I have a storm 2 9550 on MTS Mobility running v5.0.0.517. I cannot get app world to work anymore on my phone. I have tried the suggestions on the boards and still have no luck. App world installs but when I start it it just stays on the loading screen when I try to start it.

I have pulled the battery repeatedly, and wiped the phone, all of which make it work just fine for an hour or so before the problem returns. Customer service insists the problem is related to the data in my phone (?) which is ridiculous. They keep encouraging me to upgrade, but I've not had the phone for a year

I waited for hours until finally choosing to disconnect... My device tried to reboot and then ended on a white screen with the message "Reload Software:07I have gone through this 3 times now today, I tried a force detect process without the battery but it always gets stuck at the loading modules process. View 2 Replies View RelatedOn Vodafone in UK, and my Storm worked fine with the old App world. Then the new version came out. I've downloaded it umpteen times, and have created a BB ID. I log in correctly into App world on the Storm, and I just get the "loading" screen and cannot get past this. This has been going on for weeks. I thought there was a fault with the phone, but the store manager said he has been having exactly the same problem and that it is a problem at the BB end of things. When will RIM get this sorted out?

If someone calls me on a land line the caller id works great and name appears as in my contact list. If someone calls me on a cell phone I get unknown number. I have tried battery pull and tried changing encryption or the smart dialing settings.

I have a used BlackBerry Storm2 9550. There is a small issue with the touch screen digitizer, and replacing the digitizer will fix the problem. But the technician said thet, he can't replace the digitizer without replacing the whole LCD screen, as the both LCD screen and digitizer comes as a one unit. But on eBay I saw that some sellers sells the digitizer without the LCD screen.
Is it true? My LCD screen works properly. Can't I replace the touch screen digitizer, without replacing my LCD screen.
I have my 9550 set for single row view on my home page.I'll look my screen and holster the BB, now when I view my BB after its been holstered...Rather than it being in the single row view as I have it set, the screen is displaying an icon view with the last used highlighted...How can I get my BB to default back to the single row view ?

I made sure I got one with a march 5th branding so I had the updated screen. Earlier today the send, Menu, Return, and End keys plus the screen right next to the started this "TINKing" noise. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a new symbol on my screen that I cannot identify. It looks like the voicemail symbol 0_0 but is much smaller & has 2 dots over it. It says 10 to the left, assuming 10 new whatever. The voicemail symbol was next to it when I first used my phone today (so it's clearly not the voicemail), but went away when I set up my new voicemail for the first time (I am using it with a foreign carrier while out of the country for a few months). There are no voicemail messages. The symbol is not listed in the user guides/keys from BB. I went through every program & menu item & there are no unread messages of any kind.

Everytime I download the OS onto my computer (.517 and .607) I do the whole downloading process delete the vendor, go to application loader, it says new updates available for your phone, it does the whole downloading process but my phone still ends up with .320 --no changes. Am I missing a step, am I not supposed to delete the vendor.xml file or something.

This works only if I disable the password prompt, as certain people have a habit of picking my phone up when its on the side I like to keep it the password protection enabled. What I was wanting is the display the clock when in bedside mode without turning the screen off while still keeping the password protection enabled. Is this possible?

I love the bold but the couple things that have been really bothering me are the dropped calls and over crappy service.
Hows the 9550 on telus? and would u guys suggest switching to one? Hows the keyboard for someone thats used to a physical keyboard? the only two phones i have had are the tour and bold 9700 and i really like the keyboard, but im willing to get something thats not as good for a bigger screen. I just dont want anything thats glitchy. Im pretty picky about my electronics and especially for my phone i just want it to work.
So basically my real question is is it worth it to switch to the storm? and are there any issues with the phone that someone thats a bit finicky would be pissed off at? (im not obsessed about little issues but keyboard is a huge deal to me)

id like to stick to gsm and not switch back to cdma :/. and any other suggestions for phones if you dont think the s2 fits?

I just got a replacement storm2 and can not get the clock to stay on while in bedside mode even when plugged in charging. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a Storm 2 9550 that is from Verizon USA. The device is GSM unlocked, and I am using it from Hungary on a local carrier. I am in the middle of a carrier change that has Blackberry services, however I currently have 3G web access on my actual carrier. However, the integrated browser that came with the phone, does not allow me to use the 3g network, only WIFI service. I cannot even set it to 3G on the browser options tab, as it only offers "hotspot browser".
Is there any way I can find a http browser that supports the 3g network, so I could surf the web on this carrier until I complete the carrier change? Is there any on Blackberry App world? I didnt manage to find one.
Also, I would like to have a POP3 client on my device that can communicate through 3G with a pop3 mail server, as the integrated email messaging software that Blackberry device software 5 offers is only capable of having a mail account through a BB service provider.I am very staisfied with the device itself, great for managing calls, and multimedia - did not face any crashes at all (maybe once when I wnated to take a picture and it frozen when the flash lit up).
Using 9550 in 3G network is OK, but when I make a phone call in GPRS, BB cutts the call after 15 - 20 sec. Haw can I resolved it?
