when I connect the Torch 9800 to my computer the programme opens and the model is recognised but it fails to connect to synchronise. Error message - "Blackberry Desktop Software cannot comunicate with the connected device". How can I solve this problem as all the requisite conditions for connection have been fulfilled.
I used to be able to sync all my contacts with my 9700 bold, but now since I received the torch, it is giving me an error saying I should look at the desktop manager information. with a # that says KB14545 error or whatever. What should I do to sync my contacts. p.s. Google sync sucks, it re-duplicated my contacts making me have 1400 contacts when I only have 170.
I'm a new Blackberry user just picking up a Torch today. I proceeded to sunc up my Contacts using Blackberry Desktop Manager and was presented with an error and a KB article to consult. KB19454-"The <organizer application> database cannot be accessed for synchronization" appears when attempting a synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager 1.0 on a Mac computer
Has anyone experienced this issue and no the solution? Although the KB article references many sync item issues, mine is with contacts. I admit I was a little disappointed to find that out-of-the-box I was unable to sync with Contacts on OS X.
Trying to synch Torch 9800 running 6.0 Bundle 2949 with Outlook 2010 on a new Windows 7.0 desktop.
Desktop is newly loaded Version 7.1.0.32.
When I connect the back-up works ok. Synching then starts but fails at different stages :one time I see where there are differences, click one and then everything hangsEarlier, it read the records and was about to start the synch then froze. One time it froze during the reading of records. On my old desktop running Office 200 and Widows 7.0 at least it synched, although I did suffer from duplications in the calendar.
Seriously think of giving up on BB and going to Windows phone when my contract comes up, as this is a key requirement for me.
i had a blackberry torch 9800 which i backed up to the blackberry desktop then it was sent away for a repair and they replaced it with anew 9800 i have tried to recover everything from the desktop but it says i need the old blackberry first?
After the last software update I reset my sync with desktop configurations. The calendar fails to reset despite numerous tried and I desperately NEED my calendar to sync and everything else syncs BUT the calendar. what else can I try?
Since I updated to the new 6.0.2.44 upgrade I haven't been able to sync to my laptop. I connect my cable to the 9800 and start the software. It tells me to connect to my 9800 and says disconnected in the lower right corner. I've pulled my battery and restarted, but no luc
