BB Torch :: Home Keys Across Bottom Of 9800 Do Not Light Up
Mar 31, 2011All of a sudden my home keys across the bottom of the 9800 do no light up. I checked the backlight settings for display but they had no effect on the home keys. Even in a completely dark room, when I take the 9800 out of the holster, the screen lights up but the home keys are out.

Sep 2, 2010I've had the Torch since the release date and fortunately I haven't had any major issues with my device, however I've noticed that there is a tiny gap between the lower left side of the bezel and the device's body. It never really caught my attention until I started typing a lot on the physical keyboard. Basically when ever my left thumb presses down on the lower left side of the bezel I notice that it slightly moves up and down and creates a soft click noise. I'm just concerned that the bezel may get worse over time. The right side of the bezel is perfectly snug against the rest of the phone but it's just the left side of the bezel that seems very slightly elevated from the phone's frame. Has anyone else noticed this on their torch?

Oct 11, 2011I have a Torch 9800 and the volume buttons on the right side of my phone don't seem to be working with any music program (Pandora, Slacker Radio, etc.) other than the normal Music program that comes with the phone. Is there something I need to do to configure the buttons for third-party music programs? It used to work just fine with these programs but no more!

Aug 21, 2010I ordered two of them, one the micro usb port inside the pod was a little more loose than the other. The more loose one was easier to get into place and take out than the other one. I also noticed that the micro usb port on both pods were kinda tilted the opposite directions, very strange.
I love the old pods that have the charging contacts because it save your usb port, but now that this one has to use the usb port I am not too sure. Though now you can sync to your computer if connected that way.I will begin using the pod at work this week, hopefully I like it.

Aug 21, 2010I can't believe that RIM designed such a stupid charging pod for the Torch! I had the pod for my 9700 and that was slick with those little metal contacts on the bottom. Very easy to just drop phone into pod. But with the new Torch, the pod is a physical connection into the micro USB port on the side of the phone!! What were they thinking??!! Isn't the idea of a pod supposed to be for the ultimate in charging ease and to prevent unnecessary wear on the USB connection?

Aug 11, 2010I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
