I recently got a new bb curve 8900 and I am having trouble connecting it to my home wireless internet. It worked like a charm the first day I got it, but now I can't get it to connect. Coverage is spotty where I live, so I need to connect to the internet to get calls and what no. I have the required data plan, so I am unsure as to why it stopped working.

I've been trying to get my phone to connect to my existing home Internet connection, which is wireless. I gave this thought because my husband's IPhone connects to our home network so easily. How do I get my C901 to do this? Or is it not possible?
When I tried to set up the My Presence section within the phone I entered in my username, password and then it asked me for server information so I entered in what I thought was the right info, but now it keeps giving me a network error failure message.
I recently bought a Nokia C3-00 WiFi phone but I can't seem to browse my home wireless connection with it. The phone can detect and connect with the wireless network successfully but when I open my mobile browser, it can't load websites, saying "Service not available."However, I can connect and browse the internet through other WiFi hotspots, just not my home connection. The router I'm using is LP-8616. It's an AP router, if that helps. Unfortunately, there's no firmware upgrade for this router anymore.
View 3 Replies View Relatedhi. had 8900 for few months on orange uk with data plan. have been using email, internet and windows live and blackberry messenger all fine using either wi fi or mobile now all of a sudden its stop working and i cant use none. when i try to connect to internet i get a msg say this is a wi fi service please ensure your device has a wi fi connection , bb messenger wont send mgs or receive windows live jus says this service is not enabled for this handheld. ive contacted orange but they havnt helped they did say it could be a update of facebook causing problem?. have tried removing battery and restoring removed service books etc nothings fixed. can anyone help plz?

I use a mac, and I downloaded the recent upgrade (4.6.1.319) through the desktop manager. So why does the wireless upgrade never has any upgrades available?
I had my curve 8900 for about a month now and I currently have the 4.6.1.231 OS. I wanted to know when I would receive an update for a newer OS version. How long would it take to get this upgrade?

Up until two days ago I could connect without any problems to my home wireless connection however now every time I try it says it failed to require an IP address. I have tried rebooting it and the other tricks that usually work such as turning on and off the connections but nothing is working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to connect to network when I'm not at home (so can't see incoming emails, updated facebook, new tweets, etc.) It still says GSM or EDGE with a few bars so it looks like I have internet but it's just not transmitting. Don't know if this is related but this seems to have happened right after I did a backup and connected the BB to the computer and desktop manager and did the update. Should I undo this? How would I do that? Or is it some other type of troubleshooting?

At home my blackberry is assigned an ip address - seen in WiFi diagnostics and on WiFi modem. The only difference that I noticed between my blackberry at home and on a public WiFi is that the blackberry infrastructure is connected in public. Does my wifi modem need to be set to recognize an remote blackberry structure address?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have an ADB wireless router and a very slow internet conection , and although my 2 laptops connect to the wifi here in Portugal, my blackberry curve 8520 on vodafone PT, doesnt connect , it identifies the network and shows wifi logo in grey and under network connections it showsthe network name with a white dash next to it and the signal strength.i have tried different setting on the router such as: wpa2, wpa, wep and open, but i get the same result.my internet speed is only 213kbps, would this effect the wifi? i have tried deleting the network and then taking out the battery while witched on etc....

When trying to connect my Blackberry to the network, it finds my Home Network but then tells me that the Router supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup. To connect using a PIN (which my Blackberry will generate, click Next. I click next and the mobile generates an 8 digit number with the message "Enter this PIN into your wireless router."I cannot find a way to enter a PIN into the Netgear Router and all attempts to get help from Netgear have failed to solve the problem.The latest advice from Netgear was that I should contact Blackberry.Incidentally, the Wireless Printer and the Wireless Laptop both work inconjunction with the Router, as does the PC which is hard wired to the Router.

I may have reset to defaults during my attempts to connect, I am not sure what happened. My wife has the same blackberry and connects just fine. My phone sees the router, but it shows a WAP security deal. When I try to set it up-there is no WPA option. It tells me the blackberry will enter a PIN, but it never does.

On returning it won't now connect to the home wifi. Have tried turning it off & on + taking battery out.
In the top right hand corner it says EDGE

I have a problem with trying to log into my wireless router when I am at home using my BB.
I am entering the right address to log into the routers login page, trouble is all I'm getting is the following error message:The server returned the following error while attempting to fulfil your request: "Connection timed out"
I can get on the internet no problem, have even turned off my O2 network and just left my wireless network on and can still get on the web so know the router is letting me connect, have even tried to change the browser from BB to Firefox to IE but still no joy.
There's this notification icon in my screen and it looks something like this image I uploaded (that'll be the one right next to the unread message envelope icon). Can someone tell me what that is and how I could retrieve (and eventually get rid of) it?
