Nokia Nseries :: Magnetometer Not Working Properly On Belle?
Feb 20, 2012I made Qt application which collects data from sensors (accelerometer, magnetometer, proximity, compass, GPS...). I have used application on N8 and it works perfecly on Anna devices. However, there seems to be problem with Belle. It works fine at start (from 5 to 60 minutes) but in some point magnetometers and compass seem to freeze, and I do not get updates their values. This problem seems to be related with Belle because it works fine on Anna and I've tested the application with two different N8 phones running Belle.

Aug 28, 2010I'm really surprised to not see more posts with questions or information about turning off the tilt function of the 9800. The most annoying thing is that I like showing 3 rows of icons on the home screen, but if you tilt it, it changes to 2 rows, tilt it back to portrait and it stays at 2. This happens every time. Not to mention, on a reboot, it reverts back to 1 row! Unlike the Storm, you cannot set a default number of rows. Regardless, I would ONLY use the landscape option while watching videos....so the tilt is very annoying. Anybody know of any way to turn off the tilt function? Maybe in the programming?
When I had my Storm, there were plenty of applications out there to stop the tilt, but ALL BUT ONE did not retain the settings after a reboot. This was very annoying. Even the one that did retain after a reboot, sometimes failed to work properly.
BB Torch :: Application Loader Stopped Working
Jan 26, 2011when i plug my blackberry torch on the computer, the DM recognize it but when i go in the application section it starts loading (verifying all the stuff)but then the application loader appears to crash an i get message saying "Handheld Application Loader Wizard has stopped working" and i really dont know what to do.

Mar 14, 2010I did a quick search and didn't find anything about this problem. I'll try to explain what's happening and hope somebody can give me some ideas.There are 3 towers that I use when I am driving around for work, all almost in line with one another.I live at A and have EDGE service there only. I know and accept this. I work at B, where there is 3G. Tower C also has 3G.The problem I have is that when I go from A to B, my phone does not automatically switch to 3G. In fact, I let it be all day today and never switched from EDGE. Its not until I get into range of tower C that it switches over. If I come from C to B I have 3G coverage at B, but if I come from A to B it doesn't register.
Its difficult to explain with words but I hope that works.Is this a problem with the radio, or the phone, or something else? Its terribly frustrating as I spend a lot of time driving between these several coverages and want the changes to be as fluid as possible.I failed to mention that I have the newest firmware from HTC on the phone, the one that gave me WM 6.1. I didn't want to change to a cooked ROM until I got everything figured out.
HTC :: How To Turn Off And Wake Up Tilt 2?
Jan 15, 2010I know this may sound like a VERY very naive/dumb question but how does one turn off the phone (other than pulling the battery out!)?? Obviously I've pressed the power button but that does nothing. Is there some type of trick to this?? Also, how do you wake up/unlock it other than having to flip open the keyboard?? Sorry but this is my first non S60 phone.

Feb 1, 2010i am looking at buying a tilt 2 from at&t (upgrade from a pantech duo). basically i am really craving wi-fi. i want the wifi because i cant afford the unlimited data package per month (im a college kid, and those prices are just ubsurd! ). and so i was thinking about upgrading and then because you have to buy the data package with the phone canceling it like the second day i have the phone.. however i heard from my cousin (who has like a nokia e71) that he tried this and after he canceled it he says his wi-fi does not work now b/c he does not have the unlimited data plan. this is just so plainly a money grab and selfish by at&t..
is this the same case with the htc tilt 2? and if so are there any easy hacks around it? or would it better to buy an unlocked one from ebay?this is pretty much the deciding point on whether i buy one.
HTC :: Original Tilt Can't Maintain A 3G Connection
Mar 25, 2010I just started having problems with my tilt in that it can't maintain a 3G connection. On EDGE/GSM it works just fine but as soon as I get in range of a 3G tower it connects for a few seconds and then boots me off the network completely. It then searches for a while, finds the signal again, and the cycle starts over. I've tried a few different sim cards to no avail. Is this something in the software or is my phone an expensive paperweight now?

Mar 21, 2010Hope this has not been asked somewhere else, but I bought used Tilt form a co worker, was told by AT&T that there should have been 5 tries to unlock, when I got it there were 3. I used 2 got one left. The IMEI # on the phone and when checked for electronically are the same. The unlock code was verfied sevaral times through AT&T and I have a european sim in it. And am unable to unlock. When the phone starts up it takes you directly to the unlock screen. Any idea why I cant unlock this? 1 try left and its not good for Europe!!!

Jun 20, 2010I recently bought Nokia 7020 Flip phone and found this problem with primary display which is 2.2 inches. Problem is you cannot read out the screen when you tilt the screen even 30 degrees. Photos just look like as negatives when you tilt the phone to 60 degrees angle. You can see the correct display on the screen only when it is exactly in front of your face. Is this a problem with my phone or it the problem with Nokia 7020 Flip phone itself.
Nokia Dealer told me that Nokia has introduce LCD screen for this phone and not TFT screen as found in any other model of Nokia, hence this is a normal behavior. You will see the display correctly only when it is exactly in front of your face/eyes.
I cannot check with any other dealer as they do not have any demo model of the phone which I can operate. All are factory sealed and dealer refuse to open the box to get hands-on experience. Even he refused to take back this phone saying this is normal behavior with this model, when I told him that I want to return this phone for this screen display problem.
I still cannot believe that Nokia will introduce this type of screen in this newer model, where user will have to keep the screen in from of his/her eyes without tilting even 30 degrees to see the correct display on the screen.Whether Nokia is compromising on quality to reduce the cost? Could anyone please confirm on this behavior of Nokia 7020 flip screen.

May 12, 2011I have a torch and recently I changed my password of my gmail account, therefore I am asked to update the password via email set up application. I have done this before and everything works well.
This time, it prompts an update and will not proceed without updating. It requests to install version 6.11.0324.1701 to replace my 6.0.0 version and in the mean time, it prompts a message: if "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client", which is also used by "Email Setup Application". If you proceed, "Email setup up application" may cease to function property. Proceed? I proceeded once and it basically gave me the white screen "Application Error" page when I reboot so I have to reload my entire phone.
My dilemma is, there is no way to bypass this process however my email is not working.

Mar 11, 2010This is for anyone that uses the Kobo Application for ereading. I am having major issues with it and the Kobo people seem to think that there is a problem with my blackberry. They tell me that I am missing a 'store directory' that should be a default on my phone. Apparently I do not have this directory and the application won't work without it.
Is there anyone that knows how to get this directory or have had similar problem where they can't sign into their account. The exact message I get when I try to do so is "This action cannon be completed. Please try again later". I have deleted it, installed it again and restarted so many times. I have slowly begun to give up on installing it but I still want it!
If anyone has pointers on how this application can finally work I am open for it!
