I have bought this mobile phone for one month, and I can't use the app manager.I have searched in other forums but I didn't find any useful answer. So I going to explain my problems: Always that I run the app manager it prompts a message that says: "Operation fail" maybe it's not a correct translation, I have the phone in Spanish. Ok if I press the download icon it appears that there are not available applications, if I do the same with the update icon appears the same text and the "operation fail" message. If I try to download anything from the OVI or from maemo.org, It start to do it but a few second later it pront the next message: "Impossible download ........" "don't find the package from the app" this appears with everything I try to download.Someone can help me? maybe I need to do something in my mobile. The only thing I have done is upgrade it to the software version: 10.2010.19-1
Can someone tell me what the symbols and colors signify in Application Manager->Installed applications? There's a puzzle piece with a red square, a puzzle piece with a blue square, and a white square with a blue squiggle in the center.
I'v tried updating the software, but i cant connect to nokia update the catalogue. nither can i connect to the apps catalogues and same goes for the ovi catalogue. the error it gives me is connection timed out error. i connect through wi-fi, and i can use the internet through the browser, no probs their. their is another poster with this same problem, but the solution he got didnt work out for me. i updated throught the pc but the update didnt fix anything.
I had to factory reset my phone. I can see all my games in my application manager as I made sure to save them to the mass memory not the phone memory.Anyway, I can't get the icons to pop back up into the Applications folder so I can play them. Any suggestions?
I have new N900. whenever I used to open the Application manager and was looking for updates, it was starting to check but after some time i was getting msg that there is some problem in some catalogue. But now a days whenever I open application manager it immediately gives the message "Operation Failed". But the window remains open. I did a partial restore using the Nokia Suite, selecting only the "Device settings an applications" content (I wanted to restore a theme that I wasn't able to download again without purchasing a second time). The restoral was successful and I have the theme back. The problem is that several other themes that I no longer want were also put back on my N8. I go to Settings>Application manager>Installed apps, however none of the restored themes are listed (they are all taking up Device Memory). how I can delete these items from my phone and thus free up the memory they are occupying?
I have my preferred connections setup with my home WLAN as priority, then my cell phone provider (ATT) as the last priority. The connection manager switches from my WLAN to ATT everytime I go out of range of my WLAN fully automatically. So that part is working as designed. The problem is when I get back to my home WLAN the connection manager doesn't automatically drop the EDGE or 3G connection and connect to my WLAN.
To make things worse, even if I kill the EDGE or 3G connection manually, it may or may not pick up my WLAN and start using it. Then, if I can get the WLAN to connect, the connection manager will insist on connecting to the EDGE/3G connection and disconnecting the WLAN. This is crazy behavior. I've been pretty happy with the phone's stability over my old N78, but I hope to Zeus that a Firmware upgrade will be release that fixes this bug. It drives me nuts........................
Why does desktop manager not allow you to delete off applications you aren't going to use? The ones I'm specifically wanting to delete are in the downloads folder-mobile video, community, music apps, my-cast weather, MobiTV, MusicID, and XMradio. I'd like to get rid of these to free up some space for other applications I will use.
I'm trying to remove the Samsung Music Player app but when I go to Application Manager or App Info, the Disable button is grayed out. How do I kill this app?
I Just Installed BlackBerry Desktop Manager V5.01 and it wouldn't pick up my phone even though it's connected. I tried accessing the the BlackBerry Device Manager and it says 'The application has failed to start because XmlLite.dll was not found. Re-Installing the application may fix this problem.' - Of which I have done twice already. Is there a problem with this version of Desktop manager or any resolutions to fix this? I'm trying to upgrade my device to OS6.
So, I have finally admitted it to myself, I'm getting old. Since our IT department doesn't want to combine applications for the ability to have one password to open everything, it is not really their fault, laws prohibit this. So to keep track of the four dozen passwords I habe at work, and two or three dozen personal ones, the spreadshhet has been made. It works OK at work, but when I'm home, it becomes a bit of a pain. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good quality password managing application. The only two criteria that I have is, it has to be encrypted, and I need to be able to pair it to my DX2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and have the ability to access it on a computer. My initial thought is a good Excel file, that I can jot a couple lines of code to lock it down
I don't have any file manager on my phone and even if I manage to download one, I don't know how to install it!I've tested some apk files on my SD card, copied them in "others folder" and also directly in the SD card. But could see none of them when I went to settings/applications/manage applications. So how on earth can I install a software or application on my phone? I even can't access a file manager to find them!
The OVI Store application in my phone will not open, everytime I try to open the app it doesn't do anything, so I open the browser to go to the OVI store website, try to download any application and when it is trying to install it says "file corrupted" so I'm not able to install or buy any application from the OVI store. I have the latest software update. I also have the latest OVI suite application for Windows Vista and when I try to install the "software support" it fails.
