I am running into an issue, periodically, where my Torch 9800 appears to be charging when placed within my dock, but loses battery life (appears to actually drain the battery) over the course of an evening if shut off. This never used to be the case, as the device would charge regardless of whether it remained on or was shut off. I also cannot rely on the flashing light (when put in charger) as the device does not do this on occasion, even when it does appear to be charging. I am wondering if this is a common occurance and whether there is anything I can do to ensure this problem is fixed, as I would like to rely on my Torch as an alarm clock, but need to know that the battery will not die over the course of an evening.
I recently purchased a Blackberry Sync Pod and for some reason the phone will not charge while on the dock. The phone wil enter bedside mode and i get a message stating that the phone will not charge. I am able to charge the phone without the dock using the exact same cable. The retailer isnt willing to assist in this matter as they say it is something I need to take up with the manufacture.whats wrong or how to make the phone charge?
Occassionally when I plug my charger into my phone, I get an error message and the phone doesn't start to charge. I have to do a battery pull and wait for the phone to start up again before I can plug in the charger and have it properly charge.
Last friday I went to sleep with my bb torch 9800 dieing. I woke up to charge it and there was no response besides a red light when plugged in then it went out and then no light eventually. I ordered a new battery and got it today. It charged for 10 seconds then tried turning itself on and died and kept repeating this process and now im back to the red light when I plug it in and thats all..The light keeps going out then no response.
Blackberry torch 9800 gets charged from laptop and wall mount. When I tried using thru car adapter it would not work. I have checked the adapter, it charges the other non blackberry mobile. My Question, do we need to have a special car adapter for blackberry touch or do we need to make some changes in the setup.
I recently acquired a torch 9800. I started enjoying the ph. when I registered it with my internet provider for some reason the ph. went crazy. It send me the message saying welcome to bb but when the battery died i havent been able to get it charge again. When I connect it to the charger the light comes on but stays on only for like 10 seconds and thats it. When I connected to the computer the same the light stays on for like 10 seconds and it goes off. I haven't been able to even turn it on.
My blackberry Torch 9800 won't turn on or charge. I've tried removing the battery, SIM and memory card. I've tried both AC and USB charging and nothing is working. When I connect it to my computer to charge through the USB the phone is not showing on my computer. I suspect the USB port on the phone is defective. What can be done?
With all the problems bb having I tryed to reboot my mobile by pulling my battery, yes the battery was low but when I put it back in my phone was dead I have tried charging by usb and wall charger, my computer wont find it and I don't know what to do I also tried a new battery sill no good!
My Torch 9800 totally discharged. I have tried to rechange using the mains power charger (not USB). I get a red flashing light, ocassionally see the charging symbol but the phone wont power on.
I'm traveling to London, England this upcoming week and purchased a Power Converter/ Adapter with a USB port. When I plugged the Blackberry into the USB, it said the charging device doesn't have enough power to charge the Blackberry. It says the USB output is 5VDC, 1 A max.How much power is required to charge the Blackberry and do you have any recommendations for power converters/adapters that are compatible with the Torch?
My BB Torch 9800 on my AT&T network is constantly not holding any battery charge, it's constantly dying on me even though I constantly have in plugged into a car charger or a wall charger at all times, it also started to reboot itself and then once its complete it reboots itself again and again and again. I've tried leaving the battery out for 15min and then trying to reboot it again, that does nothing. I've gone into the Options section under Device and disables the Compression, that did nothing, I've check the CPU Usage for the day and the week nothing is really eating the power up. I have also held down the menu button and switched off all my apps in there and still no better.
I occasionally get error messages on my home screen, it it usually for bbm, and then none of my messaging works, but just recently had one for app phone I think the error number was 126.
Once the error message appears I have to take the battery out as the phone freezes up, how do I fix this? Have checked for software updates for the apps and the device and nothing is available.
I have recently upgraded my phone to the updated OS 7.0 Bundle 2406. My touchscreen occassionally freezes and does not respond for sometimes 15 minutes at a time. I do not recall if my touchscreen used to freeze before the update. However, I have tried downgrading back to the old OS and this does not work. Very often the touch screen seems to freeze after disconnecting from the USB cable connection to the PC or the bluetooth I use in my car
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
i had a blackberry torch 9800 which i backed up to the blackberry desktop then it was sent away for a repair and they replaced it with anew 9800 i have tried to recover everything from the desktop but it says i need the old blackberry first?
On other BB's I've moved pictures from the device to the media card using the "move" function - I can't find this on the Torch. Am I overlooking something or will I have to use Desktop Manager?
does anyone no how to transfer all my contact from my Tour which is cdma with no sim card to my new Torch with sim card. i cant do it using blackberry desktop software.
I'm not sure how to connect my school email to my blackberry Torch. My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. It does provide instructions on how to link to the Blackberry but it doens't work for the Torch because the option doesn't exist. (Instructions)To set up the BlackBerry's email client with Google Apps email (IMAP), just follow these steps: On your BlackBerry device, navigate to your home screenSelect the icon that lets you set up email (this can be called Setup, Setup Wizard, Email Setup, BlackBerry Set-up, E-mail settings, or Personal Email Set-up)Follow the setup instructions provided on your device to create a new e-mail accountBe sure to enter the following:Mail Server: imap.gmail.comUsername: [your full Google Apps email address]Password: [your Google Apps password]IMAP Port: 993Allow the system to add your account, but do not enter your Google Apps password into the utility boxes (this causes the system to default to POP3 instead of IMAP)Select NextSelect Next again (bypassing the 'Additional Information Required' section)Select your account type, then select Next. You may encounter a 'We were unable to configure...' error. Select I will provide the settings to continueSelect the option that mentions 'IMAP/POP'Select I will provide the settings..., then select NextSelect Set up existing email account...Enter your Google Apps account information here, with 'imap.gmail.com' as your mail serverSelect NextSelect Save
So I have a few pics I took with the Torch and I have some wallpapers that I added to the device. Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.
I assume since I can't find it, there's no way to turn the feature OFF? I find it highly annoying to make noises when there's really no shutter action. I searched and couldn't find anything on the topic.
1. images are not automatically appearing (need to click get images) 2. the HTML emails are appearing too wide. I have to scroll to the right to see the other half of the email.
As you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?
