Nokia :: N900 Installed Program From App Manager - Now Device Only Shows A Lot of Small Letters And Restarts Again
Feb 15, 2010I installed a program from app manager , I dont remember the name of te application...everthing was installed correctly...then later I uninstalled and restarted the device.....but now the device only shows me a lot of small letters and restarts again. when I try to flash the phone in a xp 32 bit computer the system shows me that the driver is corrupted....and dont let me do the flash proccess wiht the maemo flasher 3.5.

Mar 16, 20101 - Not all n900 applications i find on the net are searchable or listed at all on the n900s built in application downloader. some files i download manually off the net are in gz and deb format. do i need to install the nokia pc software and transfer them to the phone in order to use them, as i cannot find any other way to do it? from using google there are an awful lot of users saying the nokia software does not work very well at the moment and to avoid using it until its fully adapted for the n900, as some features are supposedly unusable?
2 - is there an easy file unzip program for the n900, hopefully easily found within the n900s application downloader? i tried searching for 'zip' and 'unzip' but nothing crops up

Aug 22, 2010I have bought this mobile phone for one month, and I can't use the app manager.I have searched in other forums but I didn't find any useful answer.So I going to explain my problems: Always that I run the app manager it prompts a message that says: "Operation fail" maybe it's not a correct translation, I have the phone in Spanish. Ok if I press the download icon it appears that there are not available applications, if I do the same with the update icon appears the same text and the "operation fail" message.If I try to download anything from the OVI or from maemo.org, It start to do it but a few second later it pront the next message: "Impossible download ........" "don't find the package from the app" this appears with everything I try to download.Someone can help me? maybe I need to do something in my mobile.The only thing I have done is upgrade it to the software version: 10.2010.19-1

Feb 3, 2010I'v tried updating the software, but i cant connect to nokia update the catalogue. nither can i connect to the apps catalogues and same goes for the ovi catalogue. the error it gives me is connection timed out error. i connect through wi-fi, and i can use the internet through the browser, no probs their. their is another poster with this same problem, but the solution he got didnt work out for me. i updated throught the pc but the update didnt fix anything.

Jan 6, 2012I did a partial restore using the Nokia Suite, selecting only the "Device settings an applications" content (I wanted to restore a theme that I wasn't able to download again without purchasing a second time). The restoral was successful and I have the theme back. The problem is that several other themes that I no longer want were also put back on my N8. I go to Settings>Application manager>Installed apps, however none of the restored themes are listed (they are all taking up Device Memory). how I can delete these items from my phone and thus free up the memory they are occupying?

Mar 31, 2010I've been running a copy of windows live messenger on my e71 successfully for over a year - the other day (and no, I hadn't run any updates recently) I tried to use it and found the icon has just vanished! - it was still listed in App. Mgr. as "installed" but there was no icon anywhere, not in "installations" etc. etc. i updated the phone firmware, uninstalled in app.mgr reinstalled etc. etc. tried different .sis no joy at all - any ideas? it's almost if it's being hidden - is there some app I can use to see the icon location of installed apps?

I called AT&T Support they transferred me over to advanced support, the woman there catogorically stated there is no compatible version of BB Maps with the 9700, doesn't exist. This Morning I decided to investigate my Application Folder or Inventory on the 9700 and sure enough its there, unless I have a broken brain under 3 rd party applications it says " Blackberry Maps 5..0.0" 7 modules installed and it shows the Update Date, the purchase date I connected to Blackberry Desk Top Manager and upgraded all the software.

Nov 5, 2011I had a very odd thing happen I had moved 5 or 6 apps to the SD card using the manage apps function on my phone this morning when I turned my phone on the apps that I had moved to the sd card were gone there was a different icon in place of them when i pushed the icon it said that the program was not installed I went back to manage apps function and the app was still listed I tryed to move them back to the phone but it failed so I had to reinstall them from the market now they work just fine again I have alot of PDFs and Docs and Exel files on the SD card none of them were affected I also have links on one of my home pages setup to open up these files and they were not affected so it seems as there is not a problem with the SD card just with the apps that I had moved there.

Several internet searches suggest setting the music player to never auto end in the task manager on the Droid X. Only problem is I cannot find where the "pre-installed" task manager app is located to check the auto-end list. I have looked though all of apps in the "app tray" and also explored the settings under settings-application management.
