BB Storm :: "Blank User Name Type A Valid User Name"
Aug 29, 2011
Trying to connect a Blackberry Storm 9500 to the Blackberry Internet Service to transfer the email capture to this device.Filled in User Name with email address and then filled in password. Then get message:"Blank User Name type a valid user name"email in user name box looks good, would I get this message if the password was wrong?
When I try to send text messages or to back up my info to the ICloud, everything seems to be linked to her email address and I can't get rid of it. Do I need to wipe it all out and re-install all my contacts and pictures all over again?
Could anyone help me please, My user folder has somehow made it's way into my pictures folder, folder. I can't delete (which i suspect i shouldn't) or move it. This doesn't inter fear with the running of the phone but it annoys me. Could someone tell me how to move it please. I suspect it's really easy but don't want to do something wrong and mess up my phone.
for some reason i used the same user ID on my daughters iphone and on mine. Now we each get the others songs, photos and contacts from icloud. Is there a way to make a new user id for myself and keep my stuff
if I purchase an iPhone 4 in the USA will it work ok in the UK? and will my warranty be valid? I'm going to New York soon and I'm in no rush for the new handset but if the exchange rate is right and its cheaper in an Apple store in the USA in a few months then I was gonna wait and just pick the handset up then.
i have a jailbroken iphone 3gs w/ Winterboard and i have installed user wallpaper 4.0 / user lockscreen 4.0 and my Lockscreen photo and Wallpaper have the same photo which if i go into settings->Wallpaper it shows clearly lock & home have two diffrent photos. It was working a few days ago and i just noticed it today.
I have noticed lately that when I add a new contact or edit an old contact I don't have the option to identified if the contact has or not an iphone. When I bought the phone and was adding a new contact it shows by default the word iPhone in the space where you should add the phone number but I have found that I don't have that option anymore.
Bought a Nokia N97 Mini Gold Edition yesterday. There is no user guide in Arabic in the box. Come on seriously guys. You are selling a product in the middle east and the least you can do is provide an arabic guide along with it. Called up Nokia care, they ask you to call Axiom, call Axiom and they ask you to call Nokia. Gave up the hope. Tried to get a user guide from the Nokia support website. Go to http://www.nokia.ae/support-en/support-en/n97-mini/guides and select Arabic and the page comes back with an HTTP 404 Not Found.
Imagine buying a phone worth 2500 AED and you don't have a user guide to go with that. Imagine calling up Axiom and Nokia care line just to hear that there is no guide provided in Arabic with the phone. Imagine you feel like an idiot buying something that does not make you happy. Now imagine if that someone were to be you.
I recently purchased a new C6-01 (and first-time Nokia owner) and having trouble with getting maps restored onto a new 32GB uSDHC card and need some help.
It is my understanding that I can backup and restore all my phone contents and settings to a new memory card using Nokia Suite. So what I did is performed a complete backup using Nokia Suite, ejected the old uSD card (that came with the phone), put in the new uSD card that I had purchased and format it, then performed a complete restore to the phone and the new memory card.
During the restore, I saw errors on the phone display that said something like disk write error and gave me the option of stop or retry. I hit the retry a few times and still getting the error. Thinking it may be a bad uSD card, I returned/exchanged for another identical one. With the 2nd new card, I still get the same error message so I rebooted the phone and ran restore again but this time instead of restore everything all at once, I selected a few items at a time and eventually got everything restored, at least without errors this time.
When I ran maps after the restore, it told me that I needed to download the maps, and when I tried to download it thru a WiFi connection (at my house), I keep getting Disk error - cannot complete write. Retry or data will be lost. At this point if I run Files, it will show drive E but not any free space number (and selecting it will show free space not available). A reboot will bring back drive E and show 29.4GB free. So I am completely stumped at this point and believe that for whatever the reason I can not get maps loaded onto a non-Nokia-provided memory card.
I am running Nokia Suite 3.5.34 on WIndows XP w/SP3. The new 32GB uSDHC card is a class 4 card made by Sandisk. The phone is running the Belle Refresh v111.040.1511 dated 7/28/2012. Map version: v3.09 12wk20 b01-MW OpenGL MN-Map version 0.2.46.103
for the large amount of information posted here, but I wanted to provide enough details for you to look at.
I just switched from a Motorola nextel phone to the 8350i. They transfered all my contacts and didn't change my DC number but for some reason I can only DC one phone number on my contacts list. All the rest come up 'user not authorized' The message also shows up on the other end when they try to DC me.
My itunes applications page says I have 5 updates available, but when I click that link, it says "(my user ID) has no updates currently available." I can update from my iphone and am running the latest versions of snow leopard, itunes, and the iphone software. Thoughts?
All of these new features are great but does anyone know where to find a User Guide to show how to engage/use them? Not even Apple.com has anything listed.I stumbled on how to create folders in another thread. It would be nice if all of the info was in a doc somewhere - it'd be a timesaver for me (and I can't be the only one.
I have a weird situation here.I have a Curve 8350i; yesterday I upgraded the BlackBerry Messenger on it from 4.6 to the latest version, 126.96.36.199. That seemed to go fine; I IMed w/several of my contacts during the course of the day.Later that day I also installed updates for Google Talk, Yahoo IM, and AOL IM; why, I'm not sure, as I seldom use them. After that I noticed that I was able to send IMs via BBM to a specific user but not receive messages back; earlier in the day after upgrading to BBM 5.01 I was able to IM this user.
My phone has been a touch wonky the last few weeks so I uninstalled BBM 5 and reinstalled; that didn't work.I shut down my BB a few times, removing the battery each time, and still, nothing. This morning I performed a wipe after deleting the contact and readding said contact. Still nothing. After wiping and reactivating my BB I then downgraded to BlackBerry Messenger 4.6. I sent test messages out and others could get and reply to them, but not this one user; again the user would get the IMs but not be able to reply. As BBM didn't seem to be the problem I went ahead and re-upgraded to BBM 5.0.I have since deleted the user again and had the user try to request me again; I get the requests and approve them and the user enters my contacts, but still cannot send me messages.
I am able to send PIN messages to this user and said user can reply to PIN messages.Basically, after all that I have done the user can receive my messages but when the user replies nothing is sent to me.
I have been trying to set up my email to my blackberry curve 8530 however it wont allow me and tells me my user name in blank or invalid. it was set up on my last blackberry but wont transfer through to this one. As far am i am aware my email address in my user name but still wont take even when i have tried on the actual website from my lap top.
Recently got a new email account and wanted to add it to my Curve 9360 The setup asks for Blackberry User Name and Password. I've tried the ones I wrote down and all my other regulars. Tried resetting the password. It says it doesn't recognize the User Name
My Wife's Blackberry Bold has died with a App Error 606 Is there a way to recover from this error and get the device working again WITHOUT wiping user data? We've got some precious photos in this device and don't want to lose them.
Another poor user experience delivered by RIM. I just upgraded blackberry desktop software and once again ´╗┐found that many of my settings, such as BBM links to contacts, contact links to my Linked In connections, user ID and passwords to sites such as Linked In and Facebook, and my home screen photo were reset.
I don't understand why RIM lacks consumer focus. No wonder Apple is kicking RIM's butt in the smartphone market - they design products that work well, are simple to use, and do not cause grief or lost data when upgrading software.
After 7 years of owning a blackberry, I am tired of using a product that simply provides a less-than-optimal user experience.
We recently had an employee depart without notice. We do not want to delete his e-mail account because we must still process his incoming company-related e-mails. His e-mail (e.g. email@example.com) still goes to his Balckberry. How do we prevent e-mails addressed to him at our domain address from going to his Blackberry without deleting the e-mail address altogether?
