I'm thinking of abandoning the I-Phone altogether because of two annoyances that get only worse, not better, with time. But if any newer I-Phone (I currently have the 3GS) has removed these annoyances, I will upgrade.
1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?
3. I want my battery to last a minimum of 2 days without charging (I've tried all the usual ways of reducing battery consumption and the result does not meet my needs). Does any model I-Phone allow for this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI friend's Nexus 6P ran out of battery yesterday. Upon charging, the phone refused to start and it has gone into a bootloop (endless startup animation). I don't have the phone in hand yet (will get it tonight), but I had my friend get into the bootloader and try to flash the factory images using the included batch file. This did not work because he did not have the OEM unlock option enabled in developer options.
I had him try "Fast boot Format User data", which also didn't work as the phone is locked. Is there anything that can be done to fix it? Or a way to unlock without the OEM unlock option enabled?

The fact that the screen freezes when a workout is paused is the single reason I reach for my Garmin when I'm going out for a serious run. The ability to hit pause, assess how the workout is going, and make adjustments midway is critical. When I stop to take a drink of water, the first thing I do is hit the pause button. The second thing I do is see how I'm doing. Am I going too fast, too slow? Is my heartrate where it should be? What can I do to get back on track? My Garmin gives me all the information necessary to answer these questions. The MOTOACTV gives me nothing other than a song to listen to when I'm fuming over the ridiculousness of this "feature", or rather, the lackthereof.

It's to assess the situation and make adjustments before it's too late. Imagine if, during every time-out or other break in the action, someone comes and tapes the coach's mouth shut and ties his hands behind his back. "How am I doing, coach?" Shrug. I was updating and installing to iOS4 when my iphone 3G suddenly says it can't read my SIM card and was locked. On my iTunes screen I was told I needed to insert a SIM card in order to continue with the installation of the iOS4. I used my friend's SIM card and my iphone was able to detect it however my itunes would only allow me to the option to restore my iphone which I did and now all my camera roll, notes, contacts and sms are gone and the backups in my iTunes are all post-iPhone-crash.

Windows gave me an alert saying that the phone should be analysed because of a faulty file system. I ignored this message. Heck, I can even file my emails away in my folders, if I want to; i.e. move them over to my bills folder, or my purchases folder, or my mom folder.Now, here's the deal with my other account tho. I have my work emails going to my iPhone too. At work, I use Outlook. I have noticed lately that when I add a new contact or edit an old contact I don't have the option to identified if the contact has or not an iphone. When I bought the phone and was adding a new contact it shows by default the word iPhone in the space where you should add the phone number but I have found that I don't have that option anymore.

I have a new email so I changed my iTunes id. Now I cannot get into the app store on my iPhone 4S because it still is trying to find a password associated with my old email.Â
