BB Torch :: 9800 Wifi Connects But Does Not Browse
Jun 14, 2012The message 'A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy.., please try again later" . I have an unlocked phone, and it worked fine on the wifi with a foreign SIM card. I traveled abroad always with the mobile network off and just using the wifi and it worked perfectly. Only when came back to the U.S. and inserted my AT&T SIM card and registered the phone with them, the wifi did not work any more, even though it connects to all the available wifi networks.I have tried everything: re-registering the phone with the previous foreign SIM card; reset the phone to factory defaults; but it did not solve the problem.

Aug 6, 2010I did a search and couldn't find how to transfer all my info on my 8900 to my new 9700 with BB user tools using MAC OS. Can't find any info in the book or the help on the CD and software. I've backed up my 8900 and was going to restore the info on my 9700 cause I couldn't find the device transfer icon on my macbook but I know where it is on my work machine on Windows. Am I missing something here or am I just half asleep.

As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.

May 22, 2011I had to restart my Torch 9800 after deleting an application. I pressed "Restart now", it went to the booting/start up screen with the BlackBerry logo and the loading bar at the bottom but then the loading bar froze at the very end.
I tried the ALT + right MAJ + DEL "soft reset" and the battery pull many times but the loading bar kept freezing at the same point everytime. I even removed the battery for a day but nothing changed.
The BlackBerry Desktop Software on my computer recognizes it as a Torch 9800 but is unable to connect to the terminal. I've seen on a forum that you can try to use AppLoader.exe to restore the OS. I'm not sure I did that right though but anyway AppLoader couldn't proceed the step of the connection to my terminal. It recognizes it, asks for the password but can't connect to it. It is kind of as soon as the loading bar freezes, AppLoader is unable to perform anything that could save my Torch.

Dec 10, 2014I have the HTC One M8 (developer's edition). It was an unlocked AT&T phone but I am using it on Net 10. The data via wireless is fine. If I switch to mobile data I can use any of the android apps (Facebook, mail, etc), I can even use google search and get a results page.....BUT if I click on one of the links that shows up after a search......the page NEVER loads. The progress bar starts but then just stops. No error message. This happens in all browsers on all pages. I've tried alternate apn settings. It seems to happen only in LTE. If I disable LTE then it works fine but why should I have to settle for a slower connection. HTC says its a carrier issue.

Jul 30, 2011I had my BlckBerry Torch 9800 with; OS 6.0 with Bundle 1907 plugged in all night charging and when I got up this morning the phone was rebooting. While after awhile of this I watch the phone go 3/4 of the way to start up then it reboots. Over and Over.Fixes I have tried:
1) removed battery wait 30 sec and put back in. NO LUCK
2) removed battery wait 6 min and put back in. NO LUCK

Then once I selected my BES account there was an option to "send email to handheld" or not. Something I turned off every evening and back on in the morning (don't want work emails bugging me all night).BUT, now I can't find where that option is on my Torch. Very strange. I've searched everywhere, I think. Any help would be great. At minimum, will someone who has multiple email accounts (BES) check their Torch to see if the setting I refer to is there?
