View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm seeing a strange issue with all of our Verizon 9650's (Bold) that are members of our BES. A user receives an SMS message while the device is locked. The user then unlocks the device and <content protection is enabled> is displayed instead of the actual text of the SMS message. If the user closes the SMS and then relaunches it the message is displayed properly. Has anyone else seen this issue? Sounds almost like a software bug...

Is it possible to change the compression used to record videos, or install a different codec for that matter ? IMO the video recording is equal to that of devices that are geared for video recording, but the right configuration would open up the video recording possibilities and with 4K video recording on the horizon which as far as I know, no other smart phone will have the only thing needed is storage space !
View 1 Replies View Relatedbeen meaning to look into this for the longest time. i know that our providers must compress our media messages for speed and size. i'm not overly stressed about photo compression, but video i wonder about. where can i find the best info on which resolution is the happy medium between quality and posting speed? i know at full hd that Internet is gonna take quite some time and that g+ doesn't compress either, but video messaging always compresses even when i go down to vga and so. also, i'm always asked to resize the video but i have only 2 options, qcif and qvga. those are my specific questions, but if there is a site with answers to a myriad of other concerns related to media compression and posting i'd love to see it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes your available storage space(s) effect performance? I have about 100MB remaining in Application Memory, 1.6GB in Device Memory, and ~10GB on the media card. I have lots of things installed that I don't use. Also, in the Memory screen, the top item is "Compression". What is that referring to? I would assume that if something is compressed, it consumes less storage space, but conversely requires decompression in order to "run" which would effect performance, right?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an MPow dual USB car charger capable of providing 2.1 amps over both USB ports. It is also able to detect if you are using an iPhone or Android and adjust accordingly. It worked great with my G2. It could fast charge my wife's G2 and my G2 at the same time. However, on my Nexus 5 I just got, it is only charging at USB speed.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got a few questions about my AT&T Curve 8310...I was looking through "Options > Applications" and saw that the app that took the most memory was "Content Store." Anyone know what this is, if I can delete it, & what would happen if I did? Is there any way to shrink this down some?
My address book takes up quite a bit of memory; so does my calendar -- both of which were synced from Outlook. Is there any way to have the addresses/calendar data stored onto my microSD instead of the device memory?
Lastly, I noticed that when I call people using my Curve, it shows up on their caller ID as "private name, private number." Where can I change this setting? Is it in my provider's settings (which I can access online) or on the BlackBerry's settings somewhere? Also, is it possible to at least NOT have it show private when calling those on my address book, such as friends & relatives?
I've got a blackberry curve 8530 (software version 5.0 Bundle 1675). My desktop software updated a few days ago (to 7.0.0.59).During synchronization of contacts, I get the error in the subject above.I have gone to the bb knowledge base here[URL] I have completely reset the device to factory defaults as described here - [URL].That much worked.I have restored from backup. Full backups. The restore completed successfully. Then I tried synchronization again. Failed again exactly as above. So I reset to factory defaults again and tried restoring from a different backup. Still failed in synchronization. I have also powered off and on. And removed the battery. Various combinations of all of the above. Before I throw this blackberry away and get something that works? My synch is attempting to synchronize only contact data. I have set it up only to try that. It's not trying to synchronize anything else. The contact data is being synchronized from my computer's contacts folder to the smartphone - one direction only. Computer contact list should always win. That's the configuration setting.I keep seeing this as well: "Content rights do not match the device. Please insert the media card back to the right device" (then an OK button below that). I have a media card all right, but I have not removed nor inserted it, nor changed it in any way.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to disable these highly annoying emoticons in text messages etc.? My phone always freezes for 5-10 seconds when the smiley "loads" after I've typed, for example, "" and this problem is making messaging rather difficult. I've updated the phone couple of times in the past month so that's not a working solution.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to permanently disable the gmail app (or better yet, delete it)? Basically, I want to use my gmail account for gtalk and google voice only. (By way of background, I don't use gmail for email, but i do have some email accounts that will forward mail to my gmail account, so I do wind up having "new mail" in gmail every now and then.)
I already have the sync setting turned to OFF under settings -> accounts & sync -> auto sync is OFF and under "manage accounts," my google/gmail account is set to OFF for sync. This seemed to be working fine until I downloaded the update for the HTC one, and upon installation and reboot, all of my apps did a global sync and gmail started ticking again.
I know that I can turn off gmail notifications as a (temporary) workaround, but I'm hoping there is a more permanent solution.
On Sprint Stock OC9, and rooted.I am wondering if there is a way to disable some of the system notifications like "Charging... xx minutes Until Full" or the "Location Set By GPS". These are rather unnecessary. The GPS icon can stay but I don't need a notification along with it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to disable the 3G functionality on my brand new, recently purchased, beautiful T715A and surprise, surprise, the menu option is not there ( Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Mobile networks > GSM/3G networks > GSM Only). My guess is Fido (my wireless provider) installed a custom firmware that simply hides this option. So, my question is: does anyone know one of those secret codes that can turn on/off the 3G?I'm trying to do this because the battery gets drained pretty fast (about 4h talk time with 3G on compared to 10h with GSM only).I called the provider, but they can't do anything about it and directed me to Sony Ericsson.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn a effort to make my WHITE Z5c "behave", I am trying to clean up my almost empty phone even more.
When I go to SETTINGS>APPS>DOWNLOADED, I have uninstalled any apps that I rarely use.
What I would like to to is to DISABLE some of the apps I NEVER use that came pre installed on the phone.
Apps such as AR EFFECT, HANGOUTS etc.
I am reluctantly going to peal off my expensive screen protector as well.
Is there a way to do this? I've searched the settings and didn't find anything. I also tried Silent Boot from the Play Store and that didn't work either. What am I missing?
