Out of no where, I noticed that my phone rebooted itself without me initiating a reboot. The progress bar makes it around 60% or so then the screen goes dark and starts the reboot process all over again. I might add, the phone was working fine all day today inside of my home with no water damaging environment
View 3 RepliesI have tried soft reboot, double soft reboot, hard reboot (removal and replacement of battery for 10sec to 1hr). Due to the reboot can not connect to computer to assist. Removed the sim and memory card and attempted to reboot with no success.ttempt to reboot in safe-mode failed also. I can not shut down except to remove battery. I have tried being connected to the computer without the battery and then replacing the battery that did not work either. like this model it has all the features I need, I need to have it functional ASAP or I will will have to change the phone and the service provider. My company is not tolerant of companies that do not support their productsand provide service solutions in a timely manner.This problem started sometime around 7-3-2012 (this doesn't have anything to do with the 5000 Blackberry layoffs recently, does it?)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded the new BBM app, and the icon disappeared from my phone.I tried rebooting several times, and it finally appeared, but it wasn't called BBM, rather net_rim_something.When I clicked on it, it said "missing resource files" and wouldn't load.I also noticed that my BBM connected apps (Facebook, etc) were not loading properly.So I backed up my BBM contacts, and deleted and re-installed, but there was no icon again.I checked this forum, and found a similar problem, and the solution was to check if the software needed updating, which would fix the problem.I checked on my Torch, and it said there was an update available, so I downloaded it. It downloaded fine, and then asked if I wanted to install it, and gave a warning message that it might take 2 hours or more.This was fine with me, as I was going to bed soon, and wouldn't be using it.Before I went to bed, I noticed that it was rebooting.I figured I would just leave it and go to bed.When I got up this morning, I noticed it was still rebooting.The white bar would go all the way across, then it would go to a white screen, go black again, and then start over.I checked the forums again, and found a similar issue, which said to pull the battery and replace it. Did so, and it didn't work.I have tried several times, and even left the battery out for 2 hours, in the vain hope this might work.I tried connecting to BlackBerry Desktop to do a restore, but it can't connect to the phone, because it is stuck in reboot.

I have tried reinstalling the OS using the AppLoader, tried simply hitting "Update" from my Desktop Manager, I have essentially tried everything I have found online about a "nuked or bricked BB". I have been working on this for days.The problem is that, because of the reboot loop, my phone will not stay connected to my computer long enough for anything to actually happen. I get the error message "Unable to maintain JVC connection" or something along the lines of "Your device is not connected, please reconnect, enter your password and continue".I have had this phone for a year and love it. I made an investment in a BB product and I expect it to last more than one year! If I need to take it in for service, so I simply return to the store where it was purchased?

However, the phone shutdown suddenly, and it tried to reboot. It has since failed to boot up, and keeps on shutting down, while trying to reboot. The progress bar always reaches approx. 95%+, and then it starts again. I have already done Battery pull etc., and connected it with a charger - but so far no luck with it. Connected it to the laptop as well - but it does not recognize it either. I have a backup from a couple of weeks ago, so I am wondering, how I can reset the device and restore to an earlier backup? This is a month old Torch 9800 device.

Before anyone say's anything, I CAN'T get a replacement, this is NOT an option for me since the phone was a gift and I live in Dominican Republic, no Sprint here. Here's my story:So I got a Torch 9850 from Sprint as a gift from a friend. It suffered the nuked syndrome and I haven't been able to fix it. For the first few weeks I messed around with it trying all the steps I knew to get a nuked BlackBerry back alive. My PC does detect the BlackBerry, and so does AppLoader, but it keeps restarting and so AppLoader wouldn't successfully load the OS on it.A few days ago OS 7.1 was released for the 9850 and YES! AppLoader finally started the loading OS process...but it's not all happiness there either. When it gets to the second step "Wait for device initialization", right after the "Load JVM and system software" step, that's when the restarting starts again. When AppLoader is reconnecting to JVM, the phone enters a restarting loop and so an error shows saying "Unable to connect to device" and no matter how much I hit "Retry" it won't get past it. So this is where I need help, is there anyone out there that has been able to fix their 9850?

Internet works just fine with wifi, but not on mobile network. my blackberry was unlocked from an at&t branding, but i don't think that's the problem, since everything else works just fine.

I am running with the v7.1.0.523 and this error message has been since I had this phone with V7.0 OS. So doesn't mater which version or how many times I upgrade my OS, it stills showing "An error has occurred attempting to play media"xxxxx".
Every time I'm on my musical mood I have to pull the battery off? That really means that I have to pull the battery like 2 or 3 times per day just because I wanted to play some music? I'm pretty sure iPhones doesn't need a reboot every time they have to play a media, and it's so annoying to have to do so. How to play my music without getting this effin message?
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.

I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.
