Jul 31, 2010I am Disappointed with my Meamo contact app, I want to assign an image to my contact file but it says not enough memory, it didn't specify why.I didn't have any problems with S60 third edition or other Symbian devices, the size of the photograph did not matter.It was a more difficult process to assign an image to a contact file with my N900, with my other S60 third & fifth edtion phone, only had to choose a picture from image & use image to assign to contact, has anyone experienced this problem? Where to find other "Contact apps" that is more user friendly?

Jul 7, 2012Had a torch 9800 for 18 months now and always been working fine... until today. I went to use the camera and it all seemed to open up fine but instead of seeing what the lens sees the screen was black. The centre focus [ ] was there and I could zoom back and forth just a black screen. When I click for a photo I get a message " Unable to capture the image " I have searched the web and found nothing conclusive. Battery pulls, a full wipe and installation of the o/s have made no difference to it's lack of function.

Mar 3, 2012I've found that sometimes after taking a picture, the initial .nrw file doesn't automatically convert into a jpeg. Although the .nrw files can be viewed on the phone, they can't be editied, nor can I find any apps for my computer which will open them. Also, the .nrw files are not recognised by websites I've tried to upload them to (Picasa, Facebook etc).

The reason I ask is that, although I usually prefer the more natural looking images I can get from the DNG files, I have a couple of pictures where I really like the colors, saturation, etc. of the 5Mp jpeg image, but haven't been able to match a certain sparkle in the highlights or the vibrant colors of for instance the sky and water without getting an unwanted color cast or oversaturated colors elsewhere in the image.

Aug 21, 2010I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

When the Application Loader launches, it only provides me with the option of maintaining my OS and downgrading my OS to the older 4.6.1 version. I have previously used the exact same steps on another Curve 8520 and I had successfully upgraded the OS. After the upgrade was successful on the first phone, only did I try upgrading the second phone. Is there anything I did wrongly the second time around?

Feb 26, 2010Just noticed on my N79 that if I have a contact image assigned, and I delete the original image, the image assigned to the contact changes to a small thumbnail version of the original image, similar to that seen on the old N95 when using contact images. In other words, the system appears to still be storing the contact as a tiny S60 3rd FP1-style image, and the full-screen contact images are being read off the memory card at call time. Obviously this isn't ideal. I'll be throwing my contact images into a special folder so I don't delete them again.

Apr 27, 2010I built a "frankenstein" iphone out of the parts of a number of broken ones and today was the first-run power up. Happily, most things worked. Then, I tried to pull it apart to fix the minor issues and that's when things went bad. When I lifted the digitizer with a suction cup, I had forgotten that it was not totally adhered to the LCD frame. It had a little bit of adhesive at the bottom and a little at the top, but it separated when I pulled. I put an adhesive strip on the bottom part and let it connect the two so that I could lift the assembly out. I'm guessing in the process of this I strained the ribbon cables, but read on, because its not that simple.
I adhered the pieces and reconnected everything. When I put it back together, the screen didn't light up when I hit the power button. The phone is still on, it still makes audible alerts etc but no screen image. I tried connecting another screen (not connected to rails, digitizer etc) and hitting power and still nothing.
Keep in mind all of these parts should be working, but this phone is built from the ground up. Every single piece was installed into a new frame separately, but it did work when I first put it all together.
Just tried my screen on a different iphone. Works fine. So its the phone, I guess. What could cause it to stop outputting an image just like that?
