my blackberry has been working fine for weeks but for for the past week my internet service won't connect at all, in the top corner it just says GSM and ive tried everything i can think of, restarting the phone, turning the network on and off but nothing is working. it either says GSM or SOS. its supposed to say EDGE but its hasnt changed at all. what would any of you recommend?
View 2 RepliesI got my torch 9800 on launch day. i loved this device and definately felt like i was upgrading from my old device (iphone 3g). as much as i love the capabilities of the device i have run into a few issues, specifically network issues. it all started on sunday when all of a sudden i lost connection to the blackberry servers(the little logo in the corner was gone..) i went to at&t on monday and they could not figure it out. apparently my service book for the blackberry internet service got deleted(i didnt even know what a servicebook was lol) so i went home later that night and downnloaded the at&t software and reinstalled the os and this worked. then all of a sudden today, my fb was acting up, so i deleted the app. then i lost the connection again... do you guys have any idea what could be causing this? im currently reinstalling the os as i write this.

I then went to settings>>>host routing table in order to activate the blackberry service and I registered but still the phone wouldn't connect. I checked the connections and for both the blackberry internet service and the enterprise service are not connected.

On returning it won't now connect to the home wifi. Have tried turning it off & on + taking battery out.
In the top right hand corner it says EDGE
When trying to connect to the internet get "Unable to connect to internet. Please try again later. If the problem persists please contactr your service provider"
I have a curve 8330. If my phone is not connected to any BES server, do I have to specify my TCP settings under advanced options in order to connect to the internet? Or will it connect without the APN information set?

I have a curve 8250 and I am on a vodafone contract and I do have blackberry plan in my contract so it should work but it keeps saying it is not connected. I connected toa wifi connection yesterday and when I disabled that connection, my BIS did not start up again, i tried a battery pop reboot which didn't help at all, I even ran a diagnostics test and the resutls said as follows:
blackberry registration: no
Connected to blackberry:abort
blackberry pin-pin:abort
I already have a blackberry internet data plan but I can't connect to google or any apps.

Earlier BBM stopped working so I turned the phone off and BBM came back however now I can't use the internet or any of the applications I've downloaded. When I go to the Service Status it says Blackberry Internet Service is not connected however I can still use BBM. I'd like to know how to get connected to the Blackberry Internet Service again

i recently bought my first Blackberry phone the other day and whilst still going through the process of setting it up, i am trying to get BB internet service onto my phone. I have so much gone as far as following instructions from somewhere to go in to advanced options, into "host routing table" and selecting "register now"... which does nothing. May i have alittle help in setting this internet up, as so far it only works thorugh connecting to my home wifi network.

After I did that, I lost everything - phone, text, and Internet. My calendar is wiped out, as is my contacts. When I try to "turn on" mobile services, it does not turn on. Verizon is not even listed as my service provider. It is as if it cannot find a service provider and therefore, will not make a connection.

I went through the process of setting up the wireless but when I go to Manage Connections in the home menu I'm getting a dash (-) next to the wifi connection. It is connectiiong to my wireless network at home but when I go on the browser I get "An error occurred while fetching the reqested page". Also, when I go to Host Routing Table they're not entries. The mobile network I'm using is Digicel but I'm not on any blackberry service plan. Is it that the only way I can access my wirelss at home (or anywhere for that matter) is if I join the service plan? View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been facing this problem this the last couple of months.. whenever I travel and get into the roaming network, my phone doesnt connect to the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) because of which i cannot use BBM or any other internet based application. As soon as i am in local network, it gets connected to BIS. I have tried everything..data service while roaming is on.. have switched off phone, removed sim and restarted. Last evening I visited Vodafone store, the guy put my sim in another blackberry device and it got connected to BIS. However its doesnt get connected on my device. He suggested me to do a data wipe which I did, still am unable to connect to BIS.
